- freakon, on 11/13/2007, -6/+206Welcome to a new age, Gentlemen. A new age of unlimited south park episodes on youtube.
- Salgat, on 11/13/2007, -5/+151Youtube needs to do what Stage6 is doing. (stage6.divx.com)
- guymal, on 11/13/2007, -2/+103It's about time they raise the file limits.
- toast1226, on 11/12/2007, -2/+100Yeah but what kinda video is 1 GB but only 10 minutes in length?
- Tboy1039, on 11/14/2007, -2/+81Awesome for youtube! NOW CHANGE THE 10minute LIMIT!
- tuxidomasx, on 11/11/2007, -1/+48that divx player is smooth, man.
i wish all online videos were like that. nice and simple. all movies are easily savable to the harddrive. easy window detach feature. the divx player browser plugin is great. - jasdf, on 11/12/2007, -0/+34Stage6 rules! Where else can you get full 1080p online video?
- PabloIV, on 11/11/2007, -7/+38This means entire seasons going up from multiple sources across the world, decent video quality... I'm really happy!!!
Also...
Google is gonna get so sued - inactive, on 11/11/2007, -1/+31*golf clap*
- cspivack, on 11/12/2007, -2/+29Still has a 10 minute limit, for people without Director accounts.
- NinjaNoodles, on 11/11/2007, -0/+27Read it people, "Length will remain at 10 minutes though, so that just means more high quality video will be available on the site."
- yugiohdan6, on 11/12/2007, -5/+31BitTorrent...
- BluesFan, on 11/11/2007, -1/+26in my opinion http://stage6.divx.com/ is way better.....better quality(HD),unlimited length, smoother and fairly fast the only thing youtube has is more users.
- jasdf, on 11/12/2007, -1/+25The ones made my by Canon digital camera...actually only 8mins per GB; stupid Motion JPEG compression, get with the times Canon.
- Dokument, on 11/12/2007, -1/+23but seriously, good god. i wonder what their total storage space is, and i would probably cry if i knew the bandwidth they use.
- mediaspree, on 11/11/2007, -0/+22This is how you will access "TV" in the future. Google was right to pay 1+ billion for the brand.
- fatadamblog, on 11/11/2007, -0/+17Yeah I love Stage6 player, the only thing bad about it is with Vista it doesn't support Aero so it changes to weird theme while watching Stage6 videos online.
But if Youtube opened up high quality 1080P videos/movies it would be all over for Stage6, but it's what sets them apart I guess.
Remember QUALITY over Quantity kiddies! - homey007, on 11/11/2007, -1/+18Finally! I hope they increase the quality too. Divx Stage6's quality is so much better in my opinion. Watching stuff on YouTube reminds me of the 56k days.
- zlyoga, on 11/14/2007, -1/+18it already is changed, just get a director account. I got one and the 10 minute restriction is gone
- mrsteveman1, on 11/11/2007, -0/+13Because they sort of have to use Divx, its their own codec
- travbrack, on 11/12/2007, -0/+13ever heard of Viacom? They don't like it when people do that kind of thing, just so you know
- BryanJK, on 11/12/2007, -1/+14*streaming* :P
- inactive, on 11/11/2007, -3/+15Ugh.....Another wonderful offering from Youtube.........Sit back and watch glorious FLV in all it's pixelated, blurry wonder...for all of 9 minutes.
Try DIVX....Better compression. Get the player plus burner here: http://stage6.divx.com/

- mrsteveman1, on 11/12/2007, -0/+12Its a bit old, but here
"Meanwhile the site’s bandwidth costs, which increase every time a visitor clicks on a video, may be approaching $1 million a month–much of which goes to provider Limelight Networks. Industry observers estimate that YouTube, which is streaming 40 million videos and 200 terabytes of data per day, may be paying between a tenth of a cent and half a cent per minute."
http://blog.forret.com/2006/05/youtube-bandwidth-t ... - mediaspree, on 11/12/2007, -0/+11No, on demand, in full 1080p. Why adhere to a networks "schedule"
- BryanJK, on 11/11/2007, -0/+11and because flash sucks at watching HD
- nymphetamine, on 11/11/2007, -0/+11I know you are but what am I?
/5th grade flash back - likwidfuzion, on 11/11/2007, -0/+11I wouldn't be surprised if this is preparation for the new Flash player that has HD playback capabilities.
- BryanJK, on 11/11/2007, -0/+10HD
- mentor972, on 11/11/2007, -0/+10OHHHHHH, I'm really scared!!!
- BryanJK, on 11/12/2007, -3/+13Settings > Account Type > Director :3
I personally prefer Stage6 from DivX, its in any resolution at 30fps and perfect quality. Its just not well known like Youtube so theres not much there. - mrsteveman1, on 11/11/2007, -0/+101080p videos of how to fix your iPod while kids in white sheets cry about britney.......
- DarkDx, on 11/11/2007, -1/+10High-def? SD works already slow for me, no thanks.
- jeet404, on 11/11/2007, -0/+9Yep Stage6 rocks for anime,tv show, and in general movies that youtube deletes immediately. Not only that but in great resolution also :)
- inactive, on 11/12/2007, -5/+13What, ***** pixelated video streams?
- fkr3, on 11/12/2007, -0/+8They don't do it right cause they don't want to cut into the sales of their video cameras. Same reason cameras in phones are only just starting to not suck.
- mrsteveman1, on 11/11/2007, -1/+9People who use Windows? Last time anyone checked that was still a large number of people, even though everyone likes to pretend they NEVER use Windows.
And just so you know, you don't have to use Windows to use Win32 apps. - sfacets, on 11/11/2007, -4/+11Yo want more than 10 minutes? Check out the Director option. Easy.
- BenWang, on 11/11/2007, -0/+7Heres a direct link to the download page. Avoid the blog spam!
http://youtube.com/multifile_installer - cococooky, on 11/11/2007, -0/+7They have developed a massive database program for screening for copyrighted material. The media company has to submit their content to the database so it can be crossed referenced for the files on YouTube and Google Video. This will definitely help them fight litigation.
- JRPereira, on 11/11/2007, -0/+7You seem to forget that stage6's search is god damned awful. Other than that, stage 6 is better in ever way.
- Kmartian21, on 11/11/2007, -0/+7I agree! stage6 is where it's at
- mrsteveman1, on 11/12/2007, -1/+7I don't know if i want Canon or any of them trying to implement something better, they will screw it up. Then again photo cameras probably should stick to taking pictures, because feature creep only leads to poor quality movies since they never do it right.
- BluesFan, on 11/11/2007, -1/+7totaly agree, why more people don't use it and divx is beyond me.
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 11/11/2007, -1/+7Actually the quality hasn't changed.
- diggdowner, on 11/11/2007, -1/+7I hear there are "old" director accounts and "new" director accounts... the latter of which still have that 10-minute restriction.
- sb76117, on 11/11/2007, -4/+10bigger file size, stricter content filters and more adds... not a fair trade at all
and stage 6's divx player is pretty nice. i like the mouse control menu in fullscreen - Batiu-Drami, on 11/11/2007, -1/+7....of cats doing funny things.
- LudovicNoir, on 11/11/2007, -1/+7Yay! Better quality 'funny cat' videos!
