- chester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Netfirms (http://www.netfirms.com) has .com's at $4.95US and .ca's at $9.95CDN all the time which, according to Netcraft, are the lowest all-the-time prices around (without having to buy hosting plan as well). Plus, if you do end up hosting with them (like I do) you get between 1 and 5 domains free, depending on which plan you take (I got 2 free).
- findhostcoupons, on 03/21/2009, -0/+1most likely this special is temporary!

What? $9.99 for 5 years, is actually $1.198 per year. I know what you meant, but you worded it the wrong way round. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1*** THIS EXPIRES SEPTEMBER 2ND ***
- sohmageek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nice thanks, now if I had another few bucks I'd register 2 more... hiding your address and phone number is another $9 but it's still a damn good price!
- craterburnsu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0*****, i didn't know about the banner.. Where's it say it at? Plus yahoo doesnt take paypal.. so i can't get anything anyway lol.
- treelovinhippie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0WTF are any domains with the word 'business' in them already registered? .... damn annoying.
- thePrisoner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Almost pulled the trigger on this deal, but the banner thing was a deal breaker :(
- crash331, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0just use the domain name the correct way and there is no damn ads. change the dns servers to your hosts dns server. dont ***** cloak-forward.
- T0FU, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Can anybody think of any up-and-coming (or even established) businesses that are currently site-less or any names that might be used by a new business? Perhaps a presidential campaign for 2008? This is the perfect opportunity to buy up so you can sell them at a highly inflated price in a few years."
you sir make me sick - shockme17, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how do you change the dns settings so the banner wont appear?
- Adelaide, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Only 20 minutes to go!
- diecastbeatdown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0very sweet deal. i just registered a domain for 5 years at $9.95 - thanks yahoo!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0THERE ARE NO BANNER ADS!!!!!!!!!! Just ***** change the DNS settings, problem solved!
- slantyeyed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0if it's too good to be true, then it's too good to be true . . . too many stipulations . . .
- darkdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow. I'm definitely registering some.
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0great digg. I'm finally registering my name .com
- AnotherName, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0cool. thanks.
- mouthster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0awesome.. thanks for the tip
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0SOMEBODY REGISTER www.diggeffect.com!!!
- ryank808, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Awesome. I think the person above is referring to the ad if you use cloaked web forwarding and their DNS service. You can get around this by not cloaking your URL, doing your domain the right way instead of through web forwarding, or by using a 3rd party DNS service like ZoneEdit which provides web forwarding without the ad. -- Remember when domains were $100 a year, first two years up front?
- danesparza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0www.1and1.com is still the bomb.
- djrbx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0just registered http://djrbx.com
also tryed switching plans on my http://babyboi.us domain also hosted by yahoo, but didn't work. too bad you can't switch plans on an existing sbc yahoo business domain. but for $1.99 a year, its a good deal. - babumuchhala, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0:(( i dont have a credit card & my Mater Card Debit card dosent work :((
Waaaa - Adelaide, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Over! (and I just got myname.com in time)
- patch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You do realize that it is impossible for someone to offer domains for less than 6 dollars a year without loosing money. Prices lower than $6 usually come with restrictions or catches.
- jayknitter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Whats the deal with the banner? When does it show up? If I have the domain I register point to my home computer are people who go there gunna see the banner or what?
- keith55, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Hey, you can still get the Yahoo $1.99 domain promo at this link . http://6figureblogger.com/yahoopromo.php
- kindrobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I believe the setup fee refers to the HOSTING deal that you can get with only ONE of your registered domains. If you go to the main domains page you'll see there's NO OTHER price for registering a single domain. So the deal works on as many as you want, they just won't waive the SETUP fee if you choose to purchase HOSTING from them. Anyway, it still worked for me again. I'm up to FIVE now. So there ya go.
- nickwalton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I kid you not, I just renewed 3 domains 12 hours ago at 5.99 each :-(
- kindrobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just did another for 1.99, so I think that would indicate it's still working.
Not sure how it'd only work for some people. - DrClaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Does anyone know a good place to register .ca domains?
- Binaryzero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I would but I was headed to my office anyway so this was the faster test...
- lostintech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Binaryzero, just use a proxy server.
- bentwookiee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0drclaw:
You can find a long list of .ca domain registrars here:
http://ro.cira.ca/re_choose_en
I've only had experience with http://www.10dollar.ca - no problems with them so far. - bentwookiee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0... and they're pretty cheap compared to other .ca sites. I think it is $10.45 CDN per year. (You might want to check them out leadx.)
- Binaryzero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I need to amend my statement of it not working... It does not work from an SBC Internet subnet, I looked at work and got a different screen.
- tempestivo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Crap. I just registered one for $9 this morning through godaddy.
- jkearney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0tempestivo: owned
- nomechingues, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0someone sayd you cant transfer these domains, does that mean you cant sell them ?
- slick_rick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wynnwill, are you using your own host or are you using the free hosting from yahoo?
- Killasta43, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yup, I agree with TheJosher, namecheap is the best.
- ShadowRider, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0These guys are terrible. Their customer service is the least friendly and worthless thing I've ever seen. Maybe if I scream really loud and say that one of their customer reps said that registar transfer was possible, I can get a partial refund for their inability to transfer domains.
- Binaryzero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0no longer works. they wanted 9.99 now
- leadx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Best price I've been able to find on .ca name is from Budget names: http://www.budgetnames.ca/
There $12.99, I believe. Remember, they'll make sure you qualify before just giving you this domain. Lot's of people from California are trying to get one, but can't. - zapada, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Can we change the DNS and point it to another host without having ads, or ***** like that?
- dvdd127, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wish i could transfer some domains to them for that price.. lol
if someone knows how i can go about do this please contact me - zapada, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Also, how much is the "setup" fee?
- elistian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lol i bought 5 domains... all the people that didnt buy a domain because they thought there were banners are retarded... no banners... you can change all the dns settings to whatever u want or even foward the domain to a different url all with NO BANNERS!! the only time a yahoo banner shows up is when you try to foward the domain WITH cloaking the url... but with just regular fowarding with no cloaking there is no banner.. and no banner when u change the dns settings...
this deal is gone but the still have the deal for $4.99 now... regular $10...
god i hope this deal comes back even for a day... ill buy 50 domains easy... -
