- m3mn0n, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Yep. Still going to use Google.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It was obvious they were investors only from the start, I don't know why people like reporting false info, just to make it to the front page.
- Laurentvw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not bad but no snow :(
How about you? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This just in, you're not funny (you are also incorrect, it is a FOR-PROFIT organization which is responsible for this new search engine).
- PacoDG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It is retarded. Can't they be satisfied with being the nearly always the top result for most searched items on Google already, rather than compete with whom they get a lot of traffic from. I like not having an algorithm or what not for how my searches come back to me. With this Wiki idea, its just a matter of time before advertisers/spammers/etc take over and/or pay off whomever is pulling a lot of the strings back there, and the Wiki search just ends up pointing to Amazon results.

I agree whole heartedly, I don't think wiki is just about freedom of information like they claim, hell they don't even follow the licenses they purport to use. http://www.wikitruth.info/index.php?title=Wikipocalypse:GF%27DL
Also, Jimbo is planning on riding the coattails of wikipedia out to unimaginable success. Search is a big business as evidenced by google, and your right they are at the top of google serps but where could they go from there? Oh yeah just have people visiting wiki first and if they don't find it on wikipedia i'm sure he'll add some nice search button. I think people should quit being so excited about wikipedia. It's a haven for pornographers to spread their agenda, and for senseless idiots to take apart the work of true academics. Just make sure you don't forget that this isn't about helping people out. http://www.wikitruth.info/index.php?title=The_Magic_Formula - juliocgrajales, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I use google for everything, but its interesting people should judge the product by the results instead now due to just mentioning a big company like Amazon, I don't think this will launch successfully... oh well
- bariswheel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Obviously you cared enough to reply
- budlight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Also, I wouldn't doubt this page was dugg, following a "Suggestion" from Jimbo. I recommend everyone watch Jimbo, you can learn a lot about how to convince people to do stuff for you from him.

- Ignited, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0God be praised!!! Another underground website saved from those huge internet mogules who like eating up and destroying the fresh and awesome websites we have come to love!!!
- idiggeverything, on 10/12/2007, -7/+6yawn .. who cares.
- CaffeineAddict, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Nonprofit organization doesn't partner with profitable website ... in other news, fish dont have feet.
Edit: this just in ... fish live in the ocean (lakes too even) - blueness, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Wow, why are people so allergic when open source projects goes into partnership with some other companies in order to secure funding? Seriously, it's not the end of the world. People are just extremely hypersensitive toward these issues. Surely you had your say when projects like Wikipedia are asking for donations on their website, if you did not donate a cent and still complain about similar joint-ventures, then shut the hell up, nobody cares what you think.
