- inactive, on 05/29/2008, -6/+28SPYware at the White House? Who'da thunk it!
- FatLoser, on 05/29/2008, -6/+28"and it was at the library"
me too... and not the last either. but it was youporn that got me kicked out of the south dakota state library and put on probation for 3 years - adml_shake, on 05/29/2008, -5/+24That's not malware, that's "Software for the security and defense of America interests and people".
- Fadakar, on 05/29/2008, -1/+14Commencing "DON'T GO TO WWW.WHITEHOUSE.ORG, IT GAVE ME MALWARE!" comments.....now.
- Ryan166, on 05/29/2008, -3/+15as did my penis.
- SQLserver, on 05/29/2008, -0/+11What?
Who called me? - shadowspawn, on 05/29/2008, -1/+11It *is* an autodownloader that used to use Real Player, now.... they exploit moved to a flash exploit early yesterday morning. We're getting several dozen hits a day with the new flash 0-day exploit that isn't even showing up on any VS yet.
Here's the first SQL variant that is used by the compromised computers to spread itself... for those that are interested. It caught me on a really old website that wasn't looking for binary SQL Injection.

The total amount of websites affected is well over a million. - ElBeh, on 05/29/2008, -0/+10lol, you're still using FireFox 2. FF3 blocks it.
- peterjmag, on 05/29/2008, -0/+9And of course, there's absolutely no way that the source could have changed since that screenshot was taken.
- xenoc1de, on 05/29/2008, -0/+8Funny that http://georgewbush.org/ actually links to this site, and was on a front page article today. I wonder how many people here at digg got a virus.
- sfacets, on 05/29/2008, -4/+12Actually I would expect malware from the whitehouse.
- Sairgem, on 05/29/2008, -1/+8Irony not found.
- Tenoq, on 05/29/2008, -0/+6At least that's what they'd like you to think.
/tinfoil hat - Me1000, on 05/29/2008, -0/+6you mean spyware?
- johnn11238, on 05/29/2008, -1/+7That is pure Apple-humping *****.
- Samsong, on 05/29/2008, -3/+9Lol.
http://www.google.com/interstitial?url=http://www. ... - duggdowncatisad, on 05/29/2008, -1/+6Not surprising, seeing as that the actual White House has been infected by malware for the past 7 years.
- Chris4, on 05/29/2008, -0/+5*FAKE* White House website.
- Chris4, on 05/29/2008, -0/+5It's not the same. It's a parody website. A joke. Fake.
But someone has hacked this fake White House website and added the malware. - Chris4, on 05/29/2008, -0/+5It's a parody website. A joke. It's meant to say that.
Officious = Unofficial or informal
Somehow I don't think the White House sells t-shirts with Bush saying "We're kicking ass in Iraq".
It even says "the fake White House web site" in the news story if you bother to read it.
Someone has hacked this fake White House website and added the hidden malware.
Oh and.. You = Mac fanboy - Tenoq, on 05/29/2008, -1/+5No it's because it only infects Mac-haters. [/sarcasm] :p
- the3stars, on 05/29/2008, -1/+5totally, me too
- jb0nd38372, on 05/29/2008, -0/+4What the ***** are you smoking?
- inactive, on 05/29/2008, -2/+6Wow, is that because Macs have superior virus protection and everything? [/sarcasm]
- ligyron, on 05/29/2008, -1/+5What's it like living in such ignorance? It is truly bliss?
- jjustin01, on 05/29/2008, -0/+4I find more and more reasons to worship FF3 every day.
- Chris4, on 05/29/2008, -0/+4You suck.
- asurroca, on 05/29/2008, -1/+4I don't get it. How is this different from the informational malware whitehouse.gov serves us?
- CodeCobalt, on 05/29/2008, -0/+3just cause your on a mac doesn't mean your immune from all viruses forever. Just no viruses written for the ish yet.
- dtfinch, on 05/29/2008, -0/+3Not blocked for me. I disabled Firefox 3's anti-phishing/malware feature long ago because of that urlclassifier disk thrashing bug.
- SQLserver, on 05/29/2008, -0/+3This Malware does no evil on Linux.
I actually want to visit the site, but Firefox has it blocked. - cheapotheclown, on 05/29/2008, -2/+5well we're immune from this one
- TheRealToma, on 05/29/2008, -0/+3Im sure the problem has been fixed, so its not really news anymore... Its also interesting that it should surface now that there was the video of Karl Roves emails going to whitehouse.org.
- Chris4, on 05/29/2008, -0/+3Nah, they don't need virus protection because Macs are so superior. [/sarcasm]
- Chris4, on 05/29/2008, -1/+4Nothing happened and I'm on Windows.
But if you actually bother to read the article, it says it downloads in the background without you even knowing. - lcarsdeveloper, on 05/29/2008, -0/+3I love how 90% of the people above don't realise whitehouse.gov is the actual White House, and whitehouse.org is a fake parody site.
- JoeVet, on 05/29/2008, -0/+2Whitehouse.org hasn't been updated for months. I thought it was defunct.
- Verz, on 05/29/2008, -0/+2Hahaha 'tard.
- Fryth, on 05/29/2008, -0/+2It seems to be fixed now.
- lamiaconfitor, on 05/29/2008, -0/+2I'm sad to see it gone... it was a fantastic fun fact.
- edwartica, on 05/29/2008, -0/+2obligatory terrorist joke.
- TheRealToma, on 05/29/2008, -5/+7Buried. There is no autodownloader code where the screenshot shows. Heres the exact copy of the source I got from Firefox on a Linux box. My searching indicates it should be on line 97.
http://pastebin.ca/1032709 - unknownsoldierX, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1Whitehouse.com used to be a porn site, about 5 years ago. My sister's friend, 13 at the time, was trying to do research for a report. I wonder how many other school kids made the same mistake.
- jb0nd38372, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1whitehouse.org whitehouse.gov, DUH!
- kushin, on 05/29/2008, -2/+3Buried as insignificant - when compared to the B.S thats being served by whitehouse.gov for the past 7 years
- inactive, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1Sorry but the last link should have been: http://tinyurl.com/6jnnvu
instead of the same thing twice. -
