- rusty_g, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11this is a cool online app...
- mtvkilledusall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I've used WTF?!'s services before.
A very handy tool! - beelz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5http://img360.imageshack.us/img360/4701/untitled17wf.jpg
couldnt get diggs font . anyone know what it is - aarona, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6People get modded down for crying dupe because the "gotcha" mentality around here decreases the signal-to-noise ratio. When every third comment is "dupe" on articles like this, the comments section becomes effectively worthless. Besides, it's just annoying. It's becoming the "first post" of digg.
Furthermore, given that digg is a live site and updates many times an hour, stuff gets pushed off the front page all the time. Dupes are digg's way of allowing stuff to actually get through to people like me, who only get to check it once or twice a day. Half of us don't know that it's a dupe because we missed it the first time, and the other half doesn't really seem to care. - kirkio, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6It's similar to Shimano SquareLightNarrow

http://www.bestflashanimationsite.com/pixel-fonts/92.php - aplusplus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah, I found this service a few months back and it has helped me out. Doesn't catch them all, though.
- saifatlast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Don't know why you're getting modded down. This is true, people!!
- rm999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"and the other half doesn't really seem to care."
I think dupes are unfair to this half. Instead of a fresh story that no one has read, half the people are subjected to a story that they already have read. This "duped" story theoretically pushed another story off the front page. I agree that it's not a huge deal though. Sometimes I will comment that a story is a dupe before it has hit the front page to tell the submitter, but never after. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I found this service a few months back also... BECAUSE IT WAS ON DIGG!
- liquilife, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Exactly, well put. Not to mention some of us don't visit very often. Also, look at it this way, the article is on the front page AGAIN. Guess that means the public has spoken. There is a demand to see this article again. It's STILL useful.
- dmsteg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I can't tell you how much time I've wasted over the years going through books of hundreds of fonts just to find some obscure typeface that a customer absolutely has to have (but of coarse doesn't know what it is).
If I could digg this twice I would. - addisonj, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5idk, they don't love me :( :( :(
- Fofer, on 10/12/2007, -5/+72002 called, they want their link back.
- rspeed, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Seriously, quit with the comment spamming.

Nice work. - etruscan, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Cool - but it has been around for a long, long time. I also find it has a lot of trouble with fonts that are on a textured or busy background.
- pointlessaudio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.captainimmy.blogspot.com
look at the font, looks kinda like diggs. - liquilife, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Who are you? The dupe police? Like I said in an earlier comment the public base of digg visitors seems to like it. The link is on the front page afterall. Is this site specifically for you or for all of us?
Anyways, I fully expect you to mod down this comment. Have fun. Maybe the other dupe officers will mod down this comment as well. :) - Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Man i have been trying to figure out what font I used for my name on my site (top-left) for the longest time. I tried this site and nothing happened, it just showed my image and said something about highlighted letters, but nothing was highlighted. If anyone can tell me what it is please do, it's been driving me nuts for years.

(and no I'm not trying to spam, I'm being serious here) - t3hX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah. Found that font ages ago and noticed it was kind-of familiar
- mistshadow2k4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Indeed it is true. I've done it myself. It's basically a form of drawing, just making fancy letters for a logo. That's how it was done for, well, centuries before computers and people are still doing that. Some draw their own logo, scan it and then upload it as an image. It's pretty easy.
- breakfastpants, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@etruscan
If it didn't have trouble, captchas wouldn't be possible (and perhaps digg would be a lot more pleasant to use). - Rice, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4It's the second dupe... See the '3' at the end up there? Uh huh, read your URLs, kids.
- Silencer7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hah, you CAN! http://www.digg.com/design/What_the_Font__ =D
- msbeckman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Gives you a lot of choices to choose from, some are way off, it did however find the one I was looking for. Good find, I can see me using this quite often, that way no more copying font into ps and matching a font over it....
- wandog, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2to all you with gripes about it not finding fonts...you can't expect a logo to be identified. More often than not a logo is specific designed for the word or company and hence wouldn't match any existing font. I doubt the people who made digg were like let's save some cash and just type "Digg" in super newscript times arial font!
- TheCheeks, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1its not perfect but it does work, i like it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Brilliant work. I want to Digg every story on this, dupe or not. Good find for all involved.
- briguyd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1No match for the Ubuntu logo text, either.
- kman2k1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I have this site on my bookmarks bar at work. Often I have to recreate ads I don't have the source files for and scrolling through a list of fonts just sucks.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4I don't know why people modded you down... this is a dupe
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4it's a dupe, too.
- giveaphuk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Bah! this site has been around for years.. i guess it would be handy for those without much design experience.. as any designer would know, that there are more font names then there are fonts.. After a few years of designing, u find eventually that it becomes very easy to identify certain fonts by eye.
Still the OCR aspect is pretty cool! :) - ShaolinTiger, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3This is extremely old, but useful nevertheless.
- gsastry, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4It's most likely not a font.
- Blah_Blah_Blah, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3what the font isnt nearly as widely used as image shack so that wont work.
- antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Your mother called. She wants her... uh... link back... BITCHNAZ!
- underburn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Its a great app, but it couldnt find the Apple Font, so I question how well it works. dugg for the idea.
- thetaco82, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Is this really front page news? WhatTheFont has been around for years...
Actually, never mind. I just thought of a good way to get a story on the front page. I'll just submit a blurb about ImageShack and how ANYONE can host an image there... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Burried w00t!
- mikeazorin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I input digg's font, and although it didn't find it exactly, it came up with some very close results.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Yeah, that's right mod me down for doing the right thing in reporting it as the dupe it is.
Do a search next time poster. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Trying to make Digg a better place...
Reported Dupe - addisonj, on 10/12/2007, -15/+7i believe this is a dupe, pretty sure it was... yes surely is a dupe but eh, whatever, he even used the same name... no digg http://www.digg.com/design/What_the_Font__
- kensavage, on 10/12/2007, -25/+4Probably not a font but just a drawing.
