- gmgauthi, on 11/22/2007, -0/+16I second http://ww.freedomainradio.com as one of the most stimulating podcasts on the net. Thing is, the kind of stimulation you get may not always be quite what you expect - so get ready for a bumpy ride!! ;)
- ckhw2, on 11/22/2007, -1/+14Undoubtedly! The most inspiring talks I've ever heard are on TED.com
- numberneal, on 11/22/2007, -3/+15i actually enjoy the drilldown.
- mafy, on 11/22/2007, -0/+11Agreed. Freedomain's my choice when it comes to intellectually stimulating podcasts.

- sephethus, on 11/22/2007, -0/+10Freedomain Radio is probably the most intellectually stimulating podcast ever. Over 900 podcasts and counting.
http://www.freedomainradio.com - bongfarmer, on 11/22/2007, -0/+9My friend recently introduced me to freedomainradio, I've never listened to podcast before so i cant really compare it to others but I'd still rank it highly. The host absolutely destroys logic, very articulated and well thought out.

- AndreasTh, on 11/22/2007, -1/+7The best out there
http://www.theskepticsguide.org/ - gadlaw, on 11/23/2007, -0/+5Nothing wrong with self promotion and since you are on Digg that's evidence that you are not completely hidebound. I'll download a podcast from iTunes and see how it goes. It would be nice to hear a good/entertaining/informative/political/philosophical podcast. This is a great thread and I'm checking new stuff out now. I've listened to one Dan Carlin's Hardcore History and it's good so I'll grab those, I'm listening to the Skeptic's Guide to the Universe and that's pretty darn awesome as well. Great stuff all over the place.

Sick and Wrong Podcast - htiawe, on 11/22/2007, -0/+4This might not be "ooh, lets read books and talk about them" related (even tho i like books) but the 1up yours podcast is actually really good. Its a gaming podcast but there isnt just "Oh, this game is cool and just released" but its intense debates and some serious discussions about games and the games biz. Recommended!
http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3149993 - counterplex, on 11/22/2007, -2/+6I find NPR's Radio Lab (and the corresponding podcast) to be one of the best out there. Any other listeners?

http://www.abc.net.au/science/k2/stn/podcast.htm
Listeners ring up a radio station with random questions like 'How do those hotplates that don't get hot work?". And he spits out answers of the top of his head and explains how it all works. This guy is like a howstuffworks.com on legs.
NOTE: He's decided to content a seat in the Australian Senate (upper house) in an election that is on the 24th Nov. So he had been 'out of the office" for the past month campaigning.... so go back to some of the old ones before October this year. - whataboutdave, on 11/22/2007, -1/+5EconTalk is fantastic if you have an interest in economics.
- dkopp, on 11/23/2007, -0/+3Freedomainradio is worth every second. Number 1!
- oojamaflip2006, on 11/22/2007, -1/+4For real stimulation I think Futures in Biotech is a great, if undervalued podcast.
- Laughto, on 11/22/2007, -2/+5Philosophy Bites I recommend to anyone with a passing interest in philosophy or more. Simple enough to make sense to anyone.
- jj2me, on 11/22/2007, -0/+2I'm surprised no one mentioned Slate.com's podcasts, just about my favorite: http://www.slate.com/id/2119317/
- saifatlast, on 11/22/2007, -10/+12Hmm... if only the internet had some kind of searching capability... then you could find the answers yourself. Ahh well, I guess you'll have to wait until someone does all the work for you.
- Corrosionx, on 11/22/2007, -1/+3Free Talk Live -maybe not the most intellectually stimulating, but one of the most entertaining (a must for libertarians).

Futures in Biotech
http://twit.tv/FIB - fryguy1013, on 11/25/2007, -0/+1Well, a lot of security is securing the weakest link, and what frustrates me sometimes is when he says if you do x then you're secure, but he leaves out y. In the general case, yes it's good that unexperienced people who listen to the podcast and are doing x are better off than those that don't, but for experienced users it's not always the case and he will claim it absolutely. (for example, cookies are bad, absolutely)
However, then there is the outright incorrect things he says. For instance on the last one I listened to was about Perfect Paper Passwords (a one-time password system), and a listener mentioned that it was possible for the same password to come up again soon after it was entered, and that this was a weakness because someone with a keylogger might happen to keylog this one entry and use it again. Then Steve said that it was a weakness as well, and Leo just parroted Steve and agreed. However, it's not a weakness because the odds of a keylogged password being correct are the same as if the attacker mashed his head on the keyboard. There have been other times I have shouted out in my car "NO, You're Wrong!" while listening to the podcast, but this is one I can remember. - mleaman, on 11/23/2007, -0/+1Rumor Girls didn't make this list?!? >SHOCKED< :P
