We all know that time can't travel through tubes. - Switch22, on 10/12/2007, -2/+41I think web 3.0 is defined by web 2.0 mockups.
- aaryn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+33Remember when "Still in Beta" used to be a .gif image of "Under Construction!" in yellow and black?
- chickentonight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+30Any irony that web 2.0 is being dissed on THE web 2.0 success story - digg?
- cody50, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30†*Note: Profits for your Web 2.0 company are not guaranteed.
lol. - nelsonsa, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30Made me smile. I wrote one of these for Weekly Activity Reports once. Always handy.
- TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -5/+31Man, we're really going to ride this "internet tubes" horse to death aren't we?
- blakholephysics, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27Where is the AJAX???
- Frankie4Fingers, on 10/12/2007, -4/+27Not enough words in the dictionary, but it is funny and worth looking at.
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -5/+27And web 4.0 is the internet traveling through time.
Wait a second... - pairanoyd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21I have CNN on right now and they are running a report called TERROR 2.0
See what I mean?? http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/8153/vlcsnap1796404gm7.jpg
WTF is with this "2.0" *****??? That's all I see now, 2.0 this and 2.0 that..
Please, f*cking stop. - Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21ALLAHALLAHALLAHALLAHr(beta)
- Quactaur, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22Captures the essence of Web2.0; it comes out with innovative but useless ideas that all have a hint of je ne sais pas que which really irks me.
- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16***** man now you're talking web 0.5, back in ye old days o' frames and embedded MIDIs.
- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19"We all know that time can't travel through tubes."
Not with all those poker chips in there. - McMultiverse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Oh *****, the terrorists are blogging!
- petard, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Haha that made me laugh. It is so true, im sick of all this "web 2.0" crap. It annoys me how everything is "beta" and has those tag clouds with a weired name. Next thing will be Web 3.0 (alpha)
- mrmidgetman, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17"Man, we're really going to ride this "internet tubes" horse to death aren't we?"
and after its dead we'll beat the living ***** out of its dead body!! - pairanoyd, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14I too am sick of this 2.0 *****. It's nothing but hype trying to peddle snakeoil.. That's it, Snakeoil 2.0..
Everyone who's been around for any period of time knows that
DOT OH's SUCK...
Please, stop with the 2.0 *****. We have more than had our fill of it already.. - burningmonk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Becareful what you say about "dot oh's" or they'll roll out Web 2.1.
- RichPowers, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10The thing I hate MOST about Web 2.0 is the growing use of of the word "meta." For some reason, that word just drives me nuts, especially when people use it as an adjective ("that's sooo meta") Most pretentious word of the times.
- ntnwwnet, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9"design user-contributed communities"
Now THAT's funny!
(If you don't get the humour, think of the website you're reading this on.) - Klowner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Somewhere, there's a manager sitting at his computer, ferociously clicking that "make *****" button in a masturbatoriusly hasty manner, screaming "THEY'RE JUST GIVING THESE IDEAS AWAY FOR FREEE?!"
- stavrosTWC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I made this. It's cool that it's been dugg, and I'm pleased the web server seems to be holding up just fine under the Digghammer.
I was making fun, sure, but like I said in the footer on the page: I kid because I love. I'm not hating on the Web2.0 stuff, I just think it's funny and more than a bit goofy sometimes. - DocDEB, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Once Web 2.0 integrates semantic APIs to design blogging life-hacks and tag dynamic weblogs then we will harness viral communities to share standards-compliant blogospheres. It all makes perfect sense to me.
- Arkonnan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@Hootyea
I guess all those other user content-generated sites like Fark and Slashdot were just ahead of their time. - stavrosTWC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Some of it doesn't even make sense"
Hey, it's still in beta, after all! - Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6*****, and now you've posted a comment about it and wasted even *more* time. Someone stop the madness!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Iran - WMD's 2.0

http://*****.blogspot.com/ - Bucky, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6"And web 4.0 is the internet traveling through time."
Safety is not guaranteed. - Nodren, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4whats the big deal anyway? AJAX and web2.0 have become buzzwords, but is anyone really complaining about not having to reload a page everytime they want to do something like edit a forum post, or digg a story?
i've never been a fan of buzzwords either, but doesnt mean i'll go out hating the entire thing. and besides the companies that define the "web 2.0" era dont even boast being web 2.0(digg for example) - VSKBadCRC, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7This really reminds me of the Sloganizer, it kept me busy for at least 15 minutes as I ran through a slew of short phrases and words to see if I could generate something comical, then I got bored of it.
http://www.sloganizer.net/en/ - KMartSheriff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6TERROR 2.0 LAWL Web 2.0 is almost as overdone as "terrorists" and "weapons of mass destruction"
- rickcarson, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8And the web after that is defined by Candle + Monkey. :D
- DarkElf109, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@Hootyea:
Web 2.0: Thousands of voices saying absolutely nothing
That's the real problem I've found. That's what Digg revolves around. One person does something neat, thousands of people blog it/digg it/reddit/etc., and then, after a week or two, it's gone. Old news. So, while that one person did something neat, there are thousands that really didn't do anything at all. Heck, most just click a little button. And there you have it. Web 2.0. - slantyeyed, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7digg for profanity in the title
- DarkElf109, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3While 'meta' isn't a word, it is a prefix. For example, the idea of 'metadata'. It's data being used to describe data. Not part of the whole, but external, and associated. Tags, IDv2 and IDv3, all that stuff. It's just a really simple concept that people try to hype up. Or, for another example a 'metareview', such as those on Joystiq. It doesn't really give the opinions of the site, but the opinions from other reviews. External, associated data.
Mind you, this shouldn't be confused with mashups, where external, disassociated tools or data are used together to create a single end result. - webhead74, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've always been a fan of BullFighter:
http://www.fightthebull.com/
It was originally developed & distributed by Deloitte & Touche but is now handled by another group. It's just a macro that runs in word or power point which will look for common marketing ***** & assign a score. Very handy when dealing with consultants :) - musaad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Hilarious - you may want to forward this to some investment banking analysts, associates and managing directors you know so they can pad their pitch books with this *****.
- KnightMareInc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4phase 3: profit!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Thanks! This is one of the best infotainment shows ever.
- Hootyea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Artoo Potatoe, a Darth Tater and a Spud Trooper walk into a bar...
... I'm sorry. - OBKenobi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2We post stories from Techcrunch and Techcrunch posts stories from Digg. I think an infinite loop is going to be created. Who will Digg who!

"So today when I saw ***** on the Digg home page... " - thenonhacker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2OMG it's about Web 2.0 -- MUST... DIGG...!!!
- stavrosTWC, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4"Lame."
Gee, thanks. You must be fun at parties, too! - titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Phase 2: ???
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You mean 'where are', and who the hell cares.
Everyone, well everyoneone with a ***** detector, can tell that this whole 2.0 crazy/fad/crap is utter nonsense! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Why is digg.com web 2.0?
Seriously. Can someone please tell me how this site wouldn't be abl to work with web 1.0 (whatever the hell that was supposed to be).
I seriously don't get it. It just smacks of the same crap that caused the .com bubble to burst those few short years ago. A rather blatant way to either 1-lose money, or 2-con people into giving you money!
The web is exactly the same as it was 5 years ago but with a small pinch of net-evolution tossed in so sites don't look quite as bad. That really seems to be it. -
