- EGOvoruhk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Does customer loyalty really exist on the internet?
In real life the stores I'm loyal to, I'm loyal because of the atmosphere and people. With the internet, the atmosphere can easily be coded the same, and the people are anonymous. What's stopping me from moving to the next digg or Myspace? Nothing, as long as it has what I need - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'm sick of hearing about web 2.0.
- ZetaEta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2What it really means, as far as I can tell, is prettier interfaces with more in-panel interaction. Heavy use of ECMAscript and "HTTPrequest" objects, and all that stuff that used to be called DHTML (except it's using CSS this time around).
In other words, the user participates more, and the page URI changes less. And the designs look a lot more fashionable. - Lobster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There was an important point made. Web 2 is end user centered (like FOSS - though that tends to be programmer needs not general user)
User centered means WE the educated user choose what works and whether we will use. These companies then emerge with what works (for a while - then marketing and suits destroy it)
What is required is FOSS + Web2 = Firefox marketing
Web2 + Googlemoney (closed source) = Googlemail
Wii are the Web

Web 2.0 is about building communities ... so what? - JohnnyRnR, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1This story makes it seem that companies who missed the boat still have a chance to ride the rounded corner blocky letter to success, but this would only have been relevant to the internet at large if published a year ago.
- oddbob, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2How terribly banal.
- Jones105, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0What is web 2.0? Here's a decent explanation: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/oreilly/tim/news/2005/09/30/what-is-web-20.html
- johnc79, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I don't even know what Web2.0 means.
- jalenack, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Wait, Web 2.0 is about user-generated content? I thought it was about glossy logos and big fonts!
- slayerboy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+02X the amount of time wasted, as in 2X the internet addiction that supposedly was ripping apart families a few years ago and has lead to society as we know it to go from a name and a face to a nick and an avatar.
- m0laria, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Err wrong one sorry.
- omglawl, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2I drove your mom's revolution.
