- digitalpencil, on 06/18/2009, -0/+18I run Be and haven't had any issue (that said i've only been home for two hours and as the article states, only certain IP ranges had been affected). Regardless though, this new legislation is getting out of hand.. If they start forcing my ISP to cripple my line, i'm going to end up signing up for VPN.
Included in the Digital Britain Proposed Obligations:
• Blocking (Site, IP, URL)
• Protocol blocking
• Port blocking
• Bandwidth capping (capping the speed of a subscriber’s internet connection
and/or capping the volume of data traffic which a subscriber can access)
• Bandwidth shaping (limiting the speed of a subscriber’s access to selected
protocols/services and/or capping the volume of data to selected
protocols/services)
• Content identification and filtering
FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!! - inactive, on 06/18/2009, -0/+11When companies and governments continually break the law for their own benefit it just the teaches the public to treat the government and business in the same corrupt way as they themselves have been treated. Geniuses.
- vsujohn2, on 06/18/2009, -1/+7Unintentional? Lol...right.
- colonchancer, on 06/19/2009, -0/+3Chillax, all back up again. Be is the dog's knees tho. The only TRULY unlimited UK ISP. To my knowledge and to best DSL upstream, 200+kbps for me all the time.
- torrentfreak, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3Scary indeed, but these obligations you mention will only be used if the warning letters fail to deter (which they will).
We gave it a mention here: http://torrentfreak.com/europe-amps-up-war-on-pira ...
For those who are interested the full report is available here: http://www.culture.gov.uk/what_we_do/broadcasting/ ... - inactive, on 06/19/2009, -0/+2Yo, Brit Diggers, write to your MP. I know I will.
- Fhwqhgads, on 06/19/2009, -0/+2Yeah right. Can you write him a bigger check than the **AA? I thought not.
But if it makes you feel better by all means... - mrhahn, on 06/19/2009, -0/+1They're too busy getting their moats cleaned.
- Ninh, on 06/19/2009, -0/+1Relax, it was just a feasibility test
- MadceltUK, on 06/19/2009, -0/+1Think that Sky Broadband Max is also truly unlimited although the upload speed is better on Be.
