- soogy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Actually, both "barbecue" and "barbeque" are acceptable (the latter is where "BBQ" comes from), but "barbecue" is more common.
- veloscaper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5because BillyG didn't steal DOS, he at least gave the guy a bag of beans or something like a few $K.
However, technically this was after he already had a contract with IBM so he didn't really have what he said he had when he signed with IBM.
So the difference? the Feds didn't know and the guy who sold 86-DOS didn't know BillyG had a contract with IBM. Some would call it a shrewd business move, others plain dirty and the rest of the history is a study in monopoly dominance in the modern world. - Tijmen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What is worse? Stealing chip designs, naming your company so that Cisco will probably sue you, or giving your company a name which can be pronounced as either Sicko or Psycho?
- valkyries, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2thats gotta be the sortest artical that has ever made the front page.
anyways some of the US arcitects that designed chips back in the
coldwar left nice messages to their russian counter-parts that were
going to reverse-engineer it to make their own copy of the same chip. - theuber1337, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5@yensed
There is an enormous difference between stealing corporate secrets and making a good buisness move by legitimetly purchasing the rights to it.
If you're going to hate, get your facts straight... - hotdrop, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3why do psyorg pages always end up on the front page late at night its some sort of conspiricy
- deepsub, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Goddamn racists, always blaming someone that doesn't look like them...
- wmtrader, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3This spelling of Barbecue or Barbeque must be a regional thing because I have never seen Barbeque spelled with a C where the Q belongs, also all of the Barbeque places in California spell it Bar-B-Que, so it must depend on where you live as to how it is spelled.
The spelling Nazis are going to go nuts now that I have said this.
“No I say, there is only one way to spell a word…only one way!” Their minds scream as they read this blasphemy. - Y0tsuya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sysco?
- wholewheat, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5Goddamn Chinese. Always stealing *****.

- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -10/+7For the misspelling of "barbecue", if nothing else.
- Y0tsuya, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Here's a test. If you read Wall Street Journal or Businessweek, it's a shrewd business move. If you read Organic Gardening or some other hippie magazine, it's a dirty deal.
- Rhaegal, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5So wait, why hasn't Bill Gates been arrested yet?
- getrealnow, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1DDOS + DOS = PACKETED

- heymark, on 10/12/2007, -18/+7Barbeque chips?
- Rhaegal, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1I love how I can post an anti-Gates comment and get dugg even if it has no basis.
