- defjuan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm from Chicago, IL, and the feeling about here is that this guy can be something very special
- peacenik, on 11/08/2008, -0/+1Yup, The Future is a great place to be; a dream has come true!
- IronChef, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This guy is a rising star and just the shot in the arm this country needs. Bush has dragged our country down in the eyes of the world. Bush can't even take care of our own people in time of need. We need to look in our own closets before we can tell others what needs to be in their closets.
- zoltan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i still cant get over the fact that this guy screws around in tech!
- kungfustickman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've actually seen this guy before. He went to my school and we even got a chance to talk to him. He has my support.
- Deviant_Tech, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2No digg from me because it's a podcast that doesn't envolve Leo Laporte, Kevin Rose or any other old school TechTV name.
- Electric_Sheep, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Guys, John Edwards has been podcasting now for months. MONTHS!
- lordelric, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Let's be more specific jaymon.
"Have someone record my voice, and then have them put it on the website. I seriously doubt he does it himself."
Also the whole Clinton/Obama 2008. I think Obama is smart enough not to align himself with Clinton.
A "c" grade at Yale doesn't mean an "a" grade at some community college. That's idiotic. And just because he got a "c" average at Yale doesn't make him smart. If my daddy had millions of dollars, I'm sure I could have told the teachers off, skipped every class, and drank til I forgot my name and I would still graduate with a "c" average. The only reason he got in, was because daddy has a huge wallet. In fact dad has bought him everything he has failed at. The oild company, the Rangers, etc. come on this guy is an idiot.
But we all know that Cheney is the real president. - stanleyfresh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Barack Obama's got a podcast? Cool... but kinda creepy. He seems like the politician that's too good to be true or somethin. Digg for politician with a podcast.
- DFrag, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I like John Edwards too, but he does a lizard thing with his tongue every few seconds. (shudder)
Besides, I don't believe he can talk to the dead. - saysaknow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This should be on http://www.polidiggs.com/ not on here. :P
- rhyno2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The exclamation points are getting out of hand!!!!!!
- SilentSpyder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Man, the right wing sure has done a good year smearing liberals over the years. It's to the point where every democrat is a communist, tree hugging, tax hiking, unpatriotic, hippie. We need more democrats who will the same to the right. Anyway, I digg.
- spadin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Finally a senator that no one has concrete evidence about something bad he has done. Other than the usual, he's a communist or something bad is bound to happen rhetoric.
- MetalliMyers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, let's make this buy President just because he has a podcast.
- ScottyQuest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I am so glad I voted for this man, I can't even tell you.
- brian223, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Nice. This is typical Obama, always doing something impressive. I can't wait till this guy moves up in government...with a great deal of luck possibly even the Presidency. Unfortuantely, a large part of a country that claims to view each other in equal eyes does anything but that. It will most likely be a long time before a black man is voted president in the US, well at least until whites no longer have an overwhelming stance in society, I'm sure the vast majority of republicans would see Obama as the biggest threat to their value system should he ever run for president.
- übermensch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yeah gl with that, mr. black presidential hopeful ~_~
- RpgActioN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1But who, other than somebody who wants a laugh, would listen to it?
- drn666, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Forget "Clinton/Obama 2008!" - go "Obama/Clinton 2008".
- Wamzlee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Whitesanjuro,
I don't think Barack Obama voted for the Patriot Act, because he was just elected to Congress this past election, and I don't think the Patriot Act has been voted for renewal yet this year. - 01Tech, on 02/02/2009, -0/+1Amazing, this is a fantastic article even now.
I think I will blog about this article on http://01tech.net - condimentman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wouldn't really call Bush's address a podcast really. His is a .ram file, not so easy to put onto an iPod.
- Fieri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0WOW! OBAMA uses the same technology I do! I will now proceed to ignore all other issues and blindly vote for him if I even get the chance, ignoring all other more qualified candidates!
- Blizaine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bush's podcast is in iTunes....
- Lenoxus, on 06/15/2008, -0/+0I don't know why, but reading this here in The Future it's fun to point out that now, the third one is coming up either way!
- nolf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1this guy is a wolf in sheep's clothing mark my words
I have a sixth sense for people like this
don't trust this guy for a second - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's cool that some politicians are becoming (kind of) technologically-savvy, but I wouldn't want to listen to President Bush's podcast - (1) he's not that smart and (2) he mispronounces many simple words
- belac88, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0President Bush's "podcast" is not anything new. All president's have done something like this, usually on the radio, since FDR. You can still here the President's weekly address on some radio stations. It's the exact same thing as the podcast just through another medium. Obama is doing something new.
- kungfustickman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hey he indirectly relates to Twit. His website links to an article that mentions Twit and the Bunch.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/technology/chi-0507310056jul31,1,7431786.story?coll=chi-techtopheds-hed&ctrack=1&cset=true - DataLifePlus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Nice.... this guy is one of the few politicians I can stand. I Digg it.
- NoUse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0To be fair, the President's podcast is just his radio address in an RSS feed. This is content specifically created for podcasting.
- tannewt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Digg it. I'd happily vote for him for the presidency.
- kungfustickman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I just listened to the podcast and it's awsome. He's very "objective" and yet he still says what needs to be said.
- EPeters, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0^I was gonna say. I think alex mentioned this on diggnation, and it's been on ABC news, also. The President HAS a podcast (not that he has any clue how to subscribe to it, though).
- ronin832002, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Omg DUGG
Too bad he already said he's not gonna run for Prez this time around :-/ - woden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The President's Saturday Radio address is available as a podcast on the iTunes music store. And -- for all you dreaming of a Obama/Hillary or Hillary/Obama ticket, just remember that only 2 Senators have won the Presidency: Harding and Kennedy. That's despite the fact that a bunch of Senators from both parties run every time. Obama (and Hillary) would be better off running for Governor. Governors have a much better track record.
- krahzee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"No. The fact that he is Barack Obama means he is in touch with the people. This man is the most impressive thing to happen in politics for decades."
I not judging him either way, but when you run against a candidate who had to withdraw due to sex scandal (Jack Ryan, ex-husband of actress Jerri Ryan), only to be replaced from a guy running in the Illinois race despite being from Maryland (Alan Keys), it's a little hard to convince me you're some sort of political golden child because you happen to trounce the guy.
*****, Hillary moved here and beat a guy who entered the race late (due to Giuliani having prostate cancer), but at least she moved here first, before she ran. Keys didn't even come into the picture until after the primaries were over.
If he wins by this type of margin again, sure he's a fast rising player. Till then it's a case of right time/ right place. That's not to say he wouldn't have won, but he wouldn't have gotten the kind of margin that makes people talk about him as a wiz kid.
As far as the Podcast goes, good for him. I wish more politicians on both sides of the isle would try to have this kind of dialogue with their constituents. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0As previously stated, Edwards has had this for a long time. In fact, he had a podcast back before it was a big deal. His web team is comprised of a lot of the tech people from the Howard Dean campaign (who developed Civicspace, although most of those developers went on to work for another consulting firm with Joe Trippi). Senate Republicans and House Democrats have podcasts (or was it senate democrats and house republicans, I can't check at the moment).
Still cool.
Obama gets a pass on the Patriot Act as he was not in the senate at the time it was passed. The only Senator that voted against the PATRIOT ACT was Obama's Senator to the North, Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold. Check out his speech on the senate floor when he voted against it. Good read. - MonstersAGoGo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow how innovative.
Here is your President's Podcast - http://www.whitehouse.gov/radio/ - Jaymoon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, he can record his voice, and upload it to a website...
:-/ - unmarked, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What I like about Obama (at least for the moment) is that he hasn't been in office for the last 20 years.
I wish the other Senators would follow that example!! We could use some new blood throughout the Congress.
As for the President's "Podcast" -- the first step would be to make it available in a format other than REAL AUDIO. Who, in their right mind, podcasts with Real Audio? Apparently MP3 wasn't an option, since more people would be able to listen to it. - jemstar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1President Bush has had a podcast for months now too, and it has been in the top 25 or so podcasts for quite a while according to the iTunes rankings. By the way, for all of you Bush-lovers out there, go to hell you satanic dick smacks.
- eric_n_dfw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Off topic but, thanks for turning me on to pollidigs - looks pretty cool (and maybe it will pull some of the political talk here away)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0iPod users are all rich, white people.
- TeleCarlos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like Mr. Obama... he could save this nation.
Whatever negative things people would say about him... I don't know, but the present administration makes anybody look like an angel by comparison.
Is anyone else tired of so much "church stuff" is involved with politics? I am. Funny thing is they sing the song but then stab you in the back?!?!
Whatever right....
This guy is cool. Way better than anything I've seen lately. - rancemo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm not part of the "right wing", I'm a Libertarian! I smear both the right and left! Bush is a communist too, he's just better at hiding it!
- 8ight, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1obama is great. i'm proud i voted for him. how about a Obama/Clinton 2008? i like it =) really!
- rancemo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Too bad he's a communist!!
- ziggystardust, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Anyone who thinks that George "My way, right away, I'm the king now!" Bush even knows what a podcast is must be from another planet.
However to get all hopped up on BO over this it makes you seem ignorant.
I agree it is very cool. I like BO, however I want to see MUCH MUCH more of what he stands for before I pine for him to be in office.
Clinton will most likely run but BO is not ready to run with her. She has 3 times the amount of political history than BO. She will need someone solid as a rock lobster to run with.
I heard that Bush was given an iPod shuffle by an official from China and Bush immediately tried to make it skip by banging it against his palm. Finally he grew tired of that and just asked where the Pez dispensed from. -
