- bigthree, on 07/17/2009, -2/+13accounts are hacked daily, its full of spam submitters, it is becoming a link dump, and people love it...maybe they should tell their employees not to give out their account information and tighten up security a bit before suing blogs
- MrDoug, on 07/17/2009, -0/+10Honestly...I don't care. I'm not even sure why I should.
- IphtashuFitz, on 07/17/2009, -0/+9Again? They already threatened bloggers once today:
http://digg.com/tech_news/Will_Twitter_Sue_TechCru ... - inactive, on 07/17/2009, -0/+9I never know if I should love or hate TechCrunch.
- nwhysee, on 07/17/2009, -2/+10I guess thats one way Twitter can make money.
- Zorkon, on 07/17/2009, -1/+9I think TechCrunch has it coming, and I'd love to see them get sued (and lose) over this. Publishing another company's (illegally obtained by a 3rd party) documents? FAIL.
- manatee, on 07/17/2009, -0/+6Techcrunch shouldn't have published any of that stuff... don't blame Twitter for suing him on this one.
- rightmindx, on 07/17/2009, -2/+7Screw you, Mike Arrington, screw you!
- tpstigers, on 07/17/2009, -3/+7I don't care much about twitter, but I think TechCrunch should be spanked for this one, HARD. There is absolutely no justifiable reason to publish stolen documents. It's not 'news', by any stretch of the imagination. It is, however, sensationalist, and will generate traffic. So screw them. This is not acceptable behavior.
- strictnein, on 07/17/2009, -1/+5Hate
- 007brendan, on 07/17/2009, -3/+6A crappy blog analyzing another crappy blog's analysis of some crappy information from a crappy company. Buried.
- inactive, on 07/17/2009, -3/+6F*ck Twitter + 128 more characters.
- inactive, on 07/17/2009, -4/+7Twitter is irrelevant.
- luseton, on 07/17/2009, -2/+5Twitter, before you start your lawsuits, just remember what happened to Metallica.
- ThreeDee912, on 07/17/2009, -1/+3LOL TechCrunch
- TheTardis, on 07/17/2009, -1/+3They should have Tweeted it instead ;)
- ehaugan, on 07/17/2009, -0/+2Techcrunch sucks and so does Twitter.
- ATL, on 07/17/2009, -1/+2buried for misleading title
- nepidae, on 07/17/2009, -0/+1Explain why they shouldn't have published it? People publish leaked stuff all the time.
- deanc, on 07/17/2009, -1/+2Twitter aren't going to be able to do jack.
There is well established case law protecting techcrunch here. Anything they say otherwise is BS.
Having said that.....the internal notes are really interesting and gives a lot of insight to where they are planning ont aking the company.
Cheers,
Dean - LittleDas, on 07/17/2009, -4/+5It does seem like publishing stolen information, except in the case of whistle blowing, is really a douchebag thing to do regardless of whether or not it's illegal.
- esc27, on 07/17/2009, -0/+1Information leaks from companies all the time and for the most part no one except the company complains. This is just a larger and higher profile version of the same.
- rockrapdude, on 07/17/2009, -0/+1Should have put them up on wikileaks and then referred to them.
- NBCLocal, on 07/17/2009, -0/+1I agree but I do wonder whether blogs are protected by the same laws that protect newspapers, etc. They have been left out of a lot of legislation in the past...
- inactive, on 07/17/2009, -2/+2but the Crunchpad looks pretty cool!
- Redorb1790, on 07/17/2009, -4/+4Twitter needs to stop being a bitch about the whole thing. Millions of pieces of leaked information are published everyday. I think the only one who should be held accountable is the hacker as for the blogs it's freedom of press get used to it.
- darkism, on 07/17/2009, -1/+1It's the RIAA model.
- CaviMike, on 07/17/2009, -4/+3I'm not sure what's worse; people that think other people care about every insignificant mundane task they do throughout the day
or
the fact that people are - Elranzer, on 07/17/2009, -12/+4TWITTER TRACKER
