- collution, on 06/12/2009, -1/+23WELL I GUESS KANYE WEST WILL BE HAPPY!!
-KANYE WEST - kfcurley, on 06/12/2009, -2/+22This is great. Twitter and FB should start charging a fee for publishers to use their platforms. For example, take the NYTimes with 450,000+ fans on FB. They probably get 1,000,000+ page views from their FB updates. If FB started charging for this usage, the Times would have to pay - they're not going to drop that type of revenue. Twitter needs to start making that change as well; @CNN has 121,000 fans - that's a lot to give up.
- CleoQKazoo, on 06/12/2009, -10/+30You know twitter gets a lot of ***** but if you use it right it can be really helpful. Of course there are gonna be egocentric people who use it to tweet every time their taking a ***** but instead of shunning new technologies find a way to use it to your advantage and play the game.
- sockpuppets, on 06/12/2009, -0/+16That sockpuppet guy isn't the real sockpuppet.
- UselessTrivia, on 06/12/2009, -1/+9Twitter isn't new technology, but not for those reasons.
You can combine servers, programming language and databases in an infinite number of ways, each producing its own unique effects.
Voice recognition is just an implementation of programming languages...yet it's definitely still a distinct technology in its own right.
Twitter is just a blog that you can update and subscribe to via SMS. It's really not any more elaborate than that. It's an innovation, but not truly unique. - Jamizzy99, on 06/12/2009, -3/+11Will the real slim shady please stand up?
- mimigins, on 06/12/2009, -0/+7That fake Christopher Walken was so hilarious - especially when I read it in his voice.
- Yarkz, on 06/12/2009, -0/+6http://twitter.com/bossRickRoss This needs verification!
- Depthfunction, on 06/12/2009, -1/+7Why not just call them "VIPs"? That's what this amounts to.
- tomjm5000, on 06/12/2009, -1/+6There goes my elaborate ruse to pretend to be Carl Weathers
- Bloodwine, on 06/12/2009, -3/+8twitter power players? are they the cool tards who sit at the back of the short bus?
- asgardshill, on 06/12/2009, -0/+5Do you like fish sticks?
- 919kwjc, on 06/12/2009, -1/+5Will the real FakeMagnumPI get a badge?
http://twitter.com/fakemagnumpi - trentrezn0r, on 06/12/2009, -3/+7You know what's funny about this? Since people can no longer spoof celebrity's and businesses well, they'll get bored and Twitter will lose even more users than they currently do on a daily basis. Terrorizing Brittany Spears should be part of Twitters business plan. I call it the 4ChanPlan.
- TBagwell, on 06/12/2009, -2/+6what's twitter?
- BrendanSheehan, on 06/12/2009, -0/+4What's going on with this internet?
- speel, on 06/12/2009, -2/+6Who the ***** is Kanye West?
- Junkyarddawg, on 06/13/2009, -0/+3Ever been on a bus, and had to sit next to two 14-year-old girls discussing which American Idol contestant should win because he's cutest?
That's twitter. - samard2002, on 06/12/2009, -0/+3Wow. Now the people who want constant validation will actually get it! Anyone who applies for one of these is a douche. You are literally filling out an application to be a "celebrity". Good luck with that.
- FreddieD, on 06/12/2009, -1/+4Haha, from that site..
"The girl at Starbucks asked if my mustache wanted a coffee too. So I kissed her, hard, on the lips. Jail is not fun." - TwistyMcFister, on 06/12/2009, -2/+5Twitter helped me realize my life is far more interesting than I originally thought. Twitter was fun for all of a week, then it got really lame. Guess I expected way too much from it.
- williepepper, on 06/12/2009, -0/+2It's like digg, pump and dump.
- Coolaborations, on 06/13/2009, -0/+2I think this will significantly change twitter -- especially if twitter statistics apps take this into account (like I just tweeted: "Any #twitter #statistics #based on #unverified #accounts are #meaningless (see also my previous tweets ;) Only #verified #user #stats are OK". see http://twitter.com/nmw :)
For example: One way this could be paid for is for Microsoft to pay for the verification of any user that follows http://twitter.com/Microsoft -- oh, wait is second: is that the REAL M$? ;D - NeoTechni, on 06/12/2009, -3/+5FFS let her rest in peace already
- stuffradio, on 06/12/2009, -1/+3You don't have a twitter certified badge. Sit down!
- inactive, on 06/12/2009, -0/+2I live in Ireland and it's Friday, I may have been drinking.
- lotar732, on 06/12/2009, -0/+2If you're going to quote predator, his name is Dillon.... and Bennett is the villain in Commando.
only pointing this out because its the wrong character AND the wrong movie... but I guess that still makes me an *****. - asgardshill, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1I'm actually rather pleased with myself if I manage to take a good long satisfying dump. The depression comes only if I strain enough to pass a '47 Buick with curb feelers but get no results.
- soccernamlak, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1He sure hustles alot
- OmegaWolf, on 06/13/2009, -0/+1Why should celebrities get special treatment?
- theuserdylan, on 06/13/2009, -0/+1Yes hit up the Times for money. They're clearly rolling in it. That's like the poor stealing from the poor.
- protogenxl, on 06/13/2009, -0/+1No Shiny Badge for Major Nelson?
- redux2redux, on 06/12/2009, -1/+2"We don't need no stinking badges"
- Junkyarddawg, on 06/12/2009, -4/+5Yeah, it's done wonders for my ego.
- FredFredrickson, on 06/12/2009, -2/+2How can it be any more helpful than blogs, news sites, or rss feeds?
- inactive, on 06/12/2009, -1/+1WHAT'S THE MATTER BENNETT? C.I.A GOT YOU PUSHING TOO MANY PENCILS?
- bazzarr, on 06/12/2009, -1/+1I casually clicked on your link to check out FakeMagnumPI and now I'm following him. Thanks for the post.
- mikusd, on 06/12/2009, -2/+2How can they, then, determine who should pay?
- Junkyarddawg, on 06/12/2009, -9/+8Because being a twatter isn't already proof enough of an overinflated ego.
- DRT23, on 06/12/2009, -4/+3Stocktwits for example, very useful.
- inactive, on 06/12/2009, -8/+5Twitter isn't a new technology.
Servers, programming languages and databases have been around for a long time. - inactive, on 06/12/2009, -4/+1lol guys ok twitter rules and i dont see how this is going to make it any worse for the wear!!!!
- hollywoodphony, on 06/12/2009, -6/+2Hmm, I think I'll do this. My 347 followers demand it.
- BonitaApplebaum, on 06/12/2009, -8/+3I hope this won't stop people from making hilarious fake accounts like @jonbenetramsey
- inactive, on 06/12/2009, -14/+6That's 121,000 people who shouldn't vote.
