- banderbe, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19Twitter is ***** stupid.
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -4/+16Wow...I read it as TitTwist.
- sctechguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7At first glance, I thought it was something to do with TWiT. Come to think of it, Leo should do something like this, so that users of Digg can submit news articles that they should cover on TWiT.
* Thinks about who makes up the Digg user base*
On second thought, maybe not. - CZzyzx41, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Yep. Just like the internet, email and blogs. I mean really, who keeps a journal online? C'mon get real people.
Seriously though, Twitter just started. It will be further developed and once more features are added it will become far more attractive to users. For now, all us tweeters get is suffering through the current thing so that later on we can say "I was there from the beginning". When in reality, many of us really weren't there "from the beginning". Just "months from the beginning".
Oh who'm I kidding? - jav1231, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7@wokz:
You kids stay off my lawn! - junkalam, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10I agree. It's a techie fad that will eventually go away.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Well, twittering URLs is the kind of activity I'm not interested in on Twitter. It's not the same as promoting Digg buttons everywhere on pages, because that's the kind of activity Digg was designed for.
Twitter isn't a Del.icio.us or Reddit competitor, and this is going to set the wrong expectations for people just starting to learn what the site is. It's also not flexible enough for current users because the text is not entirely editable.
If they really wanted to make it useful, and appropriate to Twitter, this tool would be an AJAX widget that would open the Twitter 140-character text-input with some default text that could be manually edited. - mczolton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2... dig down ... wrong comment.
- martin77, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2twit off !
- Dumbledorito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@CZzyzx41: This is reducing blogging down to the "current song, current mood" garbage. Comparing it to e-mail only works if all one is sending in e-mail is a subject line.
Really, Twitter has all the interactivity of a blog with all of the depth of an instant message client. - TomP, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I use it as a mobile blog
- docillenstein, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It's not as much a techie fad as an incredilbly well-marketed assault upon techies. How is there such a disproportionately high amount of stories about Twitter being Dugg all the time?
- dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"It's a techie fad that will eventually go away"
It's a *well promoted* techie fad that will eventually go away, explaining why so many people seem to use it, although I don't see it lasting particularly long, unless they add something actually useful into it.
Currently the only vaugly-useful reason for using Twitter is a "mobile blog", but most few blogs contain anything interesting even when they have a lot of effort put into them - - dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was sure TWIT done something similar with http://del.icio.us? I know This Week in Media (TWIM) has an del.icio.us account you can send links too as suggestions for things to be featured on the next episode. Not too sure how well-used it was, but del.icio.us is far more suited to such a task than Twitter is
- meshman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just went there to see what it's all about. After looking at the main page, I haven't a freaking clue what it does or how it works.
- MikeOSX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1digg this, twit that...eh, whatever!
- simianstyle, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4it's like IM-ing for old people (aka "hip bloggers")
- 200iso, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@Dumbledorito: That's exactly why it's awesome.

If I post to anything, it'll be Kurt's poopr. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Well at first Twitter is use to update your friends what you are doing but now you can use it on many things, Advertise your blogs, Use it as a blogging tool for mobile, Broadcasting.. Some others use it as a free SMS worldwide... That's what you can do with Twitter..
