- Waskonator, on 12/31/2007, -1/+68Shaw, Canadian ISP gives advise on how to configure BitTorrent: “Set the KB/s LAN max upload speed [0:unlimited] value to 1.”
XD - iofthestorm, on 12/31/2007, -0/+29Haha classic:
The Pirate Bay about the Caribbean pirate Jack Sparrow:
“Hollywood is trying to ridicule us pirates by portraying us as crazy but sympathetic adventurers. Not far from the truth, but in the 21st century real pirates are riding other torrents than that of the ocean”
Thepiratebay is amazing. - badassninja, on 12/31/2007, -0/+26Some great lines on that list. The ISP telling customers to set their upload speed in their bittorrent program to 1KBps was classic.
- n0c0ntr0l, on 12/31/2007, -2/+19Wow, 50 Cent appears to have a brain, which is kinda surprising if you listen to all the ***** that he talks. But then again, whats more surprising is that people buy it.
- LeeSoong, on 12/31/2007, -2/+18' Dave Peters, frontman of “Throwdown” on supporting musicians:
“If you wanna really support a band, “steal” their album….help bury the label….and buy a tshirt when you show up at their show and sing every word.” '
He's right.
The band will earn more profit off of the $20 T-shirt or $40 sweat shirt hoodie,
than any other product or service.
If the band gets a cut of the food & drink $$ from a concert, that would be good for them too.
So, eat and drink, and drink again when you go to a concert - your helping your favorite musicians! - AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -7/+19Can't believe they forgot numerous people's cry when torrenting:

“The MPAA can most accurately be described as rabid, obsessed lunatics.”
Wow, nothing truer has ever been said. - merdiesel, on 12/31/2007, -2/+7“I’ll admit I had an account there and frequented it quite often. At the end of the day, what made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world’s greatest record store. Pretty much anything you could ever imagine, it was there, and it was there in the format you wanted.”
that got me a little choked up. - Buddhist, on 12/31/2007, -0/+4holy ***** pime taradox
- feliphe, on 12/31/2007, -1/+5Ernesto and his Diggers group did a pretty good job bringing TorrentFreak stories to the front page.
Happy 2008! - samuraipizzacat, on 12/31/2007, -0/+4I use Shaw and it's a piece of *****.
- Aorawn, on 12/31/2007, -2/+650 cent on filesharing: “What is important for the music industry to understand is that this really doesn’t hurt the artists.”
That's amazing that he said that. I'm going to buy one of his albums now, even though I don't like rap and probably won't listen to it. - Urusai, on 12/31/2007, -0/+4It takes clever people to produce ***** like that. I mean, any bumpkin can sit in his garage and make a horrible tape, but it takes professionals to blend that ***** so smooth that people swallow it without choking.

"That's a pretty fun little collection of quotes!" " - NJank, on 12/31/2007, -2/+2which is exactly right, except for the way it typically works:
"steal" the album, talk about how you'll buy merchandise at the concert you never go to, "steal" the next album...
It's not the fans that 'big' artists need in order to stay "big", it's the support of the general masses, who often buy albums and stuff because of enough die hard fan support (notariety, radio play, etc.). For the artist, a million dimes from CD sales is more than a thousand bucks from selling T-shirts. P2P becoming a primary music acquisition source for the general public will choke off significant revenue from the artists. maybe in the end that will be better, as it'll squeezed out the 'manufactured' music. But we'll see. - nastajus, on 01/01/2008, -1/+1well, got to keep it civil, respectable. we get plenty of ***** the riaa wherever we seek.

- TheCheat1989, on 12/31/2007, -0/+0IT doesn't matter how much we talk about it... they know its out there...this is just a medium for helping the regular users find out about whats happening
- inactive, on 01/01/2008, -1/+1The trend seems to be that the artists realize file sharing is good for them, the corporations deny that file sharing is good for them but it is, and the torrent sites are helping everyone. Can you feel the love in this room?
- cliffski, on 01/02/2008, -1/+1grow up.
- MFPOCKETS, on 01/01/2008, -1/+0oh i love torrentfreak. One of the only sites i check b4 digg

- juventusc, on 12/31/2007, -7/+2Torrentfreak is single handedly destroying the torrent community, Please STOP talking about torrents, you guys can enjoy the longevity of torrent sites, if you talk less about those sites.
- UtahPirate, on 12/31/2007, -11/+6That's a pretty fun little collection of quotes!
