How does that show they were 'gaming' digg in the first place???
Just because people are upset that something is changing doesn't mean they were abusing that something.
Plus, the stories that make it to the front page are interesting. I like that fact there are heavy users that help filter out the massive amount of crappy posts people put on here - NikZ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6"Ever notice that all the users who decided to remove their avatars in protest are being paid by Netscape?"
Yeh, we *noticed* that when it was *announced* months ago during the "Calacanis Paying Top Diggers" scandal. Do you think you have uncovered some kind of conspiracy or something?
And why have you linked to a "Traitors in American History" headline on About.com? What does that have to do with anything here? It doesn't support your belated observation, and it just looks like you are bitterly accusing the top users of being American Traitors while posing arbitrary rhetoric nonsense. And that is delusion on a Lex Luthor scale.
If this submission hits front page, it will ironically serve as irrefutable proof that those of you who have driven off the top submitters with this ridiculous "circle jerk" debate, have been absolutely instrumental in undermining the quality of Digg.com front page stories. - thedove, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4idk if they were gaming digg but just overusing a feature
- thedove, on 10/12/2007, -9/+9omg...if this is for real that is the dumbest protest/boycott i've ever heard. this is a ***** website, get a grip top users....go outside, throw the ball around with your old man, watch a movie at the theater instead of bitTorrent, etc.
angry bloggers are the worst. my guess is that the average age of the top users is 17. it's my assumption that the top digg users mistook the digg "friends" are really their friends. when krose said the system is going to change, they got sad b/c their "friends" were going away! guys, internet friends are not friends!
and that P9 guy is the most self-indulgent internet ego-maniac i've ever seen. no one really cares you left, we'll just submit and digg the stories he would have anyways. top digg users, you're not special you just have RSS readers and more time on your hands. god bless you for submitting good stories but yeah, we can take it from here. maybe if all you top 20 users defect to netscape they can a guaranteed 20 votes for their stories! have fun at a crappy website! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Netscape blows, it'll never be as popular as Digg. Look at their features, they suck. Ripoff merchants!
- talman, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Goes to show that they in fact were gaming digg in the first place, and now that they have been caught out they are having a whinge. (I am fully aware that this will be an unpopular view and will be dugg down, exposing some of the fundumental flaws with digg)

What is Digg?
