Enjoy. - Meowmix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8The Volvo is real, I've seen it.
Funny, when you're someone like me who goes to Lego conventions, these aren't all that strange. Ok, the knitting machine and difference engine are, but the rest are just basic sculptures. Incredible sculptures, but not out of the ordinary. Go to www.mocpages.com and browse around to find some really weird stuff, including a Lego bathtub with the "claw" style feet.
Here is Keith Goldman's Mocpage, where you can see his comedic communist regime, the Iron Reich.

Here is my favorite Lego creation, ever. The Lego Rubik's Cube Solver by JP Brown.
http://joi.ito.com/archives/2004/05/18/rubiks_cube_solver_done_in_lego.html - beelz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Missing the lego scanner.
http://www.geocities.jp/takascience/lego/fabs_en.html - Apethanon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8The difference engine piqued my intrested, and I ran a quick google for it. I located a site from the designer that explains it in detail, along with a few higher quality pictures:

Apologizes if this is redundant in relation to the article...by the time I saw it, the server was already a smoking pile of rubble. - Berkana, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I can't belive the LEGO reproductions of M.C. Escher's illusions didn't make the list. I had always wondered how Escher's works would look rendered in physical media.

If only he had done Escher's "House of Stairs". . . - trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Because it is a joke, Another permutation would be something like : I have a cat that looks exactly like it's a dog that looks exactly like it's a cat.
- xioner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5because geeks like legos ;-)
That, and I think the difference engine certainly makes this worthy of a tech site. - MiamiGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Makes me want to play with legos again.
I always wanted to build a "Leggo My Eggo" box out of Legos. hahaha - VanderVander, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Han Solo in carbonite is incredible. I wish I had that kind of time.
- Obsydian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm more along the lines of geek related, and what geek didn't spend hours building ***** out of legos? Damn, I miss those things...
- sfacets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The Han Solo one is great... How on earth did they make a Pinball machine out of lego? Must have stuck them together... the cheats! Waiting for that lego toilet now... or the Lego house - that would be awesome... rearrangeable rooms! Say goodbye Ikea! :)
- xioner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeh, those commercials always made me want to play with my legos :-P
- daworld, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5You know, the lego air conditioner actually looks like a real air conditioner....These creations are pretty sweet if you ask me. DIGG
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10I once built a Lego Lego castle. That is, a castle made of Lego pieces, made of Lego pieces. It was almost impossible to distinguish from the real thing (a Lego castle).
- firehydra2k, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Damn that's trippin. I want that car!
- vuzman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3See also http://digg.com/hardware/LEGO_Difference_Engine
- finkstar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Strangest? Or best?
- mabba18, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It's real but It's just a sculpture. If you read the link about it, it says there was even a contest to guess how many bricks it took to make.
- meefman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The Volvo takes the cake.
- wolphcry, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5an AC unit? That's allot of work for something boring?
- Pronoun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2>>>an AC unit? That's allot of work for something boring?
That guy got paid, so the subject matter was not for a love of the modern AC unit. - Strangers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2And that Lego Star Wars spaceship that went on eBay.
+Digg - codyman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That volvo is insane. Only thing is.. is the car for lego soccer moms?? :-P
Soemthing like a ferrari would have been better.... my2cents... - ChavezSA, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Very cool Lego creations, especially Han in carbonite. But it's missing a couple IMHO. The Lego Beretta and the Lego MP5.

http://mp5.malagraphixia.com/HK_MP5.htm - squenix1221, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wouldn't mind having that LEGO PC in my room...but I would be too afraid I would break it.
The Volvo is amazing too - ronaldpoi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The Volvo... by far!!!
- illegal_op, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was wondering why http://www.retronintendo.com had 50 guests
- theDrizzle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I cant tell due to the angle of the shot, but are the rims on the volve ACTUAL rims, or are they legos. from the angle it kind of looks like there is so relection, giving me the sense that its actually metal...idk...maybe i'm the only one who thinks this. either way it is an amazing creation...i need a lego store near me...too bad nobody wants to put anything up near the mistake by the lake (aka erie pa).
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3The coolest legos I've ever seen. and I'd hate to think of what would happen to that Volvo if you tried to move it, haha.
- WDot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's kinda funny. The Ipod is done in only a few bricks while the Volvo takes a zillion, yet they both show up in the article. Guess it's not quantity kids, it's quality. ;)
- quietk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2sooo cool
http://image.host.quietk.com/11quietk_3d.jpg - goldenmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3wow. the piano is most impressive to me
- revenant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The Han Solo is a-w-e-s-o-m-e. I want one for my study wall. :D
- newbietheatre, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5I think Han and the Harpsichord are very cool.
- illu45, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The harpsicord and volvo are best, IMO.
- xunil2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's a castle made to look like it's made out of big lego pieces, but it is made out of little lego pieces.
Like a giant upscale of a lego castle. - Dufresne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Their work yeilds an amazing result, but would it really be worth spending three months making something like that (the car must have taken more)?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Really cool. I love legos!
http://www.gfx.com - bhamfd22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0These are some really cool LEGO applications. My cousin who works for TUFT's CEEO told me about the pinball machine - WOW (my 9 year old was drooling at the pictures)
- neste, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0One excellent lego work is missing - The Grandfather Clock made of legos:
http://www.ericharshbarger.org/lego/clock.html - ramped, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Is that Volvo for real? That looks way too amazing to have actually been done. Do I smell a Photochop?
- cvstageman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0a lot of the design work is done by creating the models in a CAD program on the computer, so i'm not sure if it takes three whole months to do it. the designers can just print out the instructions to build the model. -- Source: Legoland California
must be one incredible process! - everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5awsome stuff. those lego sculptures like that car are a treat to the eyes
- chippunk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The Volvo looks freakin amazing..... dugg!!!
- shannonkay, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4I've been staring at this sentence for a good few minutes. please explain "a castle made of Lego pieces, made of Lego pieces"... what?
- the1casey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Some people definately have way too much free time. Cool, nonetheless.
- antdude, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I don't know if they are considered weird. I consider them cool!
- Mongoose, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Sweet!!! All the LEGO things of late in one post!
- honarparvar, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1cool but it's better to be more tech related here, isn't it?
- orangeRam, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Sculptures like the A/C and the Volvo can be seen at any Lego store in the country
