- museo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16My favorite buried comment was where someone tried to teach Kevin Rose (digg creator) the point of digg....
http://www.digg.com/software/Firefox_2_Officially_Released - spaztech, on 10/12/2007, -8/+22Inaccurate. Here is one of my favorites though with 496 Diggs:
"I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords." -Signalis
From the 'Giant Bugs in Germany' post: http://www.digg.com/space/Giant_bugs_in_Germany. - MightyGiant, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Most buried comments on one story?

You forgot to plug your blog in your post. - stevesearer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Okay here is a shameless plug for the most buried comments submission:
http://digg.com/tech_news/Top_8ish_Most_Buried_Comments_in_Digg_History - Nougat, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14#10 is definitely my favorite. I'm going to go dig it up right now.
- spaztech, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11http://www.digg.com/space/Giant_bugs_in_Germany
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Instead of doing something constructive for the Digg community, what should he be doing? Sitting on his ass all day ridiculing people like you? Grow up.
- naturalphenom, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11It would have been a lot cooler if this thing was a spider that crawled dig, parsed the pages, built a database, ranked comments by # of diggs then updated the top ten every 6 hours.
I'll get right on that. - foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7People have started digging down those comments. Kevins in the MS sends cake went from 750 to 610 in line 10 minutes
- stevesearer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Thanks for all the help people, I just updated it. It quickly turned into the top 15 :)

need I go on or can the burying begin? - Calypsoaf, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10Where is the most buried topic blog?
Love to see that. - BowieX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5In all seriousness, I'm a fan of digg and I hope that diggnatives don't get caught in the trap of emulating politicians by focussing on the popularity of their comments rather than the truth of what they really think.
- Flawless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4http://digg.com/apple/Alternate_iTunes_7_UI#c3068894
At -576, this one'll probably make the top 10 of the most dugg down comments.
And rightly so... - dawgma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@merreborn
It's the 5th most dugg comment ever because it was used *perfectly* to describe Google's purchase of YouTube.
Most of the time Leeroy Jenkins is said just to remind people of the funny WoW video... but this time it was used to describe the purchase of YouTube. While every other major internet/ media company was still working out the numbers trying to decide whether or not YouTube was a wise investment, suddenly Google appears almost out of no where with a deal for the full purchase price of YouTube.
It was an awesome, clever comment! - norbiu, on 11/07/2007, -8/+11Number 4 should be this guy:
http://digg.com/design/Vote_Stephen_Colbert_not_Chuck_Norris_for_Bridge_in_Hungary#c2694756 - steelmaverick, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8take out the period at the end of the link
- hutectro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Digg is not what you think it is ---digg is run by small group of people who think
it's cool to rip people off. Think about it. - vudicarus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Let's mod those ***** down."
But not too much that they make the Most Buried list. That way they're losers either way. - shrewduser, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i had a comment that got around 500 diggs:
http://digg.com/design/Awesome_3D_Digital_Face_Could_U_Tell_if_U_Did_nt_Know
"the conversation i just had with my brother:
me: hey brother check this out
*shows CG woman*
brother: i'd bang her...
me: she's CG...
brother: i'd bang the rendering farm." - smellinator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think some of the funniest lines get buried the most. Not sure if it's because most people don't read the whole comment, or because I have a warped sense of humor.
Case in point:
http://www.digg.com/tech_news/Googlebot_destroys_incompetent_company_s_website
Look at the reply to the 2nd high-level comment (that starts "Wow.. Just Wow... "). The reply (currently) has -103 diggs. But I thought it was classic! Well crafted, and appropriately "troll-ish". hilarious too! - miriclaire, on 11/07/2007, -0/+2Search for comments in digg and you'll find one with over 2100 dugg up, and then withing that comment sthread someone posts one with over 2100 dugg down. crazy.
- bluemist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Made me wanna look at my own comments to see what got digged best...
(checks)
er... at least I broke 2 digits... - Bllasae, on 12/24/2007, -0/+2Now he's at -720, lol.
- dhughes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2 I have nothing to say other than to comment in a digg story about digg comments. This is like a snake eating its own tail.
- stevejobs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1***** reverse psychology!
- TechnoGuyRob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What about
http://digg.com/tech_news/Digg_Forces_Shutdown_of_DiggGames_com_Domain - vudicarus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I think you wanted this story:
http://digg.com/world_news/Army_recruiters_dupe_students_to_enlist - Stonekeeper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i440 only had one comment in the top ten? Quite frankly, I'm shocked.
- EtherGnat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The scary thing is I remember almost all of these comments. I spend WAY too much time on Digg. I enjoyed most of these comments, but it is a bit sad there aren't more insightful and intelligent posts on the list. I guess anything that requires thought is more likely to be controversial or skipped over.
It does provide a good insight into why sound bites and talking points are so effective for politicians though. - bhagany, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5THAT's one of your favorites? Do you realize that it's just a formula? People on Slashdot are saying "I, for one, welcome our ________ overlords" every other story. It's not original at all.
- IareKEVLAR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm giving him a run for his money... http://digg.com/tech_news/Top_10_Most_Dugg_Comments
Too bad that was a legit comment. haha - Universal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The top 10 longest comments would be neat, too.
- smellinator, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Better yet, try to keep him at zero... No record for you!
- inactive, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1If you simply said "On the buried list," you could probably have gotten in the top 10.
- xeno439, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1 I thought this was a good post. but he forgot to include http://www.mp34.us and http://www.thatsprofound.com along with http://www.directorysubmit.us
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Vudicarius,
The article is being "updated on the fly" If you would have seen the article before it hit the front page you would understand. The simple fact that the list is now above 10 and 1-10 are changing second by second confirms my original point....That at the time of my comment the list was inaccurate. - SamKellett, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://digg.com/software/25_of_the_best_extensions_for_Firefox_Have_It_Your_Way#c2444213
+432 diggs "Microsoft is paying an infinite number of monkeys to mod down an infinite number of firefox comments." -- crilen007
Deserves spot number 9 on your list. - miaow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2all classics
- vudicarus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3recursive...and old. see 25 similar comments above
- miriclaire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This was way up during the original posting--dugg way down, now--over 250 days later.
- dstart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It is meaningless.. just like mine :)
- CoNGreen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Dipping down pedophile trying to ***** 9 year old girls... no thanks...
