Man... Time has REALLY been sucking ever since I won man of the year - gamasutra, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45where's wikipedia?
- alexmensen, on 10/12/2007, -5/+45Myspace is on there not digging this...
- rig0rmortis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20But no porn?
- krux, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16inaccurate... digg is only listed once.
- deanlowe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Does Time/CNN even know what "cool" means??
- aura, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14dugg for just having them all on one page
- nerogtr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Facebook?
The fact that Facebook is absent from the list is a bit of a shame. Although it doesn't have the massive user-base that Myspace has, I don't think anyone here disagrees that it is 10x more innovative, and a much more elegantly coded site. - omgbanana, on 10/12/2007, -0/+131. Yours
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15Wow, for one, you copied that from another story, and for two, it's really not very relevant at all.
Digg-whore. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Good list, yes, but I'm really surprised Last.fm didn't make the cut for the entertainment category.
- bigpeeler, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Yes. Time knows what's "cool". You go, Time.
- ericrous, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Time knows "cool" like nursing-home residents know "sexy."
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8"Cool" websites. Dee dee dee.
- m1th, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7to complement the man of the year award, they should have made localhost or 127.1.1.1 the coolest website of the year.
- colpridenyc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Oh, yes my fault. Didn't check that. *embarrassed*
- TheSource, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7If you click on the name of the website, it will take you to a short description.
- devindotcom, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10it's "coolest," not "best."
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Since when does Time magazine have it's thumb on the pulse of the Internet to be an authority on the "coolest" websites?
- strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Companies like to make money?
- jron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5AND links to all of them!?11@@!!!! Duh...
- web.phreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4No Google??
Wikipedia should definitely be there...
How about Flickr.com...? - sekyuritei, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5TMZ? An AOL/*TIME*/Warner site. how many other of their own sites are listed? At least they didn't list video.aol.com. Did I mention how hard it is to unsubscribe from any of their magazines... or AOL. Do I see a trend?
- blaze03, on 10/12/2007, -11/+15And don't think it's not going onto my resume.
Awards:
"Time 2006 Person of the Year" - DF25863, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I agree. I was shocked to not see Facebook on there.
- r00tus3r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5They kinda take away from the excitement of the whole thing by not numbering them. It's an "ok" list, but not very well presented at all.
- davidosomething, on 07/17/2009, -1/+4*127.0.0.1
- lbtori, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Last.fm IS cool.. it should be there
- Steve95613, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Works fine for me. I am also using Firefox 2.0.0.1
hmmm.. - Nok1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2works for me in 1.5.0.9 and 2.0.0.1
- corsiva, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2We had to change banks to get away from them a few years ago. We kept canceling and they kept taking our money.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"magazine" is a verb?
Oh, no, wait. You just don't know what an apostrophe is. - ishmal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3No more "Year in Review" articles please. These are just throw-away articles that journalists write weeks ahead of time, so that they do not need to work during the holidays.
- wayhip, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Time + cool = "does not compute"
seriously, the web changes so rapidly, and printed media is so much slower, this is just non-sense. - AzraelRenegades, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I just checked out Farecast.com, one of the sites on this list and it seems pretty cool. They can tell you whether or not you should buy airline tickets now, or wait because they think the price will drop. If it's actually accurate, then it's sweet.
- thecahos1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Ya and digg is on there.....All of the links work
- utcursch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You can tell them the sites they've missed out:
http://www.time.com/time/question/50coolest06.html
Besides, the e-mail address of the author (Maryanne Murray Buechner) is listed as well. - nixfu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2
No newsvine.com?!
Oh yeah...most people on newsvine don't link to Time.com since their articles are all crap. - utcursch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm using Firefox, and it's alright.
- D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Kinda a list of what I(and I assume you as well) already knew...A list of the 50 sites you didn't know but are really great should be on there...
Odeo should have also gotten on the list...Maybe make a pirate category for Pirate Bay - Darkhacker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@chozsun
oh yeah, because every emo teenager reads Time. >_> - Nok1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If only people understood your witty remark :)
- demonsofgoetia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1McAfee SiteAdvisor is listed but not Ubuntu.com? LAME!
- armbar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Polling, this is for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91MtHvcespM
- justice7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1lol, is it good to be listed in the same directory as Myspace?
- kurtu5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1192.168.1.1
- xptweakerntn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wonder if they have the hyper-links in the printed version?
- tmiller51, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's me holding up the "4" sign.
- nacquatella, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Winner:
YOUR SITE! - sh1595, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Google Spreadsheets made the list. Though the other services are at least as "cool" but perhaps Time didn't want Google to dominate the list, or maybe they were going more for sites than tools. But no Flickr? Come on, that one is a no-brainer top ten for sure. Picasa Web Albums? Not so much ... .
