- DIGGADEEP, on 01/02/2008, -5/+92geeze 50 ficking pages. waste of TIME!
- luke16, on 01/02/2008, -10/+61Surprised that 2girls1cup.com did not make it this year. Maybe next time.
- DesertDude, on 01/02/2008, -9/+51You'd think those Time internet experts (making a list of the best things on the Web) would avoid such a rookie mistake. 50 entires on 50 different pages? No thanks. Browsed the first few, got bored out of my ***** mind of clicking "Next" and closed it, and I don't care what I missed.
- unicronband, on 01/02/2008, -5/+36Where is Digg?
- inactive, on 01/02/2008, -12/+39Hey morons, Digg isn't oh there because Time doesn't want to acknowledge a gathering of left wing campus trash, 13 year old atheists , Ron Paul supporters, and lolcat images.
- wild, on 01/02/2008, -2/+20Why not use their own list app (which is in a handy link at the bottom that says "See complete list")
http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,2 ... - syncr, on 01/02/2008, -0/+14Digg is on a separate list "Top 25 Sites We Can't Live Without" with other big players like Amazon and Craigslist...
http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,2 ...
Seems like the 50 list are mostly small fish that Time wants us to know about. - kingcam, on 01/02/2008, -2/+16no digg, no digg.
- wild, on 01/02/2008, -3/+14They have them all on one page here:
http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,2 ... - MISDIREK7ED, on 01/02/2008, -0/+11Fatsecret.com: "This social network is dedicated to helping people who are trying to lose weight. The site, which is free, uses pie charts and graphs to provide concrete information about what works for its members—and what doesn't."
Ya think that maybe they should have used something other than PIE charts? Thats like tracking an alcoholics sobriety progress with a Bar Chart.. - luke16, on 01/02/2008, -2/+122006
- Tezdoll, on 01/02/2008, -0/+10dugg for ascii art
- seanthebond, on 01/02/2008, -0/+9No, its cause Digg has been around since 2004, its not new in 2007.
- gllopc, on 01/02/2008, -1/+10Agreed. I use Mozy, and I love it - BUT, I don't visit it's site. To me, it's just a service that runs in the background, not a website.
- doshindude, on 01/02/2008, -4/+13Buried for being on separate pages.
- misterpony, on 01/02/2008, -0/+9They tried to put it all on one list here: http://tinyurl.com/23mzb2 It's a crappy flash app that you can't copy/paste or even see all of them at once, but it's better than nothing.
- gttim, on 01/02/2008, -1/+7I just clicked the "View Entire List" link and looked them over, and then checked out the ones that looked interesting.
- Primous, on 01/02/2008, -3/+9Well right on the first page is a little button that says see the complete list >>, you just dont know how to read i think
- SantaDuJuan, on 01/02/2008, -0/+44chan newfag
- seanthebond, on 01/02/2008, -1/+5They said 'new' sites.
- random12345, on 11/16/2008, -0/+4Its in the 25 Sites We Can't Live Without list
http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,2 ... - scabbers, on 01/02/2008, -1/+5TL;DR
- imcostalong, on 01/02/2008, -2/+5I must agree, StumbleUpon.com is a pretty BADASS website.
I spend most my work day there lol (just kidding boss) - SEANWOOKIE, on 01/02/2008, -6/+9No 4chan????
- tidu, on 01/02/2008, -1/+4hmm, that's more lolworthy than I expected.
- notmike721, on 01/02/2008, -0/+3Its crap, last year time magazine had their list of websites you couldn't live without, and then six month later 3 of those websites ended up on their 6 bad websites list. Pretty much, they go for hype.
- littlebluedevil, on 01/02/2008, -1/+4wow, there was some really good stuff there :D
- olgam89, on 01/02/2008, -2/+5these websites are crap
- KSUdesigner, on 01/02/2008, -0/+3You clearly didn't read the comments before you posted.
- emalen, on 01/02/2008, -1/+3I know lots of you already knew about these, but for those of us who don't spend hours a day wandering about the net, this article was extremely helpful. I plan on visiting several of the sites mentioned with useful services.
- BurnTees, on 01/02/2008, -1/+3i did the exact same thing
- shinon, on 01/02/2008, -0/+2that site could use at least use oneadose stylesheet thingies.
- mt4055, on 01/02/2008, -0/+250 pages = 50 sets of ads
- unicronband, on 01/02/2008, -1/+3Digg images?
- BurnTees, on 01/02/2008, -0/+2i know! mine's not up there either! bunch of crap if you ask me.
- tom6a, on 01/02/2008, -0/+2This list was published six months ago...
Time's 50 best websites of 2007 - Prosper scores again
http://prosperlending.blogspot.com/2007/07/50-best ... - mugwumpz, on 01/02/2008, -0/+2very nice. I laughed.
- jamesmcm, on 01/02/2008, -0/+2www.totse.com should've definitely appeared on that list. Fail.
- unicronband, on 01/02/2008, -5/+7Maybe if they fix the comment system we'll make it next year.
- Tezdoll, on 01/02/2008, -0/+2irony...
- Brymcon, on 01/02/2008, -2/+4Terrible Terrible list!
- inactive, on 01/02/2008, -1/+3the internet is a magazine killer, a tv killer, and generally a big brother killer.
- hoggmonster78, on 01/02/2008, -0/+2Not all of those sites are new this year. Stumbleupon, LinkedIn, StarWars.com...
- jayakumark, on 01/02/2008, -0/+1Whether sites are good or bad..I wasted some time in finding what Operating systems those servers run all except following sites runs some version of Unix or Linux.. The below sites run Windows...
50 best:
cellswapper.com
expertvillage.com
glimpse.com
wotartist.com
prosper.com
ingdirect.com
worst sites :
myspace.com
Cant live without :
factcheck.com
ebay.com - b8man99, on 01/03/2008, -0/+1One of the first sites they recommend. Photonhead: "Everything you need to know about digital cameras: which one to buy, how to use it and tricks to getting the best results, all delivered in snappy prose."
Except the digital camera recommendations page (quick picks) was last updated in Sept 2004. - kjcdude, on 01/03/2008, -0/+1It's neither.
Digg isn't on there because its listed on the top 25 sites we can't live without.
Why aren't you asking why google isn't on there? that's because it's on another list. - ThemUser, on 01/03/2008, -0/+1ohh you like http://www.askTheAdmin.com and http://www.bauer-power.net also? What a small world both of those sites rock Mary!
- jayakumark, on 01/03/2008, -0/+1I Used netcraft.com to find those..Its great to hear that very little runs microsoft tech and as far as i know new startups use linux..But in Web server market apache is going down ..It was nearly 70% in Aug 2005 but now it is 49.57%. This is little contradictory right ? And i know there are search engines to find what Javascript library a site uses but so far i have not crossed any sites that can be used to find what programming language a site uses.I guess most of them will be php as i could see mod_php in Web servers of most sites..and one or two ,i see using mongrel Web server so it must be Ruby on rails.
- digjam, on 01/02/2008, -0/+1I know digg isnt on there... but so is amazon , craigslist, ebay , youtube etc... bcos these are pretty bigass websites..
the ones listed there are mediocre upcoming nascent websites..which will be long gone before mid 08 - wvdavis, on 01/02/2008, -0/+1Did anyone check out their "5 Worst Web Sites"?
http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,2 ...
The list IS shorter, though still on separate pages. Their No. 1 just scares the hell out of me!!! That is some bad estrogen driven stuff!! -
