- durrty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oh, and there IS an MP3 of it, its on the right hand side on top. Its free and you dont have to signup for anything, just click through.
- brhad56, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There is a copy of the song here: http://www.boycott-riaa.com/article/8187
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You've gotta keep reading the entire story through to the final page. I think there are six or seven pages in all. The end is the best.
Here's the link to the MP3... http://www.zug.com/pranks/riaa/ - madwaxer, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1http://www.jamendo.com/en/about
- antiTRACE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@freonchill - "...w/out the written and expressed consent"... so when I call Dell, and many many others that have the legal disclaomer "these calls may be recorded for quality assurance purposes" they are breaking the law? I believe you meant that you must be notified of such a recording, either one or both sides of the conversaion must agree (e.g. if you don't agree, you hang up when you hear the recording beeps, or have been notified.). Some states it is just ONE side, and others its BOTH sides must know. As for WRITTEN and EXPRESSED, I don't really see that as a requirement.
- durrty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The fact that it is so hard to get ahold of the RIAA is very ironic, I love it.
- danbruno, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I love that Phish replied. That's gotta be old, though -- it's from before they broke up (and, for that matter, before iTunes was released for PC).
- fattyJ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1best part is when he calls apple
JH: Why don't you guys support PCs?
APPLE: Because we're Apple. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this is sooooooo hilarious. "can you hum the songs to me" lmfao
+digg twice - reclusivemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Add .nyud.net:8090 for a cache

- philovivero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1To the story submitter: You spelled "too" right. In any two-word story summary, you must misspell at least 50% of the words, and "funny" is hard to misspell.
- phate86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this site is OLD; I read this RIAA prank on the site 4 months ago! Still, it is hilarious, so +Digg
- ajaykilkenny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hahaha that is how its done
- mentor972, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0DOS Attack on http://musicunited.org/
Viva la revolution!! - antic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What about:
Dear Band X,
I just downloaded a bootleg mp3 of a concert you played in Tokyo. Since you never released this stuff, I don't know how much to pay you for it. If you can think of a price, let me know. Otherwise, I'll wait for the money grubbing RIAA to kick my door down for enjoying your art. - dcharti, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, great job. Someone prank called an "executive." Prank calls sure are hip and happenin'. Any chance this was simply some clueless secretary who barely knows what an MP3 is?
- thegr8joe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I chuckled for about 5 seconds and then it got tired very fast. I'm sorry, but this is something my 11-year old nephew would find funny.
- MedHead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0...did everyone just finally find zug.com or something? This site has been around for years.
- Mongoose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hahahaha!! might be old, but it's pretty funny.
- h0dg3s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is YEARS old, stop posting garbage
- schrags, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The funniest thing is that Beethoven's Ninth Symphony doesn't have any copyright crap on it because its so old and the copyright expired. MIT has a distro site i do believe of a bunch of classical music for which you can download.
- republicoftexas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Funny, but the credit card one is better. Digg++
http://www.zug.com/pranks/credit/ - DurangoSteve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That was my favorite digg of all time...
- Exploited, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's funny, but it has been around for a while... I originally read it a few months ago.
- TechnoPops, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Didn't find it particularly funny, but dugg just for giving the people a phone number for the RIAA.
- schrags, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ok now i see it, it wasn't there a second ago!
- Kashey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0BTW musicunited.org is up and running but in the list of associations I could find any National Association of Trance Recording. D&B Foundation of America. Psy and Goa Society of Composers. Future-Pop American Federation.
EBM Music Managers Forum. - dumbtech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Zug rocks! :D
- Cambo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0kind of funny but not really.
- matx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://64.233.187.104/search?q=cache:ZMDfyHtiPQAJ:www.zug.com/pranks/riaa/index2.html+&hl=en
why not google cache it? - JoshRulzzAtWork, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Is there a program that dials and hangs up over VOIP?
Woah, easy there, tiger. That's the last think we need - a tool to spam people on the cheap over VOIP. Yeah, it'd be funny, but it's a double-edged sword - acontorer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Surely someone could do something funnier than this. No digg.
- kleinishere, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that's freaking hilarious.
- silverfox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i found out how you can talk to a person at RIAA (i just figured this out, dead serious it works)
1. call 202-775-0101
2. they say that they are busy and then give you a bunch of options, press 1
3. key in the name 'Smith' (76484)
4. give the extension 4567
5. wait and somebody will answer :) - metafore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0:D
can't wait for the digg effect to wear off, i must hear teh mp3z. the google cache was enough for a laugh, though. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://blogcritics.org/archives/2002/10/01/101011.php
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is there a program that dials and hangs up over VOIP?
- compu73rg33k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That was ***** hilarious.
- Amplix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0digg effect... don't see anything :(
- rusty_g, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0digg effect...
- kevcoles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Now, how about an address?
- TheRealPod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I hope they get thousands of calls to that number.
- Kashey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0LOL. I did the same thing with a local parking ticket office. Don't have a transcript but I remember saying something about being a criminal and asked if I need to call the police and give myself in. Will I have a free lawyer if I could not afford one. Could some one bail me with some money. Could I receive a lower sentence if I gave out the names of my friends involved in the crime?.
- h2d2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I read these like 2 years ago... still funny though.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1(202) 775-101
Just called them and told them to suck my balls, the number is real. - EagleY, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0(202)7750101 lol i like the mp3. Thanks @software2
- bigteebo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Will there ever be a webserver/webhost that will take the # of hits fark/slashdot/digg/any other 'links to other sites' websites dish out? Come on it's almost 2006.
- Ledwolf555, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's only illegal to record calls in most states if neither side knows, but one side can record it most times...
