- nogoodusername, on 08/18/2008, -2/+80digg is broken.
please fix. - gtluke, on 08/18/2008, -11/+84i thought the politics of digg was marxist socialism
- G_money, on 08/18/2008, -7/+77if (story.getURL().contains("huffingtonpost"))
story.moveToTopOfFrontPage(); - badfrog, on 08/18/2008, -1/+52And 20,000 Huffington post articles a month!
- Darren07, on 08/18/2008, -1/+43No site is free of trolls. They'll eventually consume everything. Including the universe.
- BXRWXR, on 08/18/2008, -1/+42Internal Server Error is the politics of Digg?
- shutaro, on 08/18/2008, -2/+43There's only one way to fix digg... Kill the Batman.
- virtualblogger, on 08/18/2008, -1/+41I dug this because I thought it was a great article, but I have a question about dupes.
How come this same URL was posted a number of times?
I thought the algorithm or something is supposed to block the same URL being posted multiple times.
If I try and post an article that is already in the system, I get redirected to the article that has already been posted. - inactive, on 08/18/2008, -13/+52Obamabots?
***** I have politics turned off. Stop it Obama supporters! - 10goto10, on 08/18/2008, -5/+41The Duplicates In Digg: http://digg.com/tech_news/The_Politics_of_Digg_2
- riskybeats, on 08/18/2008, -6/+40Where else would I get my daily source of 4chan and Obama in a nice neat package?
- inactive, on 08/18/2008, -2/+31Anyone notice how Mrbabyman, Zaibatsu .etc are always logged on submitting stories.
Now is that possible for a single person to do? Well it's not there is more than on person using those accounts. - Heidenreich12, on 08/18/2008, -5/+32I may not be a fan of Barrack Obama, but the one thing I don't enjoy about digg is if your not, you get dug down right away. I did laugh when i saw that picture though, +1
- inactive, on 08/18/2008, -2/+26i like the part where digg is being gamed
- davidg11, on 08/18/2008, -4/+28I would like to know Digg's revenue sharing agreement with the Huffington Post.
All I know is that I've learned that apparently McCain is satan and Obama is the new Messiah.
Thank you Huffington! - inactive, on 08/18/2008, -8/+31The good news is that,Digg continues to grow, claiming 20 million visitors per month and around 400,000 users daily.
- cheezy321, on 08/18/2008, -10/+33And the obamabots with 40 accounts
- Rhydeble, on 08/18/2008, -5/+26XKDC
So I can haz free dig? - poploserdigg, on 08/18/2008, -3/+24"But despite these new hurdles, the elite group still enjoys an enormous amount of power when it comes to promoting its own links. And it wasn’t luck that awarded this power; almost all of Digg’s top users engage in regular behind-the-scenes networking in a you-scratch-my-back strategy, a series of instant messages, shouts and emails that come together and thrust hordes of stories past other competitors. "
If you are one of these people, and you still have not killed yourself, please do not waste any more oxygen and get it over with. - angryfirelord, on 08/18/2008, -10/+31Apparently on Digg, if you're center, you're considered far-right. If you don't like Obama, you're a neo-conservative. If you like Ron Paul, you're a Paultard. If you're libertarian, you're considered a loon. So me, being a Ron Paul supporter, Obama hater, AND a libertarian leaning Republican means that, well, I don't really fit in. :-)
- OfNumbers, on 08/18/2008, -0/+21How much are you charging?
- takamichinaku, on 08/18/2008, -1/+22Unfortunately a top digg user told me that I should submit only in a particular category because others are occupied.
This article is so true. - Scottc320, on 08/18/2008, -11/+31I'm pretty far-right (the only one here?)
- BXRWXR, on 08/18/2008, -2/+22And something else I don't agree like with 80 accounts.
- inactive, on 08/18/2008, -1/+20Was the dupe submitted by Mrbabyman or MakiMaki like most of them are?
- AlextheK, on 08/18/2008, -8/+27Feh. Anyone who thinks Digg isn't controlled by gaming of this sort can test it instantly by posting an anti-Obama piece.
- arkaycee, on 08/18/2008, -0/+19And the exaggerators with like 2 million accounts.
- mach32, on 08/18/2008, -8/+26digg has been hijacked and become next to worthless. the only reason to come here is to watch the dolts parade around like they are relevant.
- MrSkills, on 08/18/2008, -2/+20I've wondered about this too - I've been first to Digg a few things, but someone 'more powerful' has always re-submitted it and their one has been huge. Then when I've questioned it on the later version, I've been massively dugg down...
- rebrad, on 08/18/2008, -0/+18I don't think the algorithm applies to the paid professional digg submitters. They seem to have found a hole in the algorithm that allow them to promote client sites to the front page.
I liked the quote from Tomboy501 "Here’s some reality: digg is gamed beyond belief. Period,” she wrote. “Here’s the secret: Want to your stories to be popular and go to the front page? Blind digg. Blind digg everything the power users submit. You’ll get there soon. It’s a gross and disturbing display; digg is a mere shadow of it’s former glory.” So true and so unfortunate. - inactive, on 08/18/2008, -11/+29I don't buy the "increasing popular" statement..You can't close an account here so unless you're banned the amount of members can't really decrease..And then of course there are the Paultards who each have 20 accounts...
- carabou, on 08/18/2008, -13/+30the anti-mccain stuff is pushing me away from digg. I used to love this site, now every other story is "mccain killed babys" or Mccain loves Bush" or you got to love Mccain want to take away womens rites" lol this has got to slow down! there is so much hate for this guy and he realy did nothing wrong yet. It would be nice to see something from the other side, but that dosent look like it will happen any time soon.
- tman84, on 08/18/2008, -4/+21Obama bots easily have like over 9000 accounts

- Rhydeble, on 08/18/2008, -3/+18Bury the unbeleiver
- tjhawkin, on 08/18/2008, -9/+22I think it's ridiculous that such a small number of people "control" the content on Digg. And I'm really tired of seeing anti-McCain articles on nearly every other headline (I don't ever see any trash on Obama on digg........no, that would be unbiased.....Digg-forbid!). I wish Digg would do something!
- gavin422, on 08/18/2008, -5/+18I thought it was RON PAUL '08!
- Four20, on 08/18/2008, -3/+15yea, they beat me by 1 minute. . .bastard!
- stealthc, on 08/18/2008, -5/+17What's the difference?
- Lyk4n, on 08/18/2008, -1/+12I personally have over 20,000 accounts I log into daily. I am my own bury brigade..
- connieLingus, on 08/18/2008, -2/+12politics are involved where a group of people are gathered? sham-wow!
- j2daedubblef, on 08/18/2008, -2/+12digg has gone the way of wikipedia where it is just ruled by the few "elite" users while the masses just have to accept they have no power and what the elite says is truth. what's ironic about all of this is its exactly the same way the "corrupt government" is and has been for decades now, yet the people on digg and wikipedia are against big government and typically right wing ideas, yet they are doing the same thing with their "power" on these web 2.0 websites. basically this just proves the well known fact that people are corrupt and power hungry at heart regardless of political ideals/beliefs/etc. every single human on earth just about would kill hundreds if not thousands of people if they knew it would give them all the power they wanted, although not many people will admit this, cause most people are liars...but that's getting on a tangent. have a great day! :)
- Scottc320, on 08/18/2008, -4/+14woah cool you can limit topics...,yay no more obama stories
- inactive, on 08/18/2008, -1/+10it would be nice to have a feature where we could block stories from the top 25 or however many submitters.
also, it would be handy to have a check box on the submission "is this a top X list?". that way, one could block all of those at once too. -
