- thatcrazycommie, on 04/17/2008, -1/+81Man, they really *are* becoming the underground google.
- LANjackal, on 04/17/2008, -1/+62This should be pretty useful for bloggers who post links to music releases :)
- davotoula, on 04/17/2008, -8/+66This is a great initiative but besides copyrighted material, what else is legal but in risk of being shut down by a standard blog host?
- kopimi, on 04/17/2008, -5/+62Lots of people have had their blogs shut down for uncomfortable minds. But you never hear of them - because they're closed down. Isn't that ***** dangerous?
- jonathantneal, on 04/17/2008, -0/+31You've done well, but with great power comes great responsibility. I'm sure you have a chance now to bring some hot attention to Baywords. Do you plan to do something useful with this? You have the opportunity now, so don't waste it, mmk?
- Firehed, on 04/17/2008, -2/+33They don't care if they break US law. Which is quite understandable, as they're not located in the US. They're remarkably careful not to break their local laws.
- Proteus1935, on 04/17/2008, -1/+30Quick
"***** THE RIAA".baywords.com is still available!! Someone WITH talent... please grab it! - rpieszak, on 04/17/2008, -1/+30Imagine the internet 10 years from now, and what it might be if Google and PirateBay weren't around. They both do so much for the masses, it scares me to think how stunted our growth would be without them.
- MikeonTV, on 04/17/2008, -2/+30good point. Unless you're in Egypt
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -0/+25i don't think that was necessary. torrentfreak always survives the digg effect.
- wellyuk, on 04/17/2008, -1/+26How have they broken the law to date?
- inactive, on 04/17/2008, -0/+22The Pirate Bay: DEFENDERS OF THE UNIVERSE!!!!!
- fkr3, on 04/17/2008, -7/+25Nothing. Google, LiveJournal, Wordpress etc only remove illegal stuff and spam. BayWords is pretty much guaranteed to do that as well - they do with their also "uncensored" image hosting site.
It's just another move by TPB to create completely-legal sites they can fall back on, but with such a half-arsed setup I don't think they're about to be a competitor for WordPress, LiveJournal or Blogger. - SniperGX1, on 04/17/2008, -0/+16What they care most about is the law.
- ilikechaitea, on 04/17/2008, -1/+17hmm...good question. I guess an example is entries or bloggers who encorage activites that break copyright law. i.e:
I KNOW anyone can find info on how to create a hackingtosh on the net. But usually, tutorials like these in layman's terms are always very conservative, scared that they might be breaking a law...like this:
http://www.cnettv.com/9742-1_53-28784.html
also, I've been looking for simple steps to downgrade my new PC version of San Andreas from V2 to V1...but all the forums are kinda tight lipped. yeah. they hint, and you can find the info, BUT...
it'll be nice to have a space where people can chat openly about 'illegal' tech activities.....
- inactive, on 04/17/2008, -1/+17The thing is that they aren't breaking the law.
- KnifeOrSpoon, on 04/17/2008, -1/+15zing - I got it =D
"Congratulations! The blog *****.baywords.com/ is yours." - Sairgem, on 04/17/2008, -0/+14I would hope so, it's called free speech. Even if I don't agree with the ***** some people spew, everyone should be able to voice their opinions.
- hollyminkowski, on 04/17/2008, -0/+14I hope they would as it would probably be against Swedish law.
- inactive, on 04/17/2008, -0/+13Some other free spirit(s) will take up the slack.
- agentmedia, on 04/17/2008, -1/+14There are plenty of legal sites/blogs that get taken down due to threats by lawyers. I have personally had sites shut down because i was speaking out against a large corporation. They sent threating letters to the hosts and they removed them, one customer is not worth the risk of losing a lot of money in a legal battle to them.
- wellyuk, on 04/17/2008, -0/+13Sure it is. Are they serving pirated software and music? No, they're not.
- renegadeafk, on 04/17/2008, -1/+14They need money, I imagine they have massive bandwidth costs.
- DarkAlchemist, on 04/17/2008, -0/+12And you're trying to be funny.
- inactive, on 04/17/2008, -4/+14It could also mean forbidden images like that of the image of Allah.
- jer2eydevil88, on 04/17/2008, -2/+11I would digg this up 50 times at least if I could.
- Proteus1935, on 04/17/2008, -1/+10Great! Now go and spread the word my friend :)
- dsmx, on 04/17/2008, -0/+8Actually the pirate bay obeys the p2p laws in sweden.
- Hayaemsay, on 04/17/2008, -1/+8Don't waste it.
- exomni, on 04/17/2008, -2/+9Well, you go one word right.
- zapperdude60, on 04/17/2008, -2/+9the only scary thing is how stupid you are
- wallryan, on 04/17/2008, -1/+8just like bayimg.com? apparently that is still around....
- Ogopogo, on 04/17/2008, -0/+6There's actually a long list of prohibited ideas, opinions and concepts that are forbidden to Canadians. Section 13.1 of the so-called Canadian Human Rights Act is used to shutdown hundreds of websites and put people through 'struggle-session' tribunals (100% conviction rate) and impose 5-figure fines and lifetime bans against expressing anything similar.

I applaud Pirate Bay for launching their uncensored blogging service. I hope they can keep it going. - ers35, on 04/17/2008, -0/+6BayWords uses Wordpress MU:
http://mu.wordpress.org/ - gameradam, on 04/17/2008, -0/+6The Pirate Bay seem like they are offering more services everyday. What's next? The Pirate Bay ISP?
- appleswitch, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5Their blog IS Wordpress. Wordpress MU, multiple user distribution.
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -0/+5don't click on it. it's a known spam site. block and report him.
- Wilsomatic, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5So will ThePirateBayMaps.com have pictures of sea monsters and stuff?
- exomni, on 04/17/2008, -1/+6Oh sweet irony, you are a cruel mistress. Dugg up.
- iandigg, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5They're not involved in piracy - they simply index torrents in much the same way as google indexes web pages or your phone company indexes people in their phone book. No content is stored. Some of the torrents may be of illegal files in the same way as your phone book may contain the number of a criminal.
- noseeme, on 04/17/2008, -1/+5He hosts his own blog. The only thing that could stop Maddox is Maddox. Or a subpoena.
- zapperdude60, on 04/17/2008, -1/+5adblock, my friend
- inactive, on 04/17/2008, -4/+8anyone else sick of the t-shirt thumbnail in every torrentfreak post?
- inactive, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4*censored : But that's fine with me, they could censor out shemales, donkey porn, puking, pissing and ***** porn while they're at it.
