- Dadgumit, on 11/07/2007, -80/+1727I'm Digging this because that site is pretty sweet. Never heard of it before Thanks for that!

www.askaninja.com - inactive, on 10/26/2007, -53/+451So... yeah this is my site. I am the "idiot" who "spammed" the digg comments and got flamed for it. Basically, this is the story of the day that this happened. I wish I could have posted the site myself but Disparity got to it first. Read it for a continuation of the story. Oh and a shotout to the 1200 (and counting) or so people that buried my comment. Thanks!
- pipdip, on 10/26/2007, -47/+344Let's try and beat the record.. everyone digg this down
But check out my site... http://www.wrtrouters.com - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+181-1473
http://digg.com/hardware/James_Kim_s_Body_Found#c4143973 - Derrelicte, on 11/07/2007, -3/+160Ironically enough, this story is digging the site that was originally being spammed.
- xM55, on 10/02/2009, -69/+216Man, digg users are definitely way too harsh on these comments. Not to mention, I know from experience that most users don't even read comments, but simply copy what others have done; if the comment is dug down -1000, you're going to press that red thumbs down picture, don't deny it.
Now digg me down, because you can't face the truth... - Diseage, on 10/12/2007, -4/+115I'm not going to digg this because I think that a digg story, linking to a blog, about a comment, on a digg story, about a mirror, of digg, that got mirrored..
okay, let's just say I'm pretty sure there's a hole in the space-time continuum ripping open right now. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -18/+123babemgnt101: I'll proudly state that I didn't bury you.
I don't mind people adding signatures to their Digg comments. Why?
1. the internet runs on advertising. someone's sig may be the next hit site. it's just a line of text, not a floating ad. Accept it, advertising runs Digg. For all you know, www.digg.com might have been Kevin Rose's Slashdot signature.
2. I like seeing what other people have to share
3. Nobody reads Digg profiles. Really.
4. Slashdot and others have people putting sigs on their messages and it doesn't screw anything up.
5. It's not Spam - it's a legitimate blog. Spam would be www.penisenlargement.com or some crap like that.
That said, please continue to use signatures because it goes along with the freedom to express. For all of you who don't want to see these websites, DONT CLICK ON THE LINKS! And for all you wimps that complain so much that it's taking space, the name of the game is GreaseMonkey. - lukas88, on 10/12/2007, -8/+111Chandler Kent, sorry about that, diggers can be *****. Lack of anything better to do and years of having to tolerate internet spam have embittered us. You seem like a good sport, better than most of the blokes on here, so take some consolation in that.
- OBKenobi, on 10/26/2007, -9/+104Is this really the most Dugg-down comment?
I would like to see the Top 10 most hated comments. - chriszma666, on 11/07/2007, -31/+122The funny thing is your site still sucks and you still must be color blind.
- fishnchips, on 10/12/2007, -9/+95http://insidesocialnews.blogspot.com/2006/11/most-buried-comments-in-digg-history.html
- 7of7, on 10/26/2007, -4/+87The fact that anyone in the world takes Digg seriously is seriously disturbing.
- TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -4/+51You know. The guy is being really cool and good humored about it. I honestly don't think he was spamming on purpose. So I say give him a break.
Oh and to babemagnet, props on becoming the most talked about Digg user on Digg in less than 6 hours. - serra, on 10/12/2007, -6/+49Thanks for pointing out the comment on the James Kim story, I didn't get to digg that one down while I was there, so I got to do it now. :P
- oskite, on 10/12/2007, -5/+46The multiple levels of irony are messing with my brain.
- Cymrubeats, on 10/12/2007, -5/+44...and now his site hits front page. Digg, you are the most retarded crowd EVER.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+42Yeah, that would not be cool to give out people's phone numbers. I'm not going to do that.
- skylights, on 10/12/2007, -4/+38Wow, the James Kim comment definitely has this one beat. For now, anyway.
- sterntastic223, on 10/12/2007, -4/+37you mean diccks? get it, it's like digg, but for dick...***** don't bury me...
- Markpdotcom, on 10/12/2007, -2/+34@realjimshady
I have to agree with you. This whole mentality of diggs comment system is nuts!
To all the new people to Digg the rules of the playground are: "You must love macs, the Wii r00x, the ps3 sUUx and Kevin Rose ownzz j00!" Also "In Soviet Russia, the reverse is true", "I welcome our XXXX overlords" and "will it blend" etc...
I think it shows the average age of a "Digger", they're probably in their early teens. Maybe we need a Digg for adults? :)
Let the digging down commence! ;) - Ouze, on 10/12/2007, -3/+35I can totally see where this guy is coming from, prompting me to now make my first, and probably last, post on Digg. I just started reading Digg pretty recently, and it seemed like it was better then Fark's comments area, since for me anyway, I always felt like the article is only half the story, and the comments can often be way more interesting, a balanced pie chart of infotainment.
It's kinda sad that after only maybe 2 months, tops, on Digg I almost never read the comments anymore since they are seemingly always dominated by (insert an OS here) fanbois, internet tough guys, and just flat out raving *****. Just a few entries below was an article about outrageous bank fees, and while I agree that bank fees are out of control, anybody that actually posted a comment indicating in any way that the person generating the overdraft might need to exert a little financial control was mercilessly and swiftly dugg down. "The wisdom of crowds" is pretty good at generating funny/weird/interesting stories for the first part of the infotainment pie, but the comments section generally reveals what common sense already tells you: crowds don't have any ***** wisdom, but make good mindless herds/lynch mobs. - jtstogner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32I believe he had a right to take it seriously when his phone number was posted.
- 47knight, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31Sometimes the members here at digg can be total dicks...
- masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+32The hatred towards that comment seems a bit lame considering the fact that we've actually had REAL spam on digg before (i.e., commercial spam).
- eonblue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25Define Iorny: Burrying somone because they put blog spam in their post and their blog being on digg within the week.
- subxero37, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22I've gotten dugg down quite a bit for perfectly valid comments. I don't worry so much about it, it's digg -- it's not like digg will decide my future based on the score I get on a comment. What's weird, though, is when I post crappy comments that require no thought and aren't even very sensible, I get dugg up. Or when I post something, trying to be funny, and eeeeverybody takes it seriously and diggs me down.
But oh well, I don't care. It's not my future, or my life, it's a digg post. - fjc8, on 10/12/2007, -3/+24Perhaps you should have put their phone numbers on your blog.
- skylights, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Here's where it happened, in case somehow you missed it (and you shouldn't have, it's the #1 story):
http://digg.com/tech_news/DuggMirror_We_all_use_it_every_day_Time_to_show_it_some_love_by_digging - bitcloud, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20i wouldn't stress babemagnet... Digg used to be a tech site, but these days a lot of articles attract the 14 year old kids...
They are a fickle wave of judgement... whichever direction the wave starts in, everyone else joins in... if you're in the road when the wave sweeps passed, prepare to be lynched.
Its funny because it's online, but make no mistake, a different era, these guys *would* have you strung up to a burning tree...
be afraid... be very afraid... - zephc, on 10/12/2007, -26/+45in light of the james kim comment, buried as inaccurate. Also, blogspam.
- jackhole, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22I look forward to the day when all comments on digg are tagged with blog and email addresses, currently playing song, poster's mood, location, real name, and favorite color. I can't bear having to click the link to the profile to find out that frivolous *****. I call upon all diggers, please increase the noise-to-signal ratio of the comment section by ending all your posts with a closing and a signature.
Best regards,
jackhole - trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Mentally? 5
Physically? Who knows. - Jolene, on 10/12/2007, -8/+25I didn't digg you down, but I would have. I'm not (that much of) a jackass, but if you want people to check out you're website on digg, put it in you're profile. That's why the option is there.
The colors of you're website do hurt my eyes, defiantly need to fix that, but I know how it is. I suck with color schemes as well.
Good to hear that not everyone on digg is a douche. Kinda expected the people that called to not really come up with anything though... - bitcloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14I like the colour scheme... It's not the best website design, but if anyone think's we're not going to look back on the "web 2.0" generation and say "holy ***** pastel - what were we thinking?" you're kidding yourself...
- myshoeshurt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Hahaha, this is HILARIOUS. The "digg community" are SUCH a bunch of worthless losers that their stupidity itself has made this a top story. So ***** awesome. I am 100% entirely on this guy's side because it just shows SO effectively how moronic you all are. Bury me! I can't wait to feel the "shame" of being "buried" by a bunch of ***** neandrethals. LOL. Hurry up and do it you *****.
- fishnchips, on 10/12/2007, -8/+22@babemgnt101
Your site is fine - I like it! It sucks you were getting prank calls/IMs. What I call my 'Internet life' (forums, digg) rarely overlaps with my 'real life'. Anyway, I hope it's eased off now and this story gets to the front page instead! - spadin, on 10/12/2007, -7/+20If he's not color blind, I think I am after I looked at that site.
- zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Way to go Digg idiots. You bury the guy and now you give him all the promotion he could ever dream of. If there is one shining example of how unbelievably stupid the Digg herd is, it's this.
- sanguinemoon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15He didn't spam. It's not a commerical blog with ads. It wasn't the most ingenius comment in the world, but didn't deserve to be dugg down more than real advertising messages do.
- trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14@babemgnt101 Just to explain a little why people consider posting a link to your own site "spam" on digg and just a harmless signature on other sites. Digg is a large enough site that when it " links to another site " even in a user generated comment, and even if that comment is dugg down and the link never clicked by anyone, that site then gets a higher page rank in google as google takes links from other popular sites into account when generating it's page ranks. Because of this, some users started posting replies without any meaningful comment containing a link to their site solely to get a higher page rank. So I generally digg down comments with a signature like http://google.com but not ones that just say google.com because, since digg does not parse it and make it a link, it doesn't artificially increase their page rank.
I don't condone any of the harassment done by any diggers, I just wanted to explain why Digg is the only site that considers links to ones site spam. - serra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Did you even read the other comments above this? Aaaah, a true digger! :P
- lonnieh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Asshatery is almost everywhere on the internet and pretty much anywhere you can be anonymous. I guess the douche bag comes out online because they can't stand up for themselves in real life.
- aahpandasrun, on 10/12/2007, -12/+23He got dugg down because it was a lame overenthusiastic comment with a website plug. Simple as that.
- Bara, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Now watch as everyone goes to that link and continues to digg him down, if they haven't already.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12While that is certainly lame, you're even lamer for using MSIE.
- AkshayGenius, on 10/12/2007, -8/+18Lets make another record, digg me down, everyone digg me down now!!
- busfahrer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9If it makes you feel any better:
http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2004/03/19
Could be part of the explanation :-) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Yeah, it doesn't work in IE. Not at all. Just a suggestion though. IE is not my friend. Or any web developers friend for that matter.
- ravzz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9the internet is full of stupid people!!

What is Digg?
