- boardthis, on 06/27/2008, -2/+123where is the giant linksys router located?
- dadotron, on 06/26/2008, -3/+105You should see the ships that fix those cables. They are amazing.
- inactive, on 06/27/2008, -6/+75That's a lot of tubes.
Yarr.............. - mark076h, on 06/26/2008, -6/+70i would love a poster of this for my wall
- Sairynn, on 06/27/2008, -1/+63Out Californee-way, of course.
- STPZ, on 06/27/2008, -9/+66Wow Mr. Gore I'm impressed.
- pidey, on 06/27/2008, -1/+56Well you should see the ships that cast down anchors and break those cables. They apparently visit Egypt every fifteen minutes.
- seabass341, on 06/26/2008, -4/+55u really need a higher resolution to read the fine print in that picture
- djepik, on 06/27/2008, -11/+62I was expecting this:
http://i26.tinypic.com/2q8ndds.jpg - professorfurley, on 06/27/2008, -1/+46does antarctica get the internet?
- brheath, on 06/27/2008, -1/+41So let me get this straight, all I need to do is clip one cable and I will never receive another e-mail from a Nigerian prince ever again?!
- tarley, on 06/27/2008, -0/+31You and me... eventually
- mephitix, on 06/27/2008, -1/+30Every 146 days, a story must rise again... such is the prophecy of Digg.
- IpHa, on 06/27/2008, -1/+28I hate jpeg artifacts. They make the fine print completely unreadable.
- Fatcheeseguy, on 06/26/2008, -4/+29*snip*
/wires - ortucis, on 06/27/2008, -2/+24The font size was massive. They should reduce the image res and quality further to make it a bit more clearer.
You see, when you reduce the quality, the pixels/artifacts in the picture align right next to another ***** pixel to help you understand wtf is going.
It's science, just like scientology. - Angostura, on 06/27/2008, -0/+22To me, this looks like a poster that the guys from Telegeography produce.

Ouch, it's going to cost you around $250. - Takuro, on 06/27/2008, -5/+26I honestly didn't know that the vast majority of the internet was networked by undersea cables. I envisioned a very complex system of satellites, although I guess this is much more practical and straightforward. Heh... you learn something new every day.

- aussieNickuss, on 06/27/2008, -0/+18NZ shares Australia's major pipe.....which in fact means we get their sloppy seconds.
- dvsbastard, on 06/27/2008, -1/+17Would you say it is a series of tubes?!
- NathanCH, on 06/27/2008, -2/+18Canada has no internets
- captainaviator, on 06/27/2008, -0/+16don't you mean, there are no undersea cables going to it?
- neolyn, on 06/27/2008, -7/+22Who gives a *****?! Not everyone has seen it yet!
- MattFid, on 06/26/2008, -0/+15...or for my ceiling.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Submarine_communicati ... - MrMax99, on 06/27/2008, -1/+15Who pays for those cables?

- gibler, on 06/27/2008, -0/+14yes via satellite , but there are undersea cables going to it. NZ barely gets a cable.
- gibler, on 06/27/2008, -0/+14yes I meant there aren't any. Opps.
- aussieNickuss, on 06/27/2008, -1/+14No wonder bandwidth is expensive in Australia.....we only have a few pipes in and out of the country!
- gctoinfinity, on 06/27/2008, -3/+16longest cable is called SeeMeWe.... hahahaha
and to think people make fun of nintendo. - nick2, on 06/27/2008, -1/+13Never knew there were two East Asia's or Australia's. Learn something new everyday!

- Angostura, on 06/27/2008, -0/+11SEA-ME-WE= South-East Asia - Middle East - Western Europe
- Tyrghast, on 06/27/2008, -1/+12The damaged middle-eastern cable makes you wonder... anyone remember the stories on digg 8 months back about 4 undersea cables being cut one after another, and just being passed off as an accident?
- phpftw, on 06/27/2008, -2/+13I have seen it so it's not new to me.
- Geoscientist, on 06/27/2008, -1/+12With all that available bandwidth, its a shame that image has been compressed so the smallest writing is illegible (even with Firefoxes magical zoom capabilities).
- specialK16, on 06/27/2008, -1/+12Except that those emails never really come from Nigeria.
- rentmitchum, on 06/27/2008, -0/+10lol.. you have 4 internets.
