- secretwhistle, on 10/10/2007, -1/+72It's at this point where the words "Ron Paul" are randomly inserted into the headline, body and comments.
- wallyhartshorn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+37Some people pay WAY too much attention to Digg rankings.
- PatrickA, on 10/10/2007, -0/+28Maybe the pages are cached? We know Digg uses memcached.
- rdrysdale, on 10/10/2007, -3/+22Digg limbo... I bet John Malkovich is somewhere in there too.
- Topslakr, on 10/10/2007, -4/+19Holy Crap Man, it's a website! Stay calm everyone! Breathe! Let's all remember not to take this website to seriously... Am I the only one who thinks that perhaps you are spending to much time on this stuff?
- dunkyp, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13Ron Paul (I'm terribly sorry)
- umrgregg, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13You're
It's okay, though. the guy who wrote the article didn't know how to conjugate either. - MikeyisaFag, on 10/10/2007, -4/+13Did this page go through digg limbo? Paradoxical, isn't it?
- ukdave, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Iv'e seen it, I think they have done it on purpose as part of the new algo
- RichLatherX23, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9"a in between virgo sort of realm"
The who now? I prefer the scorpio sort of realm. - fLUx1337, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Yeh, its due to caching - the homepage gets 90% of diggs traffic, so they cache that longer than the rest of the pages. Upcoming gets updated, then a few minutes later, the frontpage gets updated, no biggy!
(and for anyone wondering, the caching isn't the whole page, the only bits which get cached are the story details & top 10 list, then it just leaves the digg counts & # of comments. Thats why when you refresh, the digg counts update, but not everytime, they are cached too, just not for long....but if digg has 10,000 users on the homepage, which is better - 1 sql query a second, or 10,000? lol)
God knows why this story has got onto the homepage though.... - fhernand, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6In any case, I'm glad your submission made it through the limbo in one piece. If it is possible, please do ask of it to recount of its travel of such frightful place (pics would help a lot)
- tblasko, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8It's an alternate diggmension... or an alternate plane of ediggstence
sorry I couldn't resist - Matteos, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6It's full of stars.
- mootopolis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4haha ordinarily, you would be correct. But you're absolutely kidding yourself if you think there's not a lot of money made due to digg.
A LOT of clicks=a LOT of money.
Especially since there's about a million places that scrape the digg rss feed, and also things that show up on digg have a habit of coming up on sites like slashdot too. - MikeonTV, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6are you happy now?
your not in the upcoming pages at all - subtle, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5So it's just for Virgos, not Leos or Libras?
- andr3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2My first thought as well...
- krelian, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Those who actually vote in the upcoming pages are a small group of digg fanboys. That's why all stories are basically the same thing.
- TeMerc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2My bad, sorry guys that lag is from me 'power burying' the likes of relentless scumbag digg spammers like poomesh.
- joe573, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Did proofreading die with the invention of spell check? Discuss.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Red herring. You fail.
Remember, the issue now is about censorship on digg, not my personal beliefs. If this sort of thing is OK with you, I suggest you go join the extremists - they don't like individual liberties much, either. - NiX0n, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Digg uses page caching (else, Digg itself would incur the dreaded "Digg-effect"). It's likely the "disconnect" is a result of out-of-sync caches.
- Matteos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Ron Pod... iPual... i am so confused...
- isuisorisuaint, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1digg. serious business.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2There's a lot more going on at Digg then they would have you believe.... Twice - twice now I have submitted / commented on something about holding US soldiers accountable for their actions (i.e. Abu Garhib and war crimes) and the've been deleted. Not buried. Deleted.
Remember, it's still censorship if a corporation or the government does it.. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2It's a Y2K thing.
- endlessoul, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah. What he said.
Pics or it didn't happen. - MellerTime, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Because it's a conspiracy! They're trying to steal our stories and only by bitching and moaning will they ever make it to the homepage where they rightfully belong!
- prolog, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2That's stretching it a bit.
- tHePeOPle, on 10/10/2007, -5/+5Does the comment system suck ass there too? I mean, suck ass and load so slow as to bring my browser to a ***** crawl every time the comment count goes over about 100? Behave so horribly as to make me use digg less and less because I can't ***** stand the staggering amount of script that runs every time you open a comments page?
Im sorry guys. I sorta got carried away there. It's just that... the comments... sorry. - FredFredrickson, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2I'm sorry, but if you've got nothing better to do than sit around all day watching Digg articles go from page 2 to page 1, I'm going to have to label you a loser.
- MellerTime, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Or the things that show up on Slashdot have a habit of coming up on sites like Digg too... I can never keep those two straight...
- thinman1189, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2It's happening to me on the main page as well, although that may be due to the crappy school net.
- mkjones, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1What a load of crap. You should research just how the digg voting algorithm works before postulating such rubbish.
Shame on you all for digging. - willis77, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1buried for incompetence
you're: a contraction of 'you' and 'are'
your: a possessive pronoun - protogenxl, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1A hot chick will always get you frontage and if that does not work posting the link in a popular thread will get attention.
http://digg.com/other_sports/I_can_t_concentrate_on_Bowling_nsfw_pic_kinda - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1um, try hitting F5 after you hit BACK to go back to the first page. This is a ***** joke.
- hiPpymIck, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1ive given up trying to be a successful submitter
so i just freely post (what i hope are good) links in the comments..like this one..
(the drill bits podcast is a lot about Digging by 3 top Diggers..hearing them makes it all a bit more human)
http://www.thedrilldown.com/ - iancorey, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0iPod du jour.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0Something tells me there's nothing in those articles about holding extremists accountable for their *****, so GOOD.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -8/+2or where they are mysteriously edited out

What is Digg?
