- Phoenixheart, on 10/08/2008, -3/+94Yahoo has a calendar...?
- rdhazrd, on 10/08/2008, -0/+24This is a total ripoff of the calendar I got from my bank. Yahoo didn't even bother to change the name of the "days", they even use the same "month" names. FAIL!
- GorfTron, on 10/08/2008, -4/+27I'm surprised Yahoo is even in business. Yahoo is so so 1999.
- nem0, on 10/08/2008, -3/+16Awesome. I hope it comes with banner ads and popups all over the place.
- psud0, on 10/08/2008, -3/+15Woow ... I've just checking in. It looks even better then Google Calendar ...
- flamyngo, on 10/08/2008, -3/+12That looks JUST like the Google Calendar. WOW.
- StevenBullen, on 10/08/2008, -1/+9Shame it's a little late!
Let's hope it makes google improve 'google calendar'. - inactive, on 10/08/2008, -0/+7Awesome correct use of "it's" and "its."
- rnawky, on 10/08/2008, -0/+7So I decided to see what this new calendar looked like, and well.... why do people still use Yahoo?
--"Get personalized spam filtering with SpamGuard Plus, 20MB message size, no graphical ads, POP access and forwarding, and more great features for just $19.99/year - that's less than $2/month."
Wow so, I have to pay for POP access, no ads, a 20Mb attachment limit, and more "great features?"
Aren't these things that Google provides for the low low price of... Nothing?
Does Yahoo even support IMAP?
http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/8654/wowtl3.jpg - DarthTater, on 10/08/2008, -0/+6I tried to find the link from yahoo and I couldn't find it. I had to use google! oh the irony!
- mohamedmansour, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4"The new Yahoo! Calendar Beta doesn't work in your language yet. The team is working around the clock to translate everything in your language.
By the way, did you know there are over 6,000 languages in the world? "
Since when Canadian English isn't one of the 6000 languages for Yahoo! I have plain old english no french, no other language, english OS, english browser. But still it says I am not english :( - rnawky, on 10/08/2008, -1/+5Yeah just in case people didn't want to click my user name and look in my profile for them.
Go ahead, make a comment about me not masking out my name either. - diggapleeeze, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3I know, eh?
- StigNordas, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3Oh man, finally! I had great hope for Yahoo Calendar after they acquired WebCal in 98, better late than never!
- AmyVernon, on 10/08/2008, -1/+3It's about time. Their calendar was horridly old.
- 2of8, on 10/08/2008, -2/+4Damnit, they don't have it in Canadian yet.
(???) - Richie311, on 10/08/2008, -1/+3More like Yahwho?, IMO.
- ayeroxor, on 10/08/2008, -1/+3"it’s been more than two years since Google launched its Web-based calendar. But tonight it will start rolling out a new drag-and-drop, Ajax calendar in a closed beta to Yahoo Mail users in the U.S."
Why is Google rolling out a calendar in a closed beta to Yahoo Mail users?
/yay clarity - smotpoker1, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2Till they bring back the ability to chat to others about the news it is nothing but a wannabe news page I could care less If I read the news I want to talk about it with fellow humans albeit even with trolls and flamers.Their taking away the news forums were what made me go find Digg and Topix not as good coverage of the news but it will let us talk about some of it.***** you Yahoo I use to go to you daily now it might be by accident on or twice a year.AFAIAC you guys are stupid as hell to shoot yourself like that to me you made yourself irrelevant and continue to do so.Till you bring back the news forum and fire the stupid jerk that took it away you will never be number 1 again.
- RobotBuddha, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2I only just heard a few minutes ago that there's a "ymail" like "gmail" domain for mail. That said, I'll give them credit for the reason I found it out. I finally gave up and just started my gmail fowarding copies to yahoo's mail so I can get proper push on my iphone. Compitition seems to be doing the trick again, and making sure that improvements are forced from at least one vender.
- stutimandal, on 10/08/2008, -1/+3Most Calendars look the same. We have a web based CISCO system calendar for our deptt. since 2002 and it looks identical.
Even if you look at the paper calendars, they have this sort of organization. - foxontherock, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2absolutely. Before using gmail/google calendar, I was using yahoo as my main online product. Their mail tool is better, their calendar is better, the contact list too. And, most of all, they are able to put calendar / mail / contact and TOTO list (absent from google) in the same easy to use interface. They have more functionnalities accessibles from the right click, but even if it may be considered as a better designed and practical products, they will never be the first. The winner is not always the better. I leaved yahoo for google, for other reasons, but I continue to think that yahoo was better on the usability and quality.
- petemcfraser, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1Won't be much longer before Yahoo calendar is eaten by Google calendar anyway.
- MemoryDump, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1yahoo fails me once again.. *sigh*
- MouseworksPC, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1I've used 30boxes.com for years and still like that one better than Google calendar. But I agree that this Yahoo calendar looks fine.
- ToastPop, on 04/17/2009, -0/+1If you think this calendar looks good, you should check out Yahoo mail. Seriously, Yahoo knows how to make impressive web-apps.
- Dove, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1www.iscrybe.com ... 'nuff said.
- LowFuel, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1I checked. There don't appear to be any "yahoo who" comments.
- DarthTater, on 10/08/2008, -1/+2and better ads! wow! I always wanted banners and stuff like that ;)
- Appleologist, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1Yahoo seems to be really taking advantage of their Zimbra acquisition.
- harrisbradley, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1Yahoo, just preparin' for the purchase
- naffets, on 10/08/2008, -1/+2I've just checking in ay? I wonder if yahoo calendar has a grammar checker.
- rnawky, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1You mean adence? Yeah, ABP blocks all that *****, I was just making a statement.
- enterneo, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1they put me on the waiting list...
- Octanus, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1I don't know why you're being buried.. it is true, if you try and switch you get this error:
"The new Yahoo! Calendar Beta doesn't work in your language yet." - chroko, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1Yahoo Mail does not support IMAP - which is *the* #1 problem with it.
And Google doesn't provide a paid version with no advertising (click on a message) - so GMail is also useless. - Octanus, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1Open up an email with GMail and you get 5 text adds on the right which can't be hidden, at least Yahoo! lets you hide their large add on the right. That being said ABP works wonders for both sites.
- mongrel, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1Bah, Yahoo will continue to annoy me with their calendar until I can connect it to Plaxo. Next to my work's Exchange server, Yahoo is my most heavily used email. But UNLIKE my Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, Blackberry and iPod Touch, Yahoo is the ONLY one that isn't in touch with the rest of mys chedule, because it doesn't TALK to anything.
- rnawky, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1You realize when you "Hide" the add in Yahoo by clicking the collapse button, it comes RIGHT back when you switch to your next email?
Adsence is much better to deal with than giant skyscraper graphic ads. - demlog, on 10/08/2008, -0/+0I was able to get in this morning using switch.calendar.yahoo.com but now it seems like they are waitlisting new users.
- egthareal, on 10/09/2008, -1/+1Yahoo board meeting...

nice - StigNordas, on 10/08/2008, -2/+2For all those 'yahoo who' comments: Alexa top global sites: http://redirx.com/?0lbp
- 2of8, on 10/09/2008, -0/+0I think "Ctrl-F", replace "color->colour", "favorite->favourite", etc and you're done with translating to "Canadian". Yahoo fails in my books.
- wolferz, on 10/08/2008, -2/+1funny... I didn't have that problem. Perhaps it's just you?
- iDug, on 10/08/2008, -5/+1You just put your yahoo and google mail addresses out there.
- davecachia, on 10/08/2008, -6/+2MS Office Outlook does all - and better then Yahoo's garbage.
