It was rumored for awhile that SCO would sue itself to stay in business. - wackymacs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10WTF - they missed Apple v. Microsoft:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Computer%2C_Inc._v._Microsoft_Corporation - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Especially when they included the relatively lame Apple Computer vs. Apple Records.

Pointed sticks used to be high-tech. Neolithic Digg would have stories about them. Ofcourse, Neolithic Digg would be the community cave "whiteboard", and if you wanted to digg someone down you'd club them to death with a rock. - pyrates, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yes the Apple V Microsoft one is much more important then the Apple V Apple suit. Because if Apple had won, then Apple would be the only company allowed to release an OS with a GUI.
- kaleberg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They left out the wonderful Wright Brothers suit against Curtis which effectively knocked the US out of the aviation business until the 1920s. Curtis invented the modern aviation control surfaces, but the Wrights had a more general patent that covered the idea of control an airplane using control surfaces. Their patent was enforced.
Interestingly, Marconi, who held the patent on radio transmission as used for coded messages, recognized the limits of patent litigation. When sound transmission radio was being pulled together by Armstrong, Sarnoff and a host of others in the early 1920s, Marconi encouraged the formation of a patent pool to develop the technology. The result was the Radio Corporation of America. - jeremycobert, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1what about the entertainment industry VS ReplayTV owners, effectively killing innovation in the DVR market and trying to force end users to watch commercials.
although i assume it helped give rise to mythtv - kaleberg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1No, you can't sue yourself. This is an important point in insurance law. If you are driving with a friend on board and get into an accident. Your friend can sue you for damages. You cannot sue yourself for damages. Until relatively recently, this led to problems for married people because they were regarded as one legal entity, so a wife could not sue her husband or vice versa.
- CDoug03, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Broadcomm vs. Qualcomm?
- tmcdigg, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1mO'rons! Someone missed RIAA v NAPSTER... mp3 specifically made many companies rich beyond belief-- Apple being the most notable. Who the frick cares about MGM v Grockster?
- hasansexy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Haha amazing.
What if this really happened, would it be possible to sue yourself? - loganhid, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1http://duggmirror.com/tech_news/Technology_s_Top_10_Legal_Battles/
- nottanner, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Horribly written article. I was hoping for a synopsis of the cases. What I got, however, was a few paragraphs written by a tenth grade honors student attempting to BS a paper they had forgotten was due and then ten links to the legal battles.
