- dragonlink2, on 04/21/2009, -5/+76Good inside look at what goes on behind the scenes. It's kinda crazy how this started as a small project then exploded. Wow I have been on digg for too long.
- Vindexus, on 04/21/2009, -0/+70"Digg was quite literally left standing at the altar."
I hate when people use the word literally like that. Unless of course there really was an altar involved, then I like that sentence. - ridd1e, on 04/21/2009, -2/+65The camera angle is seriously ***** up in this interview. It makes the impression that Kevin is looking up on Titan of Journalism, Supreme Editor M. III Arrington.
God, I hate TC. - chaos7, on 04/21/2009, -1/+42the interviewer seems like an ahole to me
- thelove, on 04/21/2009, -7/+45Yep, Twitter right now is basically real-time digg submissions without voting. Combine those two and Digg will kill Twitter. It's going to happen, I see it.
Man I can't believe this is Kevin's job, so totally badass. - inactive, on 04/21/2009, -4/+37I know! At first it was only losing a couple hundred thousand dollars a year. Now it has exploded into losing over $5 MILLION a a year!
- sickthoughts, on 04/21/2009, -2/+32Yo Kevin, you finished drinking that coffee 15 minutes ago... quit sippin on an empty cup.
- drenader, on 04/21/2009, -2/+26If by "random user" you mean MrBabyMan? or maybe msaleem? perhaps xdvx?
- liljerk, on 04/21/2009, -0/+17i dunno, that interviewer was kind of a douche.
- diskoh, on 04/21/2009, -1/+18It did seem like the interviewer was standing over him, which would be a very unprofessional way to interview someone.
- inactive, on 04/21/2009, -1/+18The quality of this video is crap. Looks more like an interrogation than an interview.
- dn11, on 04/21/2009, -1/+17Arrington is a douche
- dragonlink2, on 04/21/2009, -2/+18The new changes (around 23:00) sound pretty cool. 6 months? Sick.
- jekins, on 04/21/2009, -1/+15That interviewer's a real turd. Journalism at all costs, huh?
- scoot3r, on 04/21/2009, -0/+10Great to hear how it survived in a competitive market. Looking foward to the new "real time" stuff.
- Fritz, on 04/21/2009, -0/+9yeah, throwing KRose's off-line (over beers, no less) comment about the Microsoft deal's worth was kind of the peak of turdness
- jemka, on 04/21/2009, -1/+10Your comment was suspenseful, sarcastic, and made me laugh.
- halbe, on 04/21/2009, -2/+11Realtime Digg = Digg browser?
- capnkid, on 04/21/2009, -0/+9I've been watching Kevin on Diggnation for quite some time now, but this is the first time I've seen just how intelligent and tuned in to the industry he really is. Seriously: he seems to have some exciting and smart things in the works. And did you see his eyes? Dreamy!
- Hipser, on 04/21/2009, -1/+9was it me or were there also some Tense moments. like jesus christ...
- DWatch, on 04/21/2009, -5/+13Then turn it off.
Heaven forbid you should have to take 5 seconds to open up the options and check a damn box...... sheesh! - TheWilder, on 04/21/2009, -2/+10Digg seems to be keying in on personalized groups/discussion and making things more real-time without the lag between submission time and hitting the front page. Whatever that turns out to be, I know I'll be excited.
Somebody should come up with a mock-up of a new digg logo with lens flare. - cajie, on 04/21/2009, -4/+11Apparently, digg is very popular in India. Time for Kevin Rose to make a trip there.
Digg.com users come from these countries:
43.9% United States
12.9% India
5.2% United Kingdom
3.1% Pakistan
3.1% Canada
http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/digg.com - TapperJones, on 04/21/2009, -2/+9Was it me or did Kevin seem really bored in this interview?
- uncommonone, on 04/21/2009, -1/+7india - its where they keep the engineers
- musicbear, on 04/21/2009, -0/+6Well the call for that bold move has been around for a long time. Since the time they got serious about digg, they should have been scraping all the various news outlets in all their different categories and force those stories onto the front page or into a category or page all their own so that you could use digg as a real news gathering site in real time. Digg is long overdue implementing that. Get rid of friends and shouts and add tags and allow registered users to create a front page that can ban whoever and whatever from showing up there and Digg will take a mighty leap forward.
- kamel, on 04/21/2009, -2/+8Where do you think the digg spammers are located?
- kwol, on 04/21/2009, -2/+7The interviewer seems to be such a tool. It was a pretty good interview for the most part, but why the hell did he have to end it with the Jennifer Aniston comment? Maybe he moonlights as a TMZ reporter as well...
- Fritz, on 04/21/2009, -0/+5and nothing less
- ObeseSnake, on 04/21/2009, -0/+5Is the interviewer hanging off of a lamp fixture or something? Maybe standing on a lion taming platform? Kevin keeps looking up for some reason...
- Everlong241, on 04/21/2009, -1/+6Why does it look like he has a Hitler mustache?
- NathanLoehlein, on 07/27/2009, -0/+5You can turn it off...
- inactive, on 04/21/2009, -1/+6Digg is the late-est of them all.
- SheVibe, on 04/21/2009, -1/+6I wonder if the bold move is to take on google and other real time news feeds that arrogate from AP/REUTERS and of course any other news source because of fair use clauses etc and allow users to digg and comment in a central location without waiting for a submission from a random user.
- houltmac, on 04/21/2009, -0/+5I found Michael a little annoying in parts, but overall a good interview. I think Kevin fended him off well for a while, but then knew to draw the line before he got annoyed himself.
I'm pretty interested to see where Digg is going and I think the diggbar was a great start to an exciting future. Good luck guys! - dukeeeey, on 04/21/2009, -3/+7They should have asked him how much he pays MrBabyMan to submit.
- henryvaughan, on 04/21/2009, -2/+6Is it me or does Kevin have a Hitler tash?
- DavidTurnbull, on 04/21/2009, -1/+5Turn it off in settings.
Some people like it, and some people don't. You don't have to use it. - danielsamuels, on 04/21/2009, -0/+4Should've worn socks.
- Picciuto, on 04/21/2009, -0/+4Terrible interview. I would of been annoyed with TC.
- amitait, on 04/21/2009, -2/+6OMG NEW DIGG!
- inactive, on 04/21/2009, -1/+5You've been on here since 2005 and only dugg 1600 things??
- MuRf07, on 04/21/2009, -0/+4Ah... I have disabled the Digg bar!
- DigDugDigger, on 04/21/2009, -1/+5Serious Kevin was being serious.
- gumballer, on 04/21/2009, -2/+6yes Kevin was about to marry Digg but got cold feet
- outsidethebox, on 04/21/2009, -0/+4Minus the dreamy eyes comment, I agree completely. I'm heading to school for marketing and would love to be involved in a company like this one day.
- gbhall, on 04/21/2009, -0/+4That was actually a really interesting interview..
- NathanLoehlein, on 07/27/2009, -0/+3It would just be t-shirts with girls in them all over the site. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
- inactive, on 04/21/2009, -14/+17it is good to see that i am also a part of this great community where we can share all latest news, videos & Images...I would also like to say thanks to Kevin...
- DeathRay2K, on 04/21/2009, -0/+3You are missing something, the pages are right along the bottom...
