- elizabethmuelle, on 11/10/2007, -5/+260This really sucks. They only linked to stuff though, how is this possible?

- inactive, on 10/22/2007, -5/+134Does this mean I have to get cable now?
- MercedRocks, on 10/22/2007, -2/+122I think everything will have to be hosted in Sweden at some point. This sucks.
- inactive, on 11/04/2007, -3/+112:( This was a major part of my life...
which is completely sad. =/ - Cheeseman1208, on 10/26/2007, -13/+89***** the RIAA.
- GirthAgain, on 11/10/2007, -2/+76Absolutely not. That was the last one. Move along.
- mowgli2001, on 11/05/2007, -4/+59NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Cheeseman1208, on 10/23/2007, -1/+54Wow, that sucks indeed. Oh well, back to downloading Heroes reruns from bittorrent.
- cliffski, on 11/12/2007, -23/+73they link to copyrighted content. sorry dude, but a site that exists purely to help you get stuff thats copyrighted isn't going to last long.
- Drood, on 11/03/2007, -3/+51When are they going to start arresting gun store owners then for providing the ability the break the law?
- essjay, on 10/21/2007, -2/+43But I can get to the same content through Google, or MSN, or Alta Vista (if it still exists...). Funnily enough, they always go for the easy targets, instead of solving the actual problem (i.e. we get charger WAY to much for content that isn't easily available in a format I want, when I want it, legally).
I know quite a few 26 year olds who live in Cheltenham, most of whom work in IT. I wonder if it's someone I know... - Miniman, on 11/04/2007, -3/+43So... Anyone got any good replacement sites?
- Siphen21, on 10/23/2007, -5/+41This is Bull SH*t
- vkuuumar, on 10/23/2007, -5/+41Would that shut down all the sites that TVLinks linked their videos to?
- warkro, on 10/25/2007, -1/+37TVLinks had the best listing for documentaries anywhere.
- OblivionMage, on 10/22/2007, -3/+38***** the MPAA, RIAA, CRIA, retarded copyright laws, and most large corporations that are monopolizing and dictating the world
- dotlizard, on 10/22/2007, -0/+31sucks except for the Swedish. for them, it rocks -- they're like, the hub of the "free" world at this point.
- inactive, on 10/21/2007, -2/+32Note to all "pirate" sites. . . . make it open source so a million people can run the same site.
But really, LOL @ these dinosaurs fighting the new world. A download does != lost sale - JoeDiggsIt, on 10/22/2007, -0/+27They do have the bandwidth.
- TheWorm, on 10/21/2007, -0/+25Tv-Links was formerly another site that got shut down. All that content is mirrored by other sites and it will be up again under a new server in no time. Thank you to the 26 year old chelteham man though. It was much appreciated while it lasted.
- ProducedRaw, on 10/21/2007, -2/+26Careful, Digg will get shut down for "facillitation".
< /sarcasm> - twtmc, on 10/23/2007, -1/+25This is digg. You are allowed to say ***** here.
- brad016, on 10/21/2007, -2/+25I know how you feel, now I have to whatch TV with...ugh, my damn family :(
- D3koy, on 10/21/2007, -0/+23But will that have as catchy a title? I think not....
- D3koy, on 10/21/2007, -1/+23I just tried to watch The Office and noticed it was down...sad to hear, but it is becoming more common for major networks to post popular shows...(NBC does post full episodes of The Office)
- tech42er, on 10/20/2007, -1/+19Did they shut down EZTV and the others they linked to? Then we're in trouble.
- nhprm, on 10/20/2007, -3/+20And they had just added some Family Guy. @*#$#@#*#$*(%(%($*!@~^#
- chris480, on 10/21/2007, -1/+18http://72.14.205.104/search?q=cache:p2SEATY3uYgJ:w ...
dont forget about his - ahpro, on 10/22/2007, -0/+17"If I link to TVLinks am I then a co-conspirator?"
Don't give them any ideas! - akpotato, on 10/20/2007, -4/+20What does the Recording Industry Association of America have to do with TVLinks, a site that hosted links to TV shows online?
- DeusNova, on 10/22/2007, -2/+17http://www.eztvefnet.org/ FTW
- andycr512, on 11/12/2007, -0/+14Because our legal system is screwed.
- LeeSoong, on 11/12/2007, -0/+14So how hard would it be to write a program:
1. distributes web video streaming among many random host systems
2. so it kind of acts like bit torrent and white rabbit
3. once randomized IP masked hosts are up everywhere, live TV can be streamed 24/7
4. Some hosts go down, doesn't matter - the client calls and caches video frames from other hosts.
Obviously they would all need to share the same files / live TV feed - but
with what P2P has been able to do so far, a distributed LiveTV p2p network can be done. - actorboy, on 10/21/2007, -0/+14....and we all appreciate you for the time you'll serve.
- OJXs, on 10/21/2007, -0/+13not available in my location, which is Canada, and that is dumb...
- YourTechSupport, on 10/22/2007, -1/+14I'm replying just so I can come back to this list later... :D
- smartalecks, on 10/22/2007, -2/+15for each that dies there will be another...sidereel.com is one of my favs :D
- Jakerius, on 10/21/2007, -0/+13Couldn't they wait until I'd finished watching the last season of Buffy?
- CementShoes, on 10/20/2007, -1/+13DAMMIT!
- wbeavis, on 10/21/2007, -3/+15You assume his intention was not to narc on the actual violators? I should think that his services would only help the copyright holders by shining a spotlight on the violators. Nothing like killing the messenger, biting the hand that feeds you, etc.
This could be a dangerous precident. If merely linking is illegal, then what is the difference to printing out a URL. Are they no going to arrest anyone with a reference to such things. I'm sure every paper has listed Pirate Bay's URL, arrest them ALL!
Hey this could be cool. If courts make the records public (don't know UK laws), then they themselves might be violating the law by publishing the URLs in question. - Hoogs, on 10/21/2007, -0/+12No way...this really stinks. TV Links was THE site I used to go to whenever I wanted to see a movie/TV show. I'm sad.
- hellokerryberry, on 11/12/2007, -0/+12I think their plan backfired...
- kenvsryu, on 10/24/2007, -0/+12Nope, google video is still there. But no more transformers. :(
- dawnraid101, on 11/09/2007, -0/+12Who Cares? ***** them
- TomFrost, on 10/20/2007, -0/+12...or bittorrent, or any other of the 10 alternatives to downloading TV shows in HD quality commercial-free.
- theodenking, on 10/30/2007, -0/+11In this case, "they" is the UK government who do.
- shortarabguy, on 10/21/2007, -0/+11You'll probably know within a few weeks if one of them don't respond to any of your emails...
