- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Digg is a link dump, not a social bookmark.
- 06metzp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10What do you think this is, Slashdot?
- johnie1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6WTF is wrong with Wired, they review WEB-SITES and have no links. It's like they don't understand the internet.
- pankajsharma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Diigo has the sharing feature with community feature. Diigo allows a lot more like taking notes+blogging+stickies etc. In any case, it deserved a mention in that review by wired.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I honestly think out of this lot that maybe one or two will survive the test of time. One of those sites is most likely going to be del.icio.us
- lasvegas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You have to click on "read full review" for each service to get their link. Still that is annoying as hell.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Did anyone else read 'Social Bookmarking Shutdown'?
Like the RIAA found a reason. - brandiniman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I like http://www.clipmarks.com because you can sue it for yourself only by keeping clips private or let them float all over the place to be popped (similar to being dugg). I found it useful so that I could save a part of a page I need rather than bookmark the whole thing... this does both.
- lasvegas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You cant leave out yahoos new bookmark service with screenshots, which you can pull down your favorites via ie toolbar plugin (hope they enable it for firefox soon) it uses both folders and tags,
http://new.bookmarks.yahoo.com - bioskope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2how is that social bookmarking?
- adam.skinner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I prefer http://www.diigo.com
Being able to bookmark, tag, socially comment on, highlight sections of (and then look at an overview of your highlights later), post notes on specific highlights that the whole diigo community sees: some killer features. - ElMoselYEE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2is there a reason you're here? if you hate all social anything sites...you obviously hate digg.
- todaysdigger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well you could say it is boomarking what people think... I reckon that is a kind of social bookmarking... maybe better to call it social benchmarking... :)
- trashlikeyou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@neoform
del.icio.us was bought out by yahoo a while ago - neoform, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2nah, they'll all just merge or get bought out.
Wired just bough reddit.com, that site wasn't overly amazing either.. - Renshep, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.spurl.com is also a great option. Cached copy, thumbnail, import (a sometimes overlooked but vital feature if you already have a huge pile of bookmarks) export, delicious mirroring, excellent spurl bar extension in Firefox. Spurl has been a winner for me, and I've done the research on the different options and tried many.
- plimpton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There's always the new http://www.trendi.com if you're tired of the norm
- UberGeekGamer, on 10/12/2007, -8/+7What happened to digg?
- todaysdigger, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2hmmm that http://humanopinion.org looks quite interesting.. not sure if it will work though?
- v3xt0r, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2f social * sites, it's better to host these services on your own site, that way YOU own the data, and aren't making more money for the monopolies and marketing research analysts by using these 'social' ad-revenue-generating services, dealing with their spamvertisements, etc.
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2why use any of those sites. All social bookmarking sites just go down the ***** after a few years, its written in the bible somewhere.
- neoform, on 10/12/2007, -13/+3This story needs more shameless plugs.
http://www.newsique.com/ - earthgecko, on 10/12/2007, -16/+2You are dugged :)
Here is another new kind of social networking site that just launched... interesting About... and an education award for students too... One to keep an eye on!
