- mikekeen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If I wanted to watch ad supported television, I'd turn on my TV.
- vertinox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is what I want and not VoIP. I'm tired of paying comcast a buttload of money to watch only 3 channels (and all those other ones I don't watch).
- VaamYob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Couldn't you have just looked out the window ?
- ihaterobots, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1didn't we all know what "Venice" was like a month ago? why is yahoo news just now figuring this out?
- clokwise, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2There are already a number of P2P TV services - surprisingly they all seem to be coming out of China. With live TV from CNN, BBC, HBO, FOX, Al Jazeirra plus of course a zillion Chinese channels.
Of course their programming is not legit, but I seriously doubt any commercial P2P video service will be. So let's hope the Chinese learn how to translate their clients and instructions into English then many more of us can use them.
None of these Chinese P2P video services are all that reliable, however, they came in VERY handy once. When the country I live in was taken over in a coup a few weeks ago the army cut all TV and Radio, but apparently forgot to cut off the internet. It was with one of these Chinese services that I tuned into CNN and watched live footage and reports of the coup in my own city. :D - vermin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A legal, more reliable, ad-supported version of TVU is what this seems like. Could be a hit if the content is there.
- misterpony, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Hmmm...maybe a partnership with Revision3?
- willmaxx, on 12/12/2007, -0/+0After testing various TV software and visiting loads of sites. most of them offer a free trial or preview and then they make you pay to sign up, or are cluttered with ads. I think that is ridiculous... so ive done my research and have found a couple of really decent sites. The first one Id like to draw your attention to is (viewmy.tv) This site has almost 1300 channels from around the globe and counting. it is free to register and they dont ask for stupid details, just your username and email address. It actually streams live channels so you dont have to download any and they have a pretty easy way of finding the channel you want. You can search through genre, country, region or name of the channel. oh and there are no ads either. Check this one out. With over 1300 channels from hundreds of countries, loads of features like channel rating, user recommendations, live chat, profile pages and much much more.
- esengulov, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0based on the wide adoption of the two former services founded by those 2 guyz, i am really looking forward to see this one

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3diggnation should be on cable
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2don't digg me down. i didn't know where else to share this information. none of my friends know who kevin rose is and i'm not gonna start a blog just for this story. well anyways i ran into kevin rose earlier this morning at starbucks. the conversation was just small talk and shor. he was really friendly and didn't make the fact that i approached him as a fan awkward. any questions feel free to ask.
