- lintmonkey, on 09/03/2008, -0/+70Wow, Sergey. Get some sleep.
- specialK16, on 09/03/2008, -3/+34Using Chrome here. So far so good... wait,
what are those ads doing on my digg??? - ColorBlind, on 09/03/2008, -6/+32it's a beta, calm down.
- peaceninja, on 09/03/2008, -1/+25what's ray romano doing making browsers?
- konataXchan, on 09/03/2008, -3/+23He looks tired...
- lintmonkey, on 09/03/2008, -1/+21NO, I WILL NOT CALM DOWN
- soccaparker, on 09/03/2008, -1/+18"We're still a pretty small company."
- Pwntastic, on 09/03/2008, -0/+15Chrome is cool, but having been developed by a company that makes its money from ads, I'm skeptical about any future adblock plugins for it.
- Wuss, on 09/03/2008, -5/+16Okay, am I retarded, but in nowhere in Chrome does it allow you to import your GOOGLE bookmarks.
Call me crazy for wanting to use my Google bookmarks in my Google browser, but it would be nice considering every single one of my bookmarks is in google. - cozmoz365, on 09/03/2008, -0/+8Here you go:
http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/request.p ... - baldr, on 09/03/2008, -1/+8have you tried it yet? it sounds like you haven't...
Firstly, the benchmarks with javascript are amazing.
Secondly, what is wrong with more competition in the browser marketplace? - JustinHopewell, on 09/03/2008, -0/+6Only in the eyes. But his voice is spot on!
- tomis, on 09/03/2008, -0/+5Welcome to WebKit.
- Wuss, on 09/03/2008, -1/+6Gmail's in Beta too, your point?
I mean, it's a browser.
Google does off-site bookmarks.
Do the math. Google Bookmarks in Google browser. We're talking Google here, not a room of chimps. - xL0Sx, on 09/03/2008, -0/+5Fine then, it's my opinion and strong recommendation that the above user astro900, heretofore know as ("Idiot") should cease using Microsot's Windows 2000 operating system and ... GET WITH THE TIMES.
- mohsenxp, on 09/03/2008, -5/+10Stop using 2000.
- VodkanLemons, on 09/03/2008, -3/+7I want Android !!!
- mastazed, on 09/03/2008, -1/+5i wanted to hear what apple had to say about chrome.
- armchairexpert, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3The guy looks like how I feel
- Zippo, on 09/03/2008, -2/+5You feelin' the pressure yet, Microsoft?
The end of IE is getting closer and closer. - techdever, on 09/03/2008, -1/+4easy on the dope Sergey...
- jeremyduffy, on 09/03/2008, -1/+4They're primary reason is to have a browser plugin you can't turn off. Read the license agreement. Especially the part about collecting your information and selling it to third parties.
- estvir, on 09/03/2008, -2/+4So, they improve it by people using an early version.. but if people form an opinion and express it those people are 'retards'?
You're one smart chap. - Awspire, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2"Google did not want to look they are roping everyone into using their services by optimizing browser for their own services. I think anyway."
If that's the case, then their idiots. I want Chrome to have ALL Google services seamlessly integrated, with exclusive features. - anillop, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2I would never give up firefox because I doubt Goggle will allow me to use ad blocking software.
- leonico, on 09/03/2008, -1/+3From what I can tell, the idea is not to reduce Firefox's market share, but increase the share for alternative browsers. In other words, the idea is for both Firefox and Chrome to reduce IE's market share. Sounds good!
- optimo, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2wow thats exactly what he said at the end
- tinkafoo, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2"Yeah.. I was uh.. just testing Google Nap. You know, because people.. officeworkers need an alternative to --to just sleeping on their desks. Still working out bugs, haven't implemented featuresthat are like uh, keep you from slurringspeech, something that combs your hair.. we might even add something that helps you put on a better shirt, but that's really low priority."
- rodrigo74, on 09/03/2008, -0/+21. When I right-click on a link here I do see the option "open in new tab", is that what you mean?
2. Ad blocking? from Google, that makes money from ads? Doesn't sound very logical, does it? But anyway, they have a plugin API, so it's just a question of days until adblocking arrives, and I am pretty sure that many Firefox addon developers are having fun as we speak porting their code to Chrome, they know that the first ones will get more visibility.
The biggest bummer I had with Chrome so far is that it doesn't handle RSS feeds in any form, I like to have RSS feeds on my bookmark toolbar, opening like a folder. I am very impressed with the speed, though. Overall an excellent release, doesn't feel rushed (which is not the norm nowadays). - Lingur, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1Uhh... what just happened Digg? When I replied, baldr hadn't replied! Digg just attached my comment to the wrong comment!
Weird. Anywho, my comment was meant for poprocksandsoda. - bacon_skoda, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1or youtube downloading.
- echoda, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1Does anyone know the question the female reporter asked him? It's towards the end and she mentions something about "Microsoft" and "2009".
- mempko, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1sergey has some serious rolls under his eyes. Must have been up making sure all the porn on the internet still works.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1I have already set it as my default browser. Plugins could make me use it exclusively. I still need Firebug and stuff, so Firefox stays. Also, I would like to have a Classic native Windows theme. That's all I need.
- Antimatter3009, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1Adblock, mouse gestures, and tab mix plus equivalent functionality and I'm there (oh, and cross-platform for my other computers).
- renegadeafk, on 09/03/2008, -1/+2Hosts file dude.
- h2d2, on 09/03/2008, -1/+2I need overflow:auto CSS support. Please.
- xatx3, on 09/03/2008, -1/+2yeah he looks all meth'd up
- ColorBlind, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1Well yes, but that would just make sense now wouldn't it?
- MaxD, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1true enough, but people shouldn't bitch if they're using an obviously obsolete operating system.
- Eisim, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1he's rich. rich people doesn't sleep.
- nafnosseb, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1Ha I have same problem. Google did not want to look they are roping everyone into using their services by optimizing browser for their own services. I think anyway.
- tripston, on 09/08/2008, -0/+1Who would've thought having all that money can make you look like that.
- bluedig, on 09/07/2008, -0/+1I have been using for a week now. It been really fast.
- mohsenxp, on 09/05/2008, -0/+1See there's a difference.
A beta by definition is a pre-final version released for testing.
If you form an opinion about the beta, you are forming an opinion about the beta, and not the final version.
So yes, if you make up your mind about a software due to the beta version, you are somewhat retarded. Though I use that word lightly.
Finally, criticizing a beta version is what you should be doing. No developer releases a beta to sit there and wait for the compliments.
ps. Thanks I know. Though I hate the term chap, pal. - Awspire, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1Foxmarks is about the only reason I use Firefox exclusively. If Google creates the same type of synchronizing that Foxmarks does, I'll probably switch to Chrome, cause Chrome is sooooo damn fast, particularly starting it, damn near instant-on access.
- bradhart2, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1wasn't impressed with chrome. it will stay for the same reason explorer and all other non FF browsers do, so I know if my web designs look ok.
- ryborg, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1Yeah.. it's called marriage.
- ColorBlind, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1Nah, they definitely just forgot.
- SniperGX1, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1lulz factory
