- stupidverizon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Just so sick of social networks...
- actorboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Now if they could just launch a good magazine...
- BornWithRage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6You said it... and the fact that this one will be crawling with pseudo indie-elitist ***** will make it even worse than myspace.
- kaiser44, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Rolling stone magazine has not been relevant for twenty years.
- macewan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3*smacks head* Why hasn't anyone else thought of this yet?
- BenBenMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3MyStone?
- bpapa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I agree with the linked article, I don't think that Rolling Stone's readership is hip to the Social Networking scene.
Trust me though, I have seen ideas for even weirder social networks than this one... - GhostFreeman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2RollingSpace
- aintnosin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well, now we know that social websites are officially passe, now that the king of all formerly relevant publications is getting into the act.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2As if we needed more proof that Rolling Stone is out-of-touch with the market.
Just publish good insightful articles on popular topics and you'll sell magazines. Being an also-ran just makes you un-cool. - Pie_Man, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I saw a spoofee deal for 4 years of Rolling Stone for $5. Even at that price it is a total ripoff. I can honestly say that I am surprised that they can fill a 100 page magazine on a monthly basis with material that has no redeeming quality whatsoever...none. After about 3 months it started going straight from the mailbox to the garbage can. I would cancel, but it isn't direct and will not work despite pleas to the clearing house to make them stop sending it to me.
Biggest waste of paper EVAR!!!!?!?! - bondjamsbond, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's official. Everyone has a social network now.
Can we stop calling them this and just call them what they are - essential features for a web community in 2007. If this were 1997, we'd be reading about Company X plans to launch a bulletin board. - Hennell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Spacedbook
- sensibledriver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why?
What's next? "Rolling Stone to copy another web trend that is nearing it's end run, Digg." - pokka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://rollingstone.ning.com
- goodbeershow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1HighSpace
- TankRamp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Because MySpace is the only social network the executive who greenlighted this has ever heard of? That's my bet.
- bendedavis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I love last.fm
http://last.fm/user/bendedavis , add me if you want
btw, the last.fm link in your profile doesn't work. - Gastrodamus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Too bad mog is already doing this. And much better than decrepit Rolling Stone could hope to.
- kidkel69, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I'll tell you what. Rolling Stone needs to hire me to launch the social network. I have studied pop culture and the Internet extensively. If RSM would start featuring Cyber Spacer's on the cover they will win back the X, Y, and Z generation. What is "Z" you ask? "The sleepers " 2-4 min attention span. video, You Tube, MY Space

I already have the consumer's they need! - bendedavis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Mog sucks. I tried it out for a bit but last.fm is the best.
- kidkel69, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Well Maybe writing them and my site will get noticed. Three years in the making
