- RootDaddy, on 02/21/2008, -3/+110"...spindles of blank CD-Rs are a common indication that piracy is taking place."
I'll agree with that so long as they agree that stacks of John Doe lawsuits are an indication that the raping of basic freedom from innocent people is taking place. - dekuscrub, on 02/21/2008, -1/+69Dugg for being "leaked." I love irony.
- Tenetri, on 02/21/2008, -0/+61I wouldn't steal a car, or a handbag, or anything....
Although, if someone said... "Hey, do you want a copy of my new corvette?"
I would graciously accept his generous offer, and then drive into the sunset. - staxofmax, on 02/21/2008, -0/+54Come to think of it, computers are also commonly possessed by music pirates.
- alexgap, on 02/21/2008, -0/+47This boggles the mind.
"There are some sayings in certain parts of the jurisdiction when you buy a CD, 'would you like it with or without'," Walters adds. "The 'with' is a CD enclosing a piece of crack or whatever the case may be."
Seriously? Have they given up on any semblance of reality and just started making up threats of evil terrorist-pirate-drug-dealers? - andycr512, on 02/21/2008, -0/+45I don't remember the last time I burned illegitimate copies of things onto CD's, yet I used to buy and use a 100-spindle every year for data, backups, etc... I do believe that someone thinks a bit too highly of themselves if they think the only possible use of blank media is to copy -their- crap.
- mojojeetsoo, on 02/21/2008, -0/+40Anyone got the torrent for this yet?
- TheSesom, on 02/21/2008, -0/+35Spindles of blank CDs are indicative of piracy?
Damn, I guess every electronic shop is either promoting piracy or being pirates themselves. - dogstar0125, on 02/21/2008, -0/+32"...spindles of blank CD-Rs are a common indication that piracy is taking place." Has this idiot ever heard of digital photography or digital video editing? Where does he suppose all those consumers keep all that media? CD-R and DVD-R.
- technoredneck, on 02/21/2008, -0/+32I hear those pirates be breathin' mad oxygen too. Greedy, sordid *****.
- Shogi, on 02/21/2008, -1/+25Don't copy that floppy!
- Animal, on 02/21/2008, -0/+19Music pirates have also been increasingly shown to own motor vehicles, eat food two, three or more times a day and sleep between 5 and 10 hours out of every 24 hour period.
- bdbr, on 02/21/2008, -1/+19Dear RIAA,
I have some good news and bad news, and more good news.
First the good news - people DO buy music they download. For some of us, that's the only way we hear it in the first place. I'm listening to music at this moment that I downloaded and then later purchased on CD.
Now the bad news - as long as you continue to behave like a bunch of pricks, none of the music I buy will come from your labels.
Finally the good news - I won't download your music either. That seems to be very important to you (even more important than whether I actually buy it, strangely enough). If your labels wither away and die...well, you asked for it.
***** you very much,

- Innisskillin, on 02/21/2008, -1/+14RIAA can bite an ass. Why can't everyone just share. Greed will be our demise!
- Cryoniq, on 02/21/2008, -1/+14As a Swede I cannot help but laugh my azz off many times over from this.
- basic0, on 02/21/2008, -0/+13This is what happens when you ***** a stranger in the ass!

- fiorenza, on 02/21/2008, -2/+13PSA: Reefer Madness is a great damn movie.
- BackdoorBeauty, on 02/21/2008, -0/+10Because, you know, terrorists always watch pirated movies and download pop albums, and they're constantly Torrenting weapons of mass destruction (though it takes awhile with their throughput).
RIAA, Homeland Security... who knew that they were one and the same? - Assezdefromage, on 02/21/2008, -0/+10I would say so. I'm curious about what areas this saying is actually used in... and if anyone has actually said or heard this before this article?
- BeefBaron, on 02/21/2008, -0/+10Basic freedoms? There's MONEY at stake, boy!
- MindTrigger, on 02/21/2008, -0/+9As an American, I will join you in hearty laughter, because this ***** doesn't work on us either.
- xinmyname, on 02/21/2008, -0/+9You are entering a world of pain.
- m0zzie, on 02/21/2008, -2/+11obligatory ***** THE RIAA!
- grakker, on 02/21/2008, -0/+9Situational irony. You are thinking of dramatic irony. They are different.
- hydratedsquash, on 02/21/2008, -0/+8The RIAA is pissed over their rug!
- kaelyiesta, on 02/21/2008, -0/+8I dont see why you are being dugg down. Reefer Madness is a great government propaganda movie to watch stoned.
- Atomic1fire, on 02/21/2008, -0/+7Fighting weapons of mass Scientology
- chicoer2001, on 02/21/2008, -0/+7They're going after the wrong people. The college students/grandmas arent making illegal money off of movies to fund god know what.
- DeathJux, on 02/21/2008, -0/+7The original government propaganda movie was entertaining, and good for a laugh. However, the modern remake "Reefer Madness: The Musical" is one of the most hilarious and brilliant movies I have ever seen. For those of you not averse to "the reefer," I guarantee you will cripple yourself by laughing so hard.
- Assezdefromage, on 02/21/2008, -1/+8Preschool taught me that sharing was good. Who's the RIAA to tell us otherwise?
- nblsavage, on 02/21/2008, -0/+7Not to mention Kristen Bell in this number: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqEyDMPBrsc
- chthonicdark, on 02/21/2008, -2/+8Spindles of blank CDs are indicative of piracy/terrorism .... hmm
Spindles of blank DVDs are indicative of the manufacture of WMDs?
Spindles of Blank BluRays are indicative of genocide? - pigfister, on 02/21/2008, -0/+6Its as stupid as propaganda gets, and if a single DA thinks any of the RIAA rhetoric rings true, America is truly a dumb country.

- yujie, on 02/21/2008, -0/+5Anonymous where are u?
- Daz3, on 02/21/2008, -0/+4I guess it is stealing intellectual property, but you certainly are not preventing a legitimate sale of the product by removing an item from a shelf; perhaps you even downloaded something just out of interest and that you wouldn't even consider paying money for.
- BearinG, on 02/21/2008, -0/+4Leads to Backup tapes.. and recently, the dangerous BD-R..
- inactive, on 02/21/2008, -3/+6its not like I shopliffted the CD from the store, im just downloading 1s and 0s that happen to make music files that are purchasable at a store as a CD, downloading ones and zeros isnt stealing is it?
- innocentsinner, on 02/21/2008, -0/+3Why would the RIAA care about bootleg movies?
- darkamster07, on 02/21/2008, -0/+3I really don't want to have to pay extra for the CD when all I wanna buy is drugs! WTF? why did they think I was pirating music in the first place?
