- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+83***** that *****. Blogs are written the way people talk. What's so offensive about that?
It's the inane content of most blogs that I find truly offensive. - Akaji, on 10/12/2007, -5/+39I'm in your offenses, evolutioning your relativity.
- desistere, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30Offensive is completely relative. Some people find evolution offensive, some people find the word "*****" offensive. If you don't like it, don't read it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23If we can shut Congress and the President up -- everything else will work itself out.
- Bisquick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18GOOD. Frankly, I worry about the other 20 percent that managed not to offend people.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Offensive to WHOM. It's a completly relative term. By offensive, you mean offensive to YOU. Well then I didn't write my blog for you.
Go piss on someone else's lawn, jackass. - theotheragentm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15@carguy84
That would mean 64% of Digg material is offensive. - hambend, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15In other news, 80% of people contain "offensive" content.
- JorgeGonzalez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Report: 90 percent of stats are made up.
- stuckinOK06, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13"There were as many blogs with the 'F-word' as the word 'China',"
This can mean either:
(a) Most people were talking about ***** China, ***** in China, ***** with China, or China ***** us or
(b) neither word was a significant part of the "blogosphere."
***** useless study. - FuzzyHacker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11100% of me doesn't care.
- sysoprock, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13I've crafted a well written rebuttal that can be read at *****.typepad.com
- zizzy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10"A blog merely has to contain a single instance of profanity to be considered offensive, according to ScanSafe"
I wonder how exactly they went around gathering this information, because if each blog wasn't read individually by an actual person "offenseive" comments might have counted. - Akaji, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13"Quick, we must assembled the congress and the supreme court and the president and anyone else we can muster and make the naughty people shut up!"
At least, that's the only real purpose I see in this article... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Solution:
Ban prudes from the internet....... - icepick101, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12I don't care what anybody says, George Carlin is a funny *****.
- colinrgodsey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9just shows were a society offended by itself
- Arcan, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14@fooplex
It's the message that's important, not the medium. For example, your statement manages to be offensive (not to mention elitist and arrogant) without saying a single "bad" word. But I could say ***** damn ***** etc. and never say a mean word to anyone.
I've always hated the phrase "bad words." No word has an inherent meaning or value - good, bad, clean, or vulgar. They only mean what we as a society deem. And if you're willing to miss out on what might perhaps be an intelligent idea because you don't like the way it's phrased, then you're a ***** moron.
P.S. - I'm an English teacher - nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I'm going to campaign for all these bloggers to be fired from their self employment, they're way too offensive.
- Sneakernets, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10The internet: not for pussies.
- orangery, on 10/12/2007, -7/+15***** YOUR MOTHER FOR USING THE WORD BLOGOSPHERE
***** YOU - dezmd, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14*****, I say piss on the ***** *****, those ***** dont know ***** ***** about offensive content.
Cheers.
Obligatory *****, Piss, *****, *****, *****, ***** and ***** - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8wont the web be great if anyone can ask for anything "offensive" to be taken down :/
- xmuzik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7offensive content is prime content in my opinion
- laserblazer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Blogs don't get all their content from the same sewer. That fact makes them offensive to the FOX/MSNBC/CNN/BBC/AL-J sheep.
- unoriginal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I don't need someone else to tell me what is offensive. People that look for things to be offended at need to find something better to do with their time.
- TheCasablancan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9You know what I love? Bitches. Why? Because they're so delicious.
I love Bitches 'cuz they're so delicious.
I could eat'em every day, and my mom says that's OK.
I. LOVE Biiiiitches. - Aliarse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Shut up you bunch of batty boys.
Or would you prefer fudge packer? ;) - ahhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6ScanSafe: Protecting morons from themselves.
- BGog, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9@fooplex you are an elitist idiot.
"Educated people don't talk like that" is something your mom told you so you wouldn't swear. I live and work among some exceptionally gifted and well educated scientists and I'd like you to know that they can swear with more creativity than any dock worker.
Get over yourself. - niczar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Well, ***** China!
- laserblazer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Patently incorrect.
- ericrous, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I wonder if the National Rooster Foundation website is blocked for talking about their *****.
- Speed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Since offensive is dependent on the person, I'd have to say that 100% of blogs contain "offensive" content, since you're almost guaranteed to offend someone.
- thesixthdesign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Well it's not like blogs are supposed to be happy storybooks .. they're like diaries and contains the thoughts of people -- and most people often rant in their blog or blog when they're feeling overemotional, such as being depressed or angry.
- mysticalone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I find the existence of ScanSafe offensive. And Symantec. And I find wasting money on these "analysis" offensive to the consumers wallet. And I also find it offensive that I start additional sentences improperly with "and".
- wachter1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Vulgarity is the virtue of our times.
- JonnyCash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4How did they manage to go from the f word to drive by virus installs and tie them both in as being "offensive" ...seems like there may be some kind of hidden agenda against that dangerous thang called "freedom" that happens occasionally on line.
- Badspeller, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4a method of expressing your thoughts anonymously results in people acting out? shocking..
- AnotherBrian, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4So what.
- V1ncent, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Blogospherians (daily bloggers) are the key to what's wrong w/blogs. Stop clogging our tubes ya twits!
- carguy84, on 10/12/2007, -9/+12Wow arstechnica, way to steal a story from scansafe.
BTW, 80% of digg submissions are blog spam. so 80% of digg content is offensive. - fireball74, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think people need to be offended every now and again..... *****
- kindrobot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5what a *****
- diggerphelps, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2*****, please.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_dirty_words#The_seven_dirty_words_and_cable_television - Katana314, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's not surprising. People want to say something when they feel strongly about it. Why feel strongly about something if there's no opposition?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Offensive to who? That's the big question now isn't it?
- small3687, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2On that note 80 percent of people are offended by nothing.
- Aliarse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Agreed.
Shouldn't be too difficult - Just Ban all AOL accounts. -
