- starbabe, on 03/18/2008, -0/+5It's almost 2am and I need to be up at 6am, guess that might be a compulsion.
- JesseTheCat, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4I adore the internet, always have since the first moment I got myself online a while back! I would say its an addiction,ha ...I know I would rather be online than doing my chores, which is difficult...cos the chores dont go away :)
- linkingpro, on 03/18/2008, -1/+4People adding that to the psychiatry’s official guidebook of mental disorders are mental!
- OgniAsuob, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3You're all mentalists!!!
- bjornski, on 03/18/2008, -1/+3It actually makes a lot of sense. Compulsions are a typical human "need". Everyone has compulsions to do something. It might be cleaning your nails (OCD) or painting (art bug), or making money (drive for "success"), EVERYONE has compulsions.
They're not abnormal behavior, they're entirely normal. Addictions to ALL things happen in ALL people. Some need "church", some go to concerts and "rock out", and some sit and play video games and chat on discussions boards.
Everyone has an addiction. They're not always unhealthy. It depends on how you use them. - lekahe, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2And so what? If you are happy and your family is not complaining, there is no need to cure it.
I know many more habits which I regard as disorders but are not listed.
I think in the future people who read stuff like this, either laugh or cry about the attitudes... - Pogojoe, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2I just don't see how this is true. Before the internet didn't people just sit around watching TV or before that listening to the radio. Some people still buy newspapers everyday and they're not called 'addicts'. The internet is where people get their information from. Simple as that.
- wysiwygd, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1It's just another way to push pharmaceuticals!
- veracity024, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2gotcha bro
- abovetheneck, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2I would say that I like the internet, but I don't "crave" it. It's convenient, and I most certainly use it daily, but I could stop if absolutely required. These days, though, it's hard to go without using it.
- gunnerrs, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2if you can't resist to check your mails and digg everyday then i think you r addict
go visit a doctor - garagethrash, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2Internet Addiction is not a mental disorder. It's a symptom of a mental disorder, probably anxiety or depression.
- hippieslaugh, on 03/18/2008, -1/+1I think of my addiction as more of an "election addiction".
- allenk77, on 03/18/2008, -0/+0It sure is addictive but what isn't. Stop making excuses for everything, then tv and music have to be made disorders also. You are the weakest link if you have this "Disorder"
- Ridgeliner7, on 03/18/2008, -2/+2It isn't a "new" compulsive-impulsive disorder, it is merely a newer manifestation of an existing disorder. Ego is merely at work here, with the so-called "victims" wanting some new disorder so they will feel special, apart from others. Silly stuff.
What is Digg?
