- Ratteler, on 11/14/2007, -10/+2042000 zero seven, career over, whoops not online....
So tonight I'm gunna sell out like it's 1999. - inactive, on 11/14/2007, -5/+197 “YOU CAN’T SUE A COMPANY FOR ADVERTISING ON A SITE WHICH IS A SEARCH ENGINE, ESPECIALLY IF IT IS IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY WITH DIFFERENT LAWS”
-Quoted from a mentally retarded hamster, who happens to be smarter than the Web Sheriff - Lane, on 11/13/2007, -3/+150Why with all the people who are downloading prince he could be in for tens of dollars when all is said and done.
- Apokalyps2547, on 11/14/2007, -8/+139You lost me at "Prince, one of the most creative and talented musicians..."
- jmgoody311, on 11/13/2007, -6/+113Title should read "Despite Delusions of Grandeur, Prince Still Sucks"
- D3koy, on 11/13/2007, -3/+101How embarrassed will Prince be once he realizes that not only do all of his torrents have no leachers, it has no seeders either...
- syroncoda, on 11/13/2007, -11/+109Prince is an outdated little moron who still wears childrens clothing. If there were any fans left then they'll die off soon. anyone with half a brain doesn't live in the 80's as much as Prince does.
- xswag, on 11/14/2007, -5/+78I wouldn't waste the bandwidth on Prince.
- KiroLOL, on 11/13/2007, -4/+61Game...................Blouses........
- cococooky, on 11/13/2007, -3/+53In his defense, they don't sell mens clothes in his size. He has no choice but to buy from the kiddie rack.
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -7/+56You gotta be ***** me: Prince?!? "The artist" who's most likely the least pirated musician on Pirate Bay is suing them!?! Prince, great job trying to stay relevant you effeminate *****.
- willtrx, on 11/13/2007, -4/+52Prince is still alive?
- green1, on 11/13/2007, -5/+47Some musicians are starting to understand the web (Radiohead), others are missing the boat on the advice of some self appointed internet watchdog consultants (Prince + the web sheriff).
- fael, on 11/13/2007, -10/+43prince = *****
- kogeki, on 11/13/2007, -4/+36It sounds like this guy could not make it in real life law enforcement so now is the self anointed web sheriff. Does he really thing people are going to take him seriously? He actually signs his email "the Web Sheriff".
- aflaks, on 11/13/2007, -4/+34LETS CONTINUE TO NOT PURCHASE HIS MUSIC!
- absurdist, on 11/13/2007, -1/+31This reminds me of when Prince tried, in the 1980s, to sue toy Prince Spaghetti company. Never mind that they'd been incorporated for over 100 years, he claimed title to all use of the name "Prince" as a commercial entity.
After he lost the suit, the Prince Spaghetti company launched the short-lived, limited edition "Purple Grain" series. - dupswapdrop, on 11/12/2007, -1/+28Prince 1.0 needs an update.
- Super6, on 11/13/2007, -4/+30Prince... formerly known as an artist...
- gak001, on 11/14/2007, -2/+26Wait a sec... Prince still has fans?
- Matix947, on 11/13/2007, -6/+28"Prince, one of the most creative and talented musicians"
Good one... - Spamcan, on 11/12/2007, -2/+24He wants to party like it's 1999, at least up to September '99 when Napster came out. Maybe he wants to party like it's 1998?
- asdfrewq, on 11/12/2007, -0/+19"What happened?"
He realised no one wanted to go to his concerts or buy his merchandise, perhaps?
What does it matter now anyway? Prince screwed over the labels by giving his last album away, and now he's screwing over his fans. What's left of his career is now officially over. - nerdherder, on 11/12/2007, -0/+17Not if that country doesn't have laws against it.
- mllawso, on 11/13/2007, -0/+17You better watch yourself. They say the last man that crossed the Web Sheriff's path got a strongly worded email.
- Derrekito, on 11/12/2007, -0/+14For once, diggers can unite over a cause that WILL have a profound impact with little to no effort.
- D3koy, on 11/12/2007, -0/+13He's gotta be on at least 3.0 by now...What with all the "artist formerly known as" *****
- INTERNETMASTER, on 11/12/2007, -3/+16his career has been over for years. this is just a desperate attempt to make money through the courts because he can't make it any other way. he should have saved a little money when he was raking it in. too bad for him. haha.
- colincornaby, on 11/13/2007, -23/+36I'm sorry, but why do you people think you should be allowed to dictate how artists distribute music? If he doesn't want his stuff on Pirate Bay, that's his prerogative. A lot of people on Digg make the argument that the artist, not the RIAA, should make distribution decisions, but now everyone is going to get mad about the decision the artist makes...
- inactive, on 11/12/2007, -1/+14Dugg down for being a idiot, and saying 'modded up'.
- LosingTheFight, on 11/12/2007, -1/+14How about he sues the people that uploaded the files instead of the search engine? Safe harbor laws anyone?
- AntidoteSqrd, on 11/12/2007, -6/+17And based on the laws of the market system the distributor will either have to adapt to market demands or fail.
- SlipstreamLucas, on 11/12/2007, -1/+12I'm sure media defender would have seeded for him...out of pity.
- chromerium, on 11/12/2007, -3/+14dugg for the most insightful comment post on the internet, ever!
- kaintehdragoon, on 11/12/2007, -1/+12I think he was trying poetry or something. He shouldn't attempt again
- macwac, on 11/12/2007, -2/+12He would have greater success in suing Google for being a larger contributor of illegal file sharing.. how would the internet look like without search engines?
- kenvsryu, on 11/12/2007, -3/+13Dave Chapelle took on Prince.
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -2/+12If anything, Brokep is overestimating the amount of fans Prince still has.
- jordn, on 11/13/2007, -0/+9this is just getting silly. GO HOME, PRINCE.
- p0ss, on 11/13/2007, -0/+9Prince has fans?
- inactive, on 11/12/2007, -5/+14Digg: Yay piracy!
- inactive, on 11/12/2007, -1/+9Lars (ultra rich) should be having a boner right now...
- fearlessfx, on 11/12/2007, -1/+9It has begun.
- colincornaby, on 11/12/2007, -5/+13Sure. So if Prince fails it's his decision. That still doesn't mean you get to dictate to someone how to distribute their product.
- wedgemartin, on 11/12/2007, -0/+8One day soon it will be The Idiot Formerly Known As... Web Sherriff.
- absurdist, on 11/12/2007, -4/+12Uhm... his stuff isn't on Pirate Bay. Trackers pointing to his spew are. When those are made illegal, come let us know.
- thailand1972, on 11/13/2007, -2/+10Well Prince gave away his latest album for FREE in the UK on CD no less. He also said "***** you" to his label way back in the early 90s while NIN / Radiohead were cashing in millions from their labels. It's just that Prince had already made his millions by the early 90s when he said his "***** you". I predict Arctic Monkeys to do the same in around 2012 or so, just when they've made their 50th million. Then all the Diggers will go "props to Arctic Monkeys! They GET IT!". Sigh.
- absurdist, on 11/12/2007, -0/+8toy = the
*smacks forehead* - windwaker, on 11/12/2007, -2/+10*****, a reason to hate Prince.
