- 10goto10, on 12/18/2007, -15/+65Does anybody else have the feeling that the ONLY people who use this whole Pownce thing are Kevin Rose and his buddies, and a couple of his biggest fanboys?
- Cowfrommars, on 12/18/2007, -5/+42Awesome!!! Wait, people actually use Pownce?
- leahculver, on 12/18/2007, -15/+41I made this with Daniel (dburka) for his birthday today. Still really buggy but I hope it's fun to play with. Happy b-day Daniel!
- loqqq, on 12/18/2007, -1/+15One more IM account and I'll get a set of steak knives.
- Battlecry, on 12/18/2007, -2/+13Pownce is still invite only? Pfft.
- inactive, on 12/18/2007, -7/+14pownce is a failure
- DanH, on 12/18/2007, -4/+10why not just call it "Pownce for iPhone".. it doesnt look optimized for anything else.
- DS2600, on 12/18/2007, -1/+7Except for the whole being able to use it at work without having to install anything.
- roycifer, on 12/18/2007, -1/+7this is twitter worthy news
- xjgeek, on 12/18/2007, -8/+14Wait, it's HIS birthday but WE get an awesome present? I like it! Thanks a million Daniel and Happy Birthday!
- mr804, on 12/18/2007, -2/+7Pownce is garbage. sorry folks.
- inactive, on 12/18/2007, -5/+10Wait, so you can send messages, links, files AND events?!!?
WOW!! It sounds just like AIM and only 10 years late! - inactive, on 12/18/2007, -5/+9Who gives a crap its still in invite only beta.
- naturalblue23, on 12/18/2007, -1/+4Good job on getting it up and running, but it looks like crap on my Blackberry.
- pejrm, on 12/18/2007, -0/+3Pownce has a really good looking interface and the new mobile site is a welcome and long overdue addition. The desktop app doesn't work with the latest AIR install though. I don't know how many people use Pownce (or don't) but it is a good looking service and 2nd to Twitter for me. That being said, Plaxo Pulse has pretty similar functionality to Pownce - interesting potential there too.
- MarkBorton, on 12/18/2007, -0/+3Yup , looks like windows Smartphone users are left out. (I smell apple fanboy Keven Rose's hand in this)
- garbanzo, on 12/18/2007, -0/+2send me a shout with your email address and I'll hook it up.
- assassinave, on 12/18/2007, -2/+4Per that "Vista most disappointing" story from PC World, where are the worst Web 2.0 ideas of the year lists. For me Pownce would be on top of any such list. It adds nothing except more web junk to the landfill that is the internet. I know the developers are smarter than what they have produced here.
- adroit, on 12/18/2007, -1/+3If people want invites, just leave your email below and i will get them out too as many as possible
- adroit, on 12/18/2007, -0/+2do you want an invite? its not like they are hard to come by.
- napk, on 12/18/2007, -2/+4A clean adaptation.
I just wish I used Pownce. I really want to like it... Facebook and email do all of those things though. - Changa, on 12/18/2007, -0/+2On my treo it told me to turn on cookies...
Cookies are on. - bassplayer71, on 12/18/2007, -0/+2It doesn't work with the Blazer browser on my Palm Treo or Opera Mini on the same Treo. What good is a mobile service that doesn't work with mobile browsers? Who cares if it works with the iPhone if it doesn't work with all the other mobile browsers out there.
- inactive, on 12/18/2007, -0/+2yes. we all do. it's a bunch of *****.
- superjohnyo, on 12/18/2007, -0/+2I just tried to sign in on my phone (Samsung A640) and it told me to enable cookies :-(
- nyabutid, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1This whole file sharing dealio: http://skydrive.live.com
- qwerty69, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1Got to say it appears better on my iPhone than on my mac as a desktop app. If only I could have got some of my friends to use it! Alas email and MSN messenger are too prevalent in my social circle.
- MikeonTV, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1I has 27 invites
- inactive, on 12/18/2007, -8/+9That is EXCITING news for hte 5 people that bothered to sign up for it!
- inactive, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1For sharing files its nice - ut I sure as hell don't give a ***** about anyone's 'microblog'
- clari0n, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1For those having the cookie problem, I had it the first time I tried logging in on my iPhone, but I hit the logout button in the corner and tried again, and it worked. It just seems a bit glitchy.
- joncarr, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1"Linux skinned and sold at a massive profit on 2yr old pc hardware"
You must mean Compaq or Dell, or Gateway, right? Last I checked, Apple sold price-competitive hardware (see PC Mag's fastest Vista laptop), running a certified UNIX (not UNIX-like) OS. - skeeterbug84, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1Excuse for what? He simply stated his opinion. If you read most of opinions stated on this story, you can see his opinion is widely shared.
- blt3d, on 12/18/2007, -5/+6sweet! I can kiss all productivity during class goodbye now.
- gasin, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1http://mashable.com/2007/12/18/pownce-goes-mobile/
- bunkka, on 12/18/2007, -2/+3people use pownce?
- clari0n, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1LOL. I get the same error on my iPhone. I guess calling it Pownce for iPhone wouldn't be accurate either.
- clari0n, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1Good news! Pownce is popular enough to finally be blocked at my job! It's a good day for Pownce! Er, wait...
- MattBD, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1I love it, it's just a shame that Adobe AIR isn't yet available for Linux so I can't use the desktop app for it yet. Although, you can use Mozilla's Prism to make a fair substitute easily enough.
- gasin, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1Anybody got screenshots? I would like to see what the UI looks like.
Has any site (bothered to) post reviews for this? - sockpuppets, on 12/18/2007, -4/+5I doubt Kevin wants another nose up his ass for Christmas.
- skellener, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1Will it work on a Chumby?
- bowlerjim, on 12/19/2007, -1/+1pownce?????
- djdingo, on 12/18/2007, -1/+1This is the second time I have heard about Pownce. Didn't care for it the first time and still don't care about it this time.
"What the ***** is Pownce?", pretty much sums it up. - al876ani, on 08/19/2008, -0/+0http://forums.graaam.com/112544.html http://forums.graaam.com/87089.html http://forums.graaam.com/81947.html http://forums.graaam.com/51450.html http://forums.graaam.com/81178.html http://forums.graaam.com/107437.html http://forums.graaam.com/113874.html http://forums.graaam.com/96993.html http://forums.graaam.com/93604.html http://forums.graaam.com/109029.html http://forums.graaam.com/100885.html http://forums.graaam.com/94805.html http://forums.m7taj.com/thread478.html http://forums.m7taj.com/thread23967.html http://forums.m7taj.com/thread22576.html http://forums.m7taj.com/forum57 http://forums.m7taj.com/forum11 http://forums.m7taj.com/forum58 http://forums.m7taj.com/forum65 http://forums.m7taj.com/forum42 http://forums.m7taj.com/forum41 http://forums.m7taj.com/forum70 http://forums.m7taj.com/forum20 http://forums.m7taj.com/forum64
