- naughtyboy, on 10/11/2007, -4/+119Hey! Don't look at me!
- u8myfoood, on 10/11/2007, -3/+104@tikoz
is this how you discovered porn? - sockpuppets, on 10/11/2007, -3/+93The squatter on pron.com must be excited by this.
- blogmaker, on 10/11/2007, -2/+71Thousands upon thousands of horny people every day.
- Ireland, on 10/11/2007, -1/+38Sex.com sold in 2005 for $12 million, I guess sex sells?
- kalleanka, on 10/11/2007, -0/+36Do people even pay for porn these days?
Seriously? - AhmedF, on 10/11/2007, -3/+27The site (in its current form with 0 time-requirements) makes $150k.
They will make their money back in no time. - uptown, on 10/11/2007, -0/+23@AhmedF: where'd you get that $ amount from?
- Sneakmonkey, on 10/11/2007, -1/+20Now the question to ask is, how many of us went to the url after reading?
- Chillywilly, on 10/11/2007, -3/+19Never heard of it... (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)
- merreborn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15You're doing it wrong.

The prefix for this is micro.
So he bought {micro}soft.com .
Just bury him. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15I think that's a steal. They'll earn their money back in VERY little time, if they know what they're doing, at all, whatsoever.
#1 -- It should be extremely easy to rank on search engines for the query "porn". #2 -- The type-in traffic should be quite plentiful. #3 -- Branding opportunities, etc.
Porn.com should print money faster than the machines at the treasury department. - Canadianb123, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14Yeah.right. "the second largest ADULT domain transaction." How about "The second largest domain transaction." You're just wasting words with the first one.
- pipdip, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15The only people who visit sites like porn.com and sex.com are people new to the internet. I guess that's good because they can easily get back their $9m but honestly who would go to porn.com?
- joltjake, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14guilty, +1
- acceptab1euname, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14There I was, sitting in front of my computer, torn....dare I follow the link? Do I have the nerve to gaze upon another goatse/tubgirl/pain.jpg? Will I still want that pizza that's baking in my oven after seeing it? At negative eight diggs, it couldn't have been something terribly good, yet there was only one disgusted reply...throwing caution to the wind, took a deep breath and clicked....
And it's just some obese woman sitting in front of her laptop. Fully clothed, with orifices un-violated, sitting there. Just kinda sitting there.
What a ***** letdown. New goatse, my ass. - Eggman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10@uncoolcentral (#6705286)
i dont get it - davidsmero, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8What do you think porn.com hosts?
- merreborn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Funny that sex.com is currently at an all-time low re:traffic rank, now. Someone's doing a crappy job of capitalizing on their investment...
- nonpareil, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9I wonder how much I can get for Goatse.cx.
- Burritoking924, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9The new goatse/tubgirl.
- tkstock, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I think they should redirect it to www.pron.com.
- merreborn, on 10/11/2007, -1/+51e-6soft.com would probably be easier to understand...
even then. - cosmicr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I heard goatse.cx is for sale.
- spudnic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@craze3 (#6705308)
Advertising isn't the only business model you know... - AhmedF, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@uptown: It was up for auction in Vegas a few months ago - they topped out at ~7 million there.
The $150k is per month of course. - cap11235, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Use the reply button.
- Nougat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@Alex76 (#6695657)
I'm visiting one right now. - tybris, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Look! Bubbles!
- dicerandom, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4For those who were curious: porn.com is disappointingly SFW through my random sample of four clicks. If your workplace considers large-breasted women in swimming suits to be SFW anyway.
- Hitchhiker90, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Yeah that would be me.
- gamebittk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2What about porn for nerds? Wait-- that's what porn is for.
http://p0.rn/o - blankoboy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Bah, I go to skintube.com for all my self love needs =)
- eeedc, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Or nothing could come up for company, because the entire transaction was a scam.
Here is how it works kids:
Domain name lowlife owns good domain name, but can’t sell it near the 7.5 million he is asking.
Meanwhile, he has to pay the rent.
Lowlife puts up affiliate ads on his website making $20 to $50 for each porn sales.
Lowlife puts out a press release to blogs saying his domain “sold” for a record X million dollars with vague company.
Remember Wiki.com – turned out to be an option to buy for $10,000 not the millions.
Remember Whitehouse.com – turned down “offers for $2,000,000 – but even the NY Times wrote him up.
Lowlife gets thousands of people checking out his affiliate page, and thousands of links from increasing search engine rating.
Lowlife makes a few thousand dollars more per month.
Other domain name speculators who want to think they are next in line for the $12 million drink the kool-aid, while no one else cares. - RadioFiasco, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Wonder how much norp.com was. Us guys refer to porn as Norp most the time at work, part of our vocabulary now.
- d1ckles, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This was a real sale. Last time I checked Moniker.com was a massive domain brokerage and register. They brokered the deal and did the main press release. You guys are just haters.
- aserer511, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2teh ad views that can be generated from that domain....

- mbthompson, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Interesting that nothing comes up regarding MXN Ltd. if you google it, only stories about the sale. Wonder if it's a front of another corporation?
- xkidace, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1@spudnic
It is the most important however. - Necrid, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1still no one has bought www.halflife.com
- acceptab1euname, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1What makes you think a .com domain name will have that value, or any value at all, years from now?
- Aliarse, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1@SpaceEdge (#6704845)
The internet is for porn, the internet is for porn, why do you think the net was born?
Porn, Porn, Porn. - antongranik, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1*****.us
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I wonder how much http://*****.com would sell for
- maskedm564, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Was I the only one to notice that the picture that they used to relate to the article was a child looking at porn?
