- rtb1980, on 02/27/2008, -0/+0DesiHackerz.com is one of the sites that he uses to sell the stolen GoDaddy Domain Names and Stole PayPal accounts.
Join the site and see, it is a black market site full of illegal PayPal, Ebay, Back Accounts, Cpanel, and other personal finacial info. The site has been reported to GoDaddy by many people and it still exists.. Hmm. - RLKuhn101, on 02/17/2008, -0/+0I disagree.
I too was ripped off in the same type PP/GD scam this week for $600.00.
GD says that a domain transferred to or within GD cannot be transferred from GD for 60 days, which is true.
But GD will not even place a hold on the domain so it can't be resold to an unsuspecting buyer.
GD said they can only put a hold on a domain if the person scammed produces a court order.
By GD refusing to place a hold on the domain that is reported as fraudulently acquired by a GD customer, the scammer can resell the domain to another GD customer further complicating matters. (where is the customer service in this?)
That domain could actually be sold many times before a court order is produced .
In the end if a court order is produced and the domain has been sold guess who is going to be out of their money?
ANOTHER "valued" GD customer!
GD is enabling the scammers + perpetuating these scams because of their archaic policies that need to be updated to protect their GOOD customers .
Continue this trend and good customers will leave. and transfer their domains elsewhere to registrars that sincerely do care about their customers.
I went to GD after the Registerfly fiasco and I really like GD except for this one horrible practice of theirs.
Bad customer service was the downfall of Registerfly, I really hope that those responsible for making policy at GD see what they are doing to their "valued" customers and make the changes necessary to protect their valued customers.
Robert - nielsencl, on 02/16/2008, -0/+0People need to calm down a little and get all the facts. I called Godaddy about this issue that was posted over at http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=431828. A change of registrant transfer from one Godaddy customer to another does not involve an exchange of money at Godaddy. Therefore it is one person's word against anothers. In this case you have to realize Godaddy is not the domain police.
I'm not a bit fan of Godaddy, but in this case I don't feel they have done anything wrong, although it would be nice if they could help more than they are.
The most important thing to take away from this situation is that if you are paid for something, anything via PayPal, that you need to WAIT and make 100% the charge is not going to be reversed. I don't know how long you have to wait, or if you have to call PayPal, but we all now have to more careful than ever when selling or buying. - rtb1980, on 02/15/2008, -0/+0GoDaddy is doing absolutly nothing other than suppor the scammers and aid them in keeping the info private and allowing them to keep the stolen names.
- klklinc, on 02/15/2008, -0/+0Without us Godaddy would not exist! If they continue to support scammers and refuse to assist in recovering domains that have obviously been stolen by fraudulent means then they don't deserve our business. ICANN are no better, a toothless tiger for the common man!
