- Scranklin, on 07/01/2008, -6/+50Dugg for mentioning TheSixtyOne, truly one of the greatest music sites ever!
- Carpex, on 07/01/2008, -1/+30How is myspace still making those top lists?
Here's the full list:

Musicovery
BoomShuffle
finetune
last.fm
SkreemR
Songza
Pandora
Slacker
MySpace
imeem - hmunkey, on 07/01/2008, -5/+30TheSixtyOne is so amazing. I'm new to it, but I'm loving just listening to music and playing around. It's a game, a music center, everything in one.
- timothycrash01, on 07/01/2008, -2/+23Uh oh - The Sixty One spammers are in full force. Doesn't help that the site is linking to this Digg page from their home page once you log in
Funny enough, underneath their link, it also has a warning not to spam the Digg comments. Actually, it says this: "Note: over-zealous comments could get the story buried." - vinceislegend, on 07/01/2008, -0/+19Because 99% of musicians everywhere have their music on MySpace. See if you can think of 10 bands worth hearing who don't have one.
The site's ***** for social networking if you ask me, but as far as music goes, you can't deny it. - spoogieking012, on 07/01/2008, -4/+21ZOMG THE SIXTY ONE!!!
jees people. yeah site is cool and all, but does every single comment need to say so? that what the thumb up is for - WhiteHowler, on 07/01/2008, -3/+18I don't really buy CD's anymore, but between Pandora and (especially) TheSixtyOne, I've bought five albums in the last couple of months from bands I never would have heard otherwise. It's awesome to be able to support indie artists and not huge record companies.
- theprince, on 07/01/2008, -1/+121. TheSixtyOne
2. Pandora
3. Songza
4. Seeqpod. - Carpex, on 07/01/2008, -0/+11Myspace is littered with spam, ads and uglyness. I don't think I've ever seen a page on myspace that looks half decent.
- trollick, on 07/01/2008, -1/+11thepiratebay.org FTW
- passiveconsumer, on 07/01/2008, -3/+13OHHH *****!....yep. Bump-er, Dugg for thesixtyone.
- vinceislegend, on 07/01/2008, -5/+15Dugg for thesixtyone.
- scabbers, on 07/01/2008, -1/+10LOL at spam comments. You fail it.
- Siliticx, on 07/01/2008, -6/+15TheSixtyOne is pure awesome.
- DanielWashburn, on 07/01/2008, -2/+11I've discovered so much music on thesixtyone, a lot of the songs are free to download right from the site too.
Free Music FTW!!! - Weip, on 07/01/2008, -4/+12I would max bump this story if i could!
T61 for sure! - Doomsan, on 07/01/2008, -5/+13Bumped!
- gooberdude, on 07/01/2008, -3/+11Attention diggers who sign up to thesixtyone today: Could 10,000 of you stay logged in all day? Then we can all finally get the mosh pit achievement haha :)
- yohnstoppable, on 07/01/2008, -0/+8Both. The admin likes linking the digg articles on there. I got buried pretty bad for commenting on it here.
I do think thesixtyone is awesome, but some of the obvious spam comments are pretty lame. - beesaretasty, on 07/01/2008, -0/+7Pardon my ignorance but are CDs really $20 a pop??? That seems high, but then again I can't remember the last time I bought a CD.
- itsfullofstars, on 07/01/2008, -3/+9Thank god for the internet. Terrestrial radio stations (TV too) are utter crap and like to force feed us Britney Spears types. That bitch could never sing. I digress... Competition really does bring innovation. This is definitely a good change of the status quo for everyone. I hope all of them succeed.
Who Moved My Cheese? - GPSCenter, on 07/01/2008, -0/+6Cool sites, I can digg it!
- edwartica, on 07/01/2008, -0/+5Let's not forget about podcasts for free music. Indiefeed, NPR, KCRW, KEXP - all have some decent podcats - all for free.
- Simonft, on 07/01/2008, -1/+5HOOOLLLLLY SHIIIIIT!
- kiensoy, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4No deezer? booo
- inactive, on 07/01/2008, -2/+5http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/
- kdogg73, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3somafm.com people
- GenerousLinus, on 07/01/2008, -2/+5Yeah, I can't tell if the site is just really good or if we're being gang banged by spammers.
- ajb2015, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3thepiratebay
- BetterOffEd, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3Yeah—my ass hurts after all of this "thesixtyone" talk.
- BetterOffEd, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3Either you're spam, or you think/type like spam.
(Please forgive me if the latter is indeed the case.) - btgoss, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3MySpace is still a good place to hear music from new acts after you have found them somewhere else, so it still has that as it's value. As for being the place to actually find that music, it's not so good.
- Digger1218, on 07/01/2008, -1/+4lol internettoughguy see you tomorrow with your new name spamming the same nonsense about onetimer, jews and kevin rose. BTW, nobody cares and you don't scare anyone.
- ChrisWexler, on 07/01/2008, -8/+11I'm here becasue I'm totally hooked on TheSixtyOne.com -- social gaming and new music discovery? Totally addicting...
- Snakedal337, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3I dont find T61 all that amazing.. maybe i'll use it for a bit, but thus far i'm not impressed. I don't care what everyone else on the site likes, I want to listen to what I like.
- btgoss, on 07/01/2008, -2/+5I don't understand the game at all, but the SixtyOne is really very good. But only if you actually like music.
If you like pop/rap/mainstream commercial crap, aside from not actually liking music, you might not find the SixtyOne as much fun. - feliks2, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3Looks interesting, I just created an account. Last.fm is still amazing for finding and keeping track of music though.
- worldruler, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3Ay Last.FM is definitely the way to go, especially now that Pandora has so many restrictions, there are a couple of others out there that the list missed though, perhaps someone could come up with a top 25!
- nopointinnames, on 07/01/2008, -1/+3The sixty one is more of a fun in your free time type site rather than I'm at work and need to hear a constant stream of music. Pandora is my favorite for work but I like using T61 at home to find new music. Both are great steps in getting the music industry more where it should be.
- timyjl, on 07/01/2008, -1/+3Ha! myspace? ell oh ell
- Tokyosexwhale, on 07/01/2008, -2/+4Yes, people from the sixty one are pretty passionate about it (I am one of them) and we're always trying to get more exposure (more people means more music, more points, etc.) but based on my experience, they're a pretty ok group. Sure a few might leave some stupid comments but come on...90% of digg comments are total ***** anyway.
- championchap, on 07/01/2008, -1/+3Same here, and what I happen to like is pretty erratic.
I've always had a problem with these kinda sites, right down to last.fm
And is it just me or is digg totally and completely over run with OMG SIXTYONE!! spam?
It's ugly as sin and acts just like traditional radio but for more indie artists.
THIS IS WHAT THE KIDS ARE LISTENING TO! YOU LISTEN TO IT TOO! /cool - BetterOffEd, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2To whomever dugg me down, please check his profile: Only 3 comments; 3 different stories; all pumping up "TheSixtyOne"
- fatTJ, on 07/01/2008, -1/+313: What.cd
- iticu, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2In theory, no. In practice there's not much else to say about the story.
- vawksel, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2They're from shoutcast but try JukeFly! It's got internet radio, favorites etc, all in your browser so it'll work from the office.
You can also listen to your own tunes, but that's just icing on the already delicious cake. (The cake is not a LIE! :P)
http://jukefly.com - lateralus, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2gomusic.ru better be on there.
- BetterOffEd, on 07/01/2008, -1/+3Hahaha... You're spam. ;-)
Who the hell really says "I don't really buy CD's anymore, BUT...." ? - MadHarvey, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2But the Feds will take death threats seriously, even if we don't. So, hey feds, when you track this guy down, could you leave a comment or something? So we can all have a good laugh.
- YodaJones, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1I think calling the publication "PC Magazine" is a misnomer. I remember when it used to be a magazine and it even had stuff worth reading in it. Nowadays I think they should call it "PC Flyer" or maybe "PC Pamphlet" even "PC Two Pages Folded In Half" would better describe it.. All it is is three paragraphs spread out over five pages to generate ad revenue. with banner impressions.
