- Pet0r, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13just found out you can attack the radiotower with your mouse! :)
- ksgant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7That's great! I can't wait to upgrade to Web 2.0! When does it come out?
- v3xt0r, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Actually, it aggregates RSS, but since the content that is aggregated is nothing more than a marketing push for a technology that has been around for years and is nothing new, and is still not even being adopted in any useful form, aside from 239812798238 googlemap mashups, which some here would say are 'cool', even tho they all look like they were designed by 12yo kids who have coke-bottle glasses and need to read text @ 14pt.
- graywave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Yeah, but they've gone ahead and done it. You're still siting on your butt.
- bluephoenix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4why wouldn't you just subscribe to the individual rss feeds? This seems rather useless and a waste of time.
- saolsasl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They give credit to popurls but the subject of the sites is of course is completely different. See also this amusing discussion between popurls and OS on a Dutch web 2.0 weblog
http://www.blueace.nl/2006/08/geen-tijd-om-web-20-blogs-bij-te-houden/ - robrepp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Is this serious? Aggregated RSS feeds and some javascript rollover toys? Aren't there already a million solutions that do this in your browser/desktop/wristwatch/fridge door? I should register OriginalPornSignal.com, grab some feeds, find a bunch of investors and retire.
- whisperstorm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4They should team up with http://www.popurls.com .... turn on the news hose!
- transeunte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It'd be great if you could add any RSS feed to a view like that. The way it is just seems to be very limited - I mean, what if I hate one of those blogs and want to add another one instead.
Anyway, there's probably something out there that fits my description, I just don't know where. - phatalbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3no one has mentioned netvibes or some other rss aggregator that lets you pick your own feeds??
- kungfustickman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I kinda like this. It's a very balance view at web 2.0. Yeah they have some great ones like web2.0 show. Although I'm surprised that they don't have Solution Watch.
- gd007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3very nice!
- crawfishsoul, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Doesn't anybody see the irony in calling your site "Original Signal" when none of the content is theirs?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3now popurls has a brother, well done
- zoransa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I do not know why but I like it!
- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Here's Wii only version of this:
http://www.wiinintendo.net/feeds.php - shout, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2popurls is way better in my opinion. besides after a while the articles that overlap all of these sites starts to expand.
- keikun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1their favicon looks like engadget's
- forteller, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3People has already pointed out that this is similar to popurls, but I have to say that it's not only that, but pretty much a totall ripoff of popurls. I know that a feed aggregating site is not something new that popurls created, but that design and functionality is just too similar..
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My thoughts exactly.
- beatdigga, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2thats what I was thinking
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, pastel colors and gradients.
Gotta admit I gave in to that hype in designing some of my site. I can't help it, I tried a copy of plan9 from Bell Labs with it's rio desktop and got mushy over the baby-powder hues. Too bad web-friendly fonts don't look as good as in plan9.
OTOH, black backgrounds and green/hi-white text definitely marks it as "retro". - Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1www.netvibes.com
includes wayyyy more then original signal including some support for sites like meebo and writely so you can acsess all of it from there - vexvex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Kind of ironic that this site has no rss feeds of its own.
- xtr3m, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I believe http://www.web20workgroup.com/ is older.
- Pet0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1actually, new links since your last visit are displayed in pink (as it says in the info)
- eoecho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's like the AP news wire for popular blogs, except only the top stories get listed.
- eNthem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How is this different from netvibes (if configured)?
- transeunte, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Just another thought: if there is a way to do what I've just said, this site is a bad idea.
- geuisteses, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The design is kinda basic and I personally don't like the now common idea of putting multiple site feeds all over a single page. However, I don't read many of these sites and it does make it *kinda* easy to hover over and get a quick description of the stories. Actually read a few.
- Arbus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Web 2.0 means pastel colours and gradients right? This site is a good resource for fans of both of those things.
- aptiva, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1RSS anyone?
- geofharries, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The usability issue here is that there is no clear indication of what's new.
Everything has the same link colour, so you have to wade through all of the text trying to remember what you have and haven't seen.
Big waste of time. - Alvness, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Looks good and helps. Great
- uawa, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3This think rocks! Mouse over gives summary of story. Top blogs, one page, fast easy. Bookmark this. Helps save time when top blogs are on one page. There's always more & more to read & learn, isn't there. Getting there fast & quick. Again, great Digg!
- beatdigga, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1has anyone mentioned popurls.com yet? :P
- viruz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3So what's the big deal? it's an autoblog that pulls headlis from one site and puts it on theirs.
Give me an hour and I can do the same. - teckey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Look at the site http://www.Web2Reference.com . It has almost all the features like this site. Plus Web 2.0 Tag Cloud and more.
- teckey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Also check out the Filter.
http://digg.com/tech_news/Web2Reference.com,_a_reference_site_for_Web_2.0_ - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1How Ironic.
- maverick2001, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Same thing as www.kreuzz.com, but you cannot arrange or add feeds :-/
- palmer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Don't you love how insecure lamers dugg you down?
Some people are so desperate to believe in fictional things, it's embarrassing. - kabees, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1awesome site, very useful indeed for early tech news from all trusted sources
- mfearby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Just what the internet needs... yet another mash-up RSS aggregation resulting in one whopping great big link farm. Yay!
- deralaand, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This would give you the customizing options you might want.
http://mooglets.freewebsfarms.com/
However it won't be popular either because of this or that. - Kman42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0exactly what i was thinking
- 3zero3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I can't understand why this is of any interest. It's a collection of feeds with a pastel logomark.
- saolsasl, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2The subject is different form popurls, these are web 2.0 weblogs. There is a amusing discussion by the way between popurls and original signal on a Dutch web 2.0 weblog (Thomas/Tako)
http://www.blueace.nl/2006/08/geen-tijd-om-web-20-blogs-bij-te-houden/ - elroy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2If they really wanted to be web 2.0, they wouldn't be showing 15 signals, they'd be showing 37.
- marbant, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0hi, i'm the maker of popurls.com, here is my story of the day:
