- potifar, on 03/26/2008, -0/+14More info and higher res screenshot on Tim Altman's blog: http://weblog.timaltman.com/archive/2008/03/26/the ...
- 4d669, on 03/26/2008, -3/+14I really think I'll switch to either Opera or SeaMonkey. Firefox eats my RAM for breakfast and the Beta isn't such a good improvement.
- LumpOfCole, on 03/26/2008, -0/+9This is quite an achievement. If nothing else, the competition Safari was putting out spurred Opera to really get on this :) Web standards are Opera's "thing" after all.

- Hexxagonal, on 03/26/2008, -0/+6Great decision. Opera has a ton of bells and whistles like history search that make it so very nice.
- 10goto10, on 03/26/2008, -0/+6Webdevelopers worldwide, rejoice! Flying boxes are now POSSIBLE!
- mrmacky, on 03/26/2008, -0/+5I got a 75 a while back on FF3.
- RemcoL, on 03/26/2008, -3/+7It's "within a week or so", not "within a week" so it could take a bit longer :(
- MikeonTV, on 03/26/2008, -1/+5It also relieved the award for MikeonTV's favorite browser but that hardly gets reported on.
- sysop073, on 03/26/2008, -0/+4The Webkit developers are probably annoyed: http://webkit.org/blog/170/webkit-hits-98100-on-ac ...
- johnnysaucepn, on 03/26/2008, -0/+3I'm sure it didn't do any harm - but I'm also sure Opera were on the case right from day one! They would never miss an opportunity like this - look at Acid2....!
- justinrussell, on 03/26/2008, -2/+5Not necessarily... they could still be the first to have a public version of a 100/100 browser.
- sfury, on 03/27/2008, -0/+3the two most important features for me are how lightweight and fast it is and the mouse gestures - i really feel crippled when i use other browsers
- t0mmmmmmm, on 03/27/2008, -0/+2Or not, the webkit has reported a bug in the acid3 test which had to be updated:
http://ln.hixie.ch/?start=1206578003&count=1 - stegre, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2Can't wait for Opera 9.5 final. Good browser, suits my needs. Thank you!
- mikes1, on 03/26/2008, -0/+2The claim wasn't that a publicly available release got 100/100, just that Opera had achieved it.
- fcrow, on 03/26/2008, -2/+4Nice job!
Firefox still fails I get 53/100 using 2.0.0.13 I wonder how FF 3.0 performs on this?
http://acid3.acidtests.org - RyomaNagare, on 03/27/2008, -0/+2the latest beta is quite good, really usable and fast, it gets 77 on acid3 test too,
the one prior to that its crap really unstable and buggy as hell. - barktwiggs, on 03/27/2008, -1/+3Now that Opera has gotten the rendering standards (mostly) under their belt, they can focus on optimizing performance and stability. Safari and Firefox beta builds have been outperforming Opera as of late.
- potifar, on 03/26/2008, -0/+2Might still be accurate, time will tell ;)
- mattcoxonline, on 03/27/2008, -0/+2I'd say Safari have been putting up some good numbers vs Opera, but Firefox - really?
- lilmoder, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1Congrats! Must digg!
- McCyberfly, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1Go OPERA, go !!!!
Dugg up - BenRoth, on 03/26/2008, -1/+2Shut up. And you forgot the semicolon.
- Danikar, on 03/26/2008, -1/+2Hmm, looking forward to this.
- SlechtValk, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1dugg up for mentioning mouse gestures! great feature!!! I use it all the time.
- sfury, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1I can't wait to get my hands on the final Opera 9.5
- johnnysaucepn, on 03/26/2008, -1/+1Not a reference build, this is the core rendering engine.
- iamp01, on 03/26/2008, -1/+1Say that to all the browser makers who internally passed Acid2 weeks/months before releasing a public build ;)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acid2#Timeline_of_com ... - shadowatt, on 03/27/2008, -1/+0The perfect Eastern Gift!!! yeah!!! Congrats to the Opera Team!!!!
- ramunas, on 03/26/2008, -6/+5Not entirely accurate, the post said: "We will release a technical preview version on labs.opera.com within the next week or so."
- inactive, on 03/27/2008, -1/+0*chuckles*
You know, I'm a big fan of Opera but I think I agree with you on this one. All this hoo-hah and fuss over a screenshot....now if they'd released another snapshot build of Kestrel that worked as advertised - THAT I'd be happy about. As it is...well done Opera, but unless miracles happen Safari is going to beat you to a fully ACID-3 compliant release. - byrc, on 03/28/2008, -2/+0I completely misread this as "Oprah gets on acid" and I dugg it for that reason, but hey this is cool too... not as cool as oprah on acid though :(
- cgomez, on 03/26/2008, -4/+1Hurray for some mythical developer build that can supposedly render the test.
- 1gunners4, on 03/26/2008, -9/+4I originally read this as "Oprah gets 100/100 on the Acid3 test." Luckily, I noticed the error before my I had an an aneurysm.
- ProfessorLX, on 03/26/2008, -10/+2i thought this said "Oprah gets 100/100..."
i was gunna congratulate her and stedman - wonderchemist, on 03/26/2008, -15/+1Internal Reference Build == Vaporware
