- str3ama, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11Dear Mashable (Peter Cashmore),
Please stop writing clearly "digg-bait type articles". Your blog is capable of doing regular reviews and previews, as you have done in the past. But this "[Topic] Toolbox: 100 Resource to [Topic]" template that you've been pumping out on a weekly basis is getting old and making your site's status as a reputable Social networking review site less credible. - smurf22, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8I dont think I would like to stake my business off of some internet connections and servers.
- Amything, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I hate these 1.342.321 ways to do this and that. TOO MUCH INFORMATION
- tmmi, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6No one who runs their business _seriously_ would put any of their business critical information on some online tool that might go belly up over night.
- rastakid, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Agreed, besides who knows what happens to your data when it's on some one else's server. Business models etc. are quite confidential. Also, web businesses have the habit to suddenly disappear overnight.
- PhilH, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Useful information, I'm sure, but the format it is presented in is just awful. The categorization doesn't go far enough, and there's no kind of assessment of how good the tools are. It's just a list of websites, the same list that I could properly compile myself in minutes using Google.
- ecaribbean, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think over time a few of these apps will survive and show credibility, then and only then would the business populace pay them serious attention.
I can see micro and small businesses being the "bleeding edge" market for these apps. - Finovski, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I think Mashable is doing a great service with these toolbox posts. It's a great resource list. Sure these might be borderline "digg-baiting" but digg is a community of people that post links to stories that they find interesting or useful and want to share it with other people. What's wrong with making information that is interesting and useful? If you have a better site that has a resource list... submit it. Digging bc this is a great resource list that can be useful to people... Thanks Pete!
- fkr3, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I don't know if this really constitutes digg bait. For it to have been bonafide digg bait it would have had to have a "google is the answer to everything", "FREE!!!!" or "anti microsoft/pro opensource" slant.
- seointern, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I have read a number of these types of list, and still find useful websites every time. Why would this get such a bad wrap, if most the users find the resources useful. Besides who honestly has the time to discover all the websites in the first place if it weren't for these types of list?
- code2joy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1yes... useless desktop apps.
- jfmain, on 03/03/2008, -0/+0An online business will fail without one thing!
Keyword Research - If you don't know what it is then you can not
create an online presence and you won't get traffic (unless you pay for it).
There's not one tool there to do it. The tools are probably ok for running a traditional
bricks and motar business but online it's not bricks and motar it's information, information, information and not location, location location.
If you don't get it you can't succeed.
I've been there done that got the medal!

- Lrn2Fish, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Actually Ive added a lot of the lists to my bookmarks as they have contained some great links. Sadly we all cant scour the internet for useful apps all the time so its useful to have a nice list of 100 at our finger tips when the need may come. I guess sharing some good research isnt very social.
