"No DPI" web site launches with Phorm Protest Event
nodpi.org — Alexander Hanff, fierce Phorm opponent, has launched a new web site to further the campaign against the use of Deep Packet Inspection for the purpose of behavioural profiling. The site launched today with the announcement of a Protest Rally at BT's annual shareholder's meeting on July 16th. Significant press and media coverage expected.

DOWN WITH DPI!!!!! - Beamerboy, on 05/30/2008, -0/+2The protest is making the tech news sites already:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/05/30/bt_agm_pho ... - cthrough, on 05/30/2008, -0/+2Finally the British public can stand up for themselves. We can't continue to be pushed around by large corporations and a Government determined to take away our basic civil liberties.
http://www.DoNotTrustWebwise.org - Beamerboy, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1Is anyone else only seeing 3 comments despite it saying there are 8? I have tried from multiple PCs and only see the first 3 comments.
- NickedName, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1It would be nice to 'attend' the metting itself; where's the cheapest place to buy 1 BT share?
- Beamerboy, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1Not sure where the cheapest place to buy them is, but I understand they are only about £2.22 at the moment.
- TristanBeck, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1Any stock broker will be able to sell you some at or close to the market rate. They'll then charge a commission fee above that.
From previous comments on these lines that I've seen you'll pay about £10 beyond the price of the share itself for this.
Still, any stock broker should be able to handle the transaction for you, a quick google turned up a list of online ones http://www.uknetguide.co.uk/Finance/Stocks_and_Sha ... . They're mostly geared more for investement than a single share, but there should still be some that serve. - Hanco, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1Or save your quids and just come along for the extraordinary meeting outside whic is not actually the BT AGM at all but a far more important meeting :) www.nodpi.org
- Hanco, on 05/31/2008, -0/+2Will everyone please post the Digg link to any forum where they have not seen it yet please? With 13600 petition signatures on the Prime Minister site we should be able to get at least 100 or 200 Diggs. We need to raise awareness of this, widely - NOW.

********************************************** - warescouse, on 05/31/2008, -0/+2I cannot believe more people are not up in arms over this Phorm deep packet inspection profiling. Its no different to sending all your personal letter mail on a Postcard for your mail delivery man to see, examine and note. All our in line HTTP web data will be available to seen by an organisation called Phorm who were previously involved with, PeopleOnPage brower 'enhancements' (a b**ger to remove) and other adware/spyware products in the past when they were 121Media.
I hope the meeting is attended well because the public profile definitely needs to be raised of this issue. - GeordieF, on 05/31/2008, -0/+2 Good luck on demo day people hope you have a big turn out
- thanatos1001, on 05/31/2008, -0/+2Dont let BT and Phorm get away with this!
Spread the word !
Spread the word ! Spread the word ! Spread the word !
Use a Phorm free ISP! - panteleimon, on 06/01/2008, -0/+2BT's Webwise (Phorm) is a technology for intercepting and spying on its customers' internet browsing - this demo is important to get BT shareholders to see that members of the public do not want to be spied on by BT.
