Cody Roux's profile has been deleted. - soogy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19Bah, not just MySpace, this goes out to rap music. "All the profiles linked "gangsta" lifestyles with sex and rap music to the suspects in misspelled words on their profile pages."
Look at that *****. I remember back in the day when music wasn't about sex, guns, money and the "gangsta" lifestyle; all it's done is corrupt our youth.

Good lord. And I thought I was out of touch with reality. - ZetSabre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Seriously? I mean, I know everyone has different perceptions of beauty, but I assumed that corn-rows on a white girl being unattractive was something that everyone agreed on.
- JesseJericho, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Also a new article outlining the assault - it is not for the squeamish.

This wasn't just caused by boredom, people... there is a serious problem with kids these days, somehow they are being brought up without empathy or any idea of consequences. It takes a pretty twisted mind to even stand around and watch this kind of thing, never mind committing the act itself. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Now you just did! Strange thing this Internet thing isnt it?
- DisposableRob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9"Johnston's profile stated he made more than $250,000 a year."
Don't they all? I bet their profiles said they were 99 years old, too. - BlackAdderIII, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10A pleasant summary:
"""Partygoers, "riot-like" began punching, kicking and beating him.
...pistol-whipped Alexis Sosa....
...ripped Alexis Sosa's shirt and began carving CF into his back with a flip-open knife....
...Jeffrey Sosa eventually was tied up with black shoelaces, punched and tortured by having his back carved similar to his uncle's...
...poured bleach on Alexis Sosa's head, and it ran into his mouth and eyes.
...Alexis Sosa had a black bag over his head ...Firefighters found severely burned remains of Alexis Sosa in the car's trunk. He was shot four times and, the report said, only his torso and head were intact.
Jeffrey Sosa ... tazered three to ten times..shot seven times... evidence of a beating. The initials "CF" and an "asterisk star-like design" were carved into his back."""
Bored my backside. Rehabilitation my backside. Send these ***** to Guantanamo Bay.
If these people have come to the attention of the cops before (and let's be honest, they almost probably have), that bleach thing would be the best argument for 1-strike-and-out you'd ever heard. - SparkLink, on 10/12/2007, -1/+92Pac's death didn't kill hip-hop. The media just chose to focus on wannabe thugs and the whole 'gangsta' mentality to make money. There are a lot of good artists that have positive messages but get little to no radio time. The Roots, Talib Kewli, Common, Mos Def... and I'm just naming a small branch.
The sad reality is that you won't find much substance on the radio or TV anymore. I used to love H.E.R. too. - thepharmacist, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Huh ? How is using a non-standard vocabulary, syntax and grammar while spelling mostly in phonetics coupled with unpronouncable characters not a cryptic way of communicating ?
And how is communicating in such a way to gain social acceptance not a part of the gang lifestyle ?
Sorry, but this Mr. Lee is right. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14"The five suspects in the killings list online friends of more than 300 each.
The suspects may have used MySpace.com as a way to communicate in cryptic messages as part of their gang style, Lee said. "
ROFL, older adults are so ***** stupid and clueless - iamnoskcaj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Cape Coral is such a dreadful place. They claim to be "Paradise" but it's anything but. There's a saying about it back home (I used to live across the bridge from Cape Coral, in the same county) .... "Home of the newly-wed and nearly-dead." Of course, they're referring to the fact that it's all dying elderly people and young couples looking for cheap property. Although since property prices have more than doubled, you can't really call it cheap anymore.
It's a scam town, built in the 50's by realestate developers who literally would fly prospective buyers over this "promised land" that they dug up and trenched canals throughout. It's flat, dead, ugly, and there's no culture. Oh yeah, did I mention that there's nothing for kids to do there? It's the second largest city (land-mass) in the state of Florida, and they don't even have a museum, a mall, or very many restaurants or stores open past 9pm.
In spite of how much I despise Cape Coral, I think this article could have been written about nearly any community out there where kids have nothing better to do than drop their rides, cruise the streets, and act like wanna-be gangsters. These kids are ***** ridiculous... if any of you have ever seen Cape Coral, you'd know that there's literally NO reason for gangs at all. It's all make-believe ***** that gets way out of hand because there's absolutely ***** to do.
Thank God I moved out of Southwest Florida. If only I had left sooner... and if only I could convince my friends to leave as well. - teknotant, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Don’t you see the picture of Malibu’s most wanted in your mind?
Yeah, I just moved to this area two years ago from Kentucky. This area is full of privileged individuals that think they have been living in the roughest hoods their whole life. Their “ghetto”, as pointed out by the local kids, is a working class neighborhood. Hell, where I just moved from you could hit the hookers with a rock and buy some crack by putting your hand out the window, WTF? And that is no where near as bad as the projects in the larger cities.
Hhahahahhah I am from Kentucky and have seen rougher parts of town then this place. - jtinnesco, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8wow, this just shows that rap makes todays youth stupid, its like insta-stupid as soon as you hear the beat of the newest stupid hit single o the radio. Oh, and white girls with corn row...that's just pathetic.
- dirka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6wow, kids in Florida that can't spell, I'm like totally shocked. I guess its ok if only a couple kids get left behind, isn't that right Mr. Bush??
- Respiration, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6It's kind of nice to see that other people on digg listen to hip-hop as well...
But just because Hip-Hop originated form the streets doesn't mean that everything relates to gang activity, such as artists like Little Brother and MF Doom.
I really think that its the media and Record Label heads killing Hip-Hop right now, only in it to make as much money as possible no matter what they have to do, even if its exploiting a culture...kinda said really... - bdrydyk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5You can almost whiteness their homicidal tendencies in their myspace designs. I nearly murdered someone after looking at them, but luckily the vomiting prevented me from doing so.
- Cymrubeats, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Fagsta.
- GoldieTheMack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5 The static background with the scrolling text is why I hate Myspace, people don't know how to format. It's hilarious that the one guy has about $1000 as his profile pic like he's balling out of control. If I had to cash my check at a check cashing place, like I bet he does, I'd be able to take a picture better than that every payday.
- PacoDG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Wow, nice with the News-Press link with all their addresses.
A quick google search of the Happy Road one, reveals this "hood" has his neighbors nearly all having pools, nicely cut lawns, and I think the person accross the street has a fountain or something in their backyard:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=977+Happy+Road,+North+Fort+Myers&ie=UTF8&z=19&ll=26.656014,-81.918491&spn=0.001177,0.002704&t=k&om=1
(if its an outdoor above ground pool, I can see those people being disgruntled enough to shoot someone) - DigDugDigger, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Kanye? pfff. Immortal Technique actually has something to say.
- neozeed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Not only have I seen bully but met someone that knew the people it was based on 1st hand. Yeah its the burb sprawl that makes people go insane I guess.
That or the water. - thepharmacist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Ever seen the film Bully by Larry Clark ? Basically it's about teenagers living in such a town with nothing to do turning to drugs and sex to fill their days. Their lifestyle ultimately gets them to murder.
- auxide, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Im A Layed Bak Person Just Tryin To Get My Life Situated, Tryin To Survive This Street life, While Into The Rap Game."
you've got yourself a movie plot there! - striker1211, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8It's not just mtv white kids acting this way, its the majority of lower class people... at least in my city, and its a small city. I'm a cashier and i see 5 people a day at least on razrs say the words: shorty, son, chea (like yeah, but with a CH) then pay with food stamps... lol. It seems the poorer a person is the more rude and confrontational he is. What kind of society are we living in where every confrontation has to be solved with violence. It's a big ***** world we have to learn to share and not ***** shoot each other. It seems people don't want to admit they are lower class and try to live this "baller" life. I'm poor, i'll admit it. I ain't gonna go out and buy a 200 dollar coat though and bling bling on a credit card... bah, digg me down im ranting. Society is society, nothing will change.
- spinningobo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6cryptic (adj.)
1. Having hidden meaning; mystifying. See Synonyms at ambiguous.
2. Secret or occult.
3. Using code or cipher.
As far as I know, writing in slang doesn't carry any secret/hidden meaning, nor is it a coded message.
Now, it may well be truly indecipherable to some people. This would, in turn, make it "cryptic" to the person reading it.
So, in other words, yes.
Older caucausian adults = clueless ($To Mahspace Gangsta $peek At Least$). - madgamer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4the 14 year old that was killed, jeffrey sosa

- iamnoskcaj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I seem to remember a movie called Transient, or something like that, with a similar premise. In fact, it was filmed in Southwest Florida.
- striker1211, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Who would ever want to spawn a new person from those tubes... certified pre-*****.
- auxide, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Someone needs to code a gangsta to english translator, i cant read/understand what they have written:(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I agree!!!!
southwest florida is well known as a "paradise" and supposedly the place where you can use the word "amazing" as a noun but behind all of these lies southwest florida mostly Lee County is turning into a slum.

and i got suspended for having a blog! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3wow i really love how they talk, it really helps me realize how retarded some people are.
- halosniper7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2WOW, ashley is sooo white! damn, i was thinking of stereo types (black 'gangsta's, sorry)
- CaseyUCF, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4hit the weights son.
- crackityjonesjr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3That's so true. The older you get, the less you know. At my age, I know about as much as a baboon. ;-)
- darkinferno9908, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2...So now the real 'gangstas' have progressed to e-gangstas? "Eh shawt watch out for I pop a 'A' key up in ya head" ...*sigh* THIS is why I never get jobs to call me back... they think I'm gonna homerow them or something.
- Cymrubeats, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3That's why he has his dads gun in that pic, you could blow him down with a good fart. :))
- JesseJericho, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2There is no indication that these kids were poor or "lower class"... take a look at their addresses, and you'll see that they live in subdivisions with pools, nice houses, and nice cars. There is something else going on here, and it has to do with a new, totally dysfunctional family that is spawning all over the place. These undoubtedly middle class kids were at a party where more than one person had a gun, one apparently with an assault rifle, and how old are these kids? 17, 18? Where the hell are the parents, and how do they have no clue that their child is participating in this kind of thing?
- pseudojd, on 10/12/2007, -7/+8Kanye West? how about the KKK barbershop band? F that racist.
- JesseJericho, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Thats all fine and good, and I agree that these crimes are sadistic and the perps definitely need to be put away, likely forever. But the question is what about the multitude of other kids who are on their way to committing crimes like this? How do we prevent it? Do we just continue to throw every disfunctional kid in prison, or bury them after they've gone on a murder-suicide rampage? Usually it's too late to prevent this kind of thing, so the damage is done... locking them up or killing them solves nothing. Society needs to recognize that something is SERIOUSLY wrong with the way their children are being raised (or perhaps they even have an undiagnosed mental condition), before anything will get better. The kind of abuse that these kids doled out is like that of a sadistic serial killer, not of a pissed off little punk...
- iamnoskcaj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2BarryG... are you sure you're not related to the case? Maybe you were born in Cape Coral? Your myspace seemed a bit too much like one of those "gangsta's" from the Cape...
- netferret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I pity the fools!
- pillfred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You'll find that "Ghetto Mentality" is in a lot of places far removed from big city life and anything close to a ghetto.. Speaking of movies about gansta kids what about the one where the kid from ***** hole Iowa thinks he's black.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"@gabacho: good point... but for the love of god, keep her from designing any more homepages!"
Hah! Oh come on! Why did he get modded down? Have you ever SEEN a homepage designed by a stripper?? No matter how many showers you take afterwards, you can't clean the shame off. - Otto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1+1 for excellent use of "homerow".
- pillfred, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Thats like saying "water makes people drown." It is still there choice to act in this fashion.
- iamnoskcaj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2100% agree that the cause of their indifference to violence is not boredom. That is something much more deep-rooted. Sick little bastards... we've gone way wrong...
