- okayokayokay, on 06/16/2009, -1/+87It's okay guys, I downloaded myspace earlier today, so I've got a backup on my floppy in case it goes down.

Facebook: Lots of people you barely know sending pictures of their alcoholism
Twitter: stuff no one cares about 140 characters at a time - Giac, on 06/16/2009, -6/+66***** myspace

*prepares to be massively buried* - kolop1, on 06/16/2009, -2/+39It will go the way of Yahoo. It won't go away, but no one will care about it any more.
- djmonarck, on 06/16/2009, -3/+33As a former employee w/ friends who still work there (at least until today), I'd like to remind everyone that as much as we all might hate what MySpace represents, a lot of people lost their jobs today. My heart goes out to them and their families. I wish them the best in their future endeavours.
- vulcanius, on 06/16/2009, -1/+28The internet must have come up with a cure for cancer.

- deleo, on 06/16/2009, -0/+21It's not the fault of the people who got laid off today. They were just doing their jobs. This was due to bad management. The people who ran Myspace had to know for months if not years, that their site is a mess. They would have to be blind not to see that Facebook came in with a better, cleaner UI and walled garden, and that's what people ultimately wanted (at least up to this point they do) and yet they did very little to adapt.
- stvanchimo, on 06/16/2009, -1/+20make sure to download the chat program in myspace in case you need to chat later when you don't have access to the internet ;)
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -8/+27Looks like Myspasm is going through it's final twitches. Serves Murdoch right.
- RadiatedAnt, on 06/16/2009, -1/+20this is bad, it's like if 4chan were to close all the b\tards\ would flood digg err something to that affect

- ltshinysides, on 06/16/2009, -0/+15so my neighbors garage band will not have a website anymore... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
- mtied, on 06/16/2009, -3/+18I guess humor is lost on some people.
- sammyc53, on 06/16/2009, -1/+14What's MySpace?
Oh yeah, them. Maybe if they tried to jazz up the site a little and compete, they wouldn't be in this mess. They got really lazy and cozy, real fast.
All they did was go get another silly Template for their site. - harrisbradley, on 06/16/2009, -2/+14DieSpace
- superkendall, on 06/16/2009, -1/+13It was like watching two competing strains of fungus battle for growth on a cow carcass. Facebook was simply the better fungus I suppose, a superior strain whose spores eclipsed all others.

Something tells me he's just doing it for kicks. :¬) - Hraes, on 06/16/2009, -0/+9Perhaps you should find new friends instead of keeping the idiots around.
- MargotCross, on 06/16/2009, -0/+9I think we all suspected this was coming.. but still - a LOT of people lost their jobs today. MySpace already changed their company boiler plate to sound more like Facebooks. I don't think they stand a chance.
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -0/+7You are either the most brilliant troll ever, or a complete tool.
- Hraes, on 06/16/2009, -0/+7haha
- tommythetomcat, on 06/16/2009, -0/+6I bet Fox is glad their purchase of Myspace and plastering background adds on it every other week is paying off.
- RudeTurnip, on 06/16/2009, -1/+7I never saw the business case for MySpace...or for Facebook or Twitter for that matter. We're seeing that you can't have a gigantic infrastructure supported on advertising alone if you're relying on the users to double as the content. "Pass the buck to the next round of investors" types of companies do not ultimately add any value to the economy.
- flyingsquirle, on 06/16/2009, -0/+6Could I get a copy of that? I lost my internet floppy and would've used it, but I always forget to backup...
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -0/+6Pics or it didn't happen.

- stack3r, on 06/16/2009, -0/+5Don't know what all the hate about myspace was originally. I still think its excellent for music, find artists, find other artists in their friends. Facebook wont replace the music ***** myspace offered.
But w/e .. bye myspace. - nibble4bits, on 06/16/2009, -0/+5Sorry! an unexpected error has occurred.
- Stomper622, on 06/16/2009, -0/+5I bet your "friends" say the same thing about you.

- strictnein, on 06/16/2009, -0/+4For buying Myspace for the price of $580 million?
They do more than that in ad revenue a year. He got a good deal, whether Myspace haters want to admit it or not. - ithejosh, on 06/16/2009, -0/+4effect*
- angryfirelord, on 06/16/2009, -0/+4Except it mutated into slightly different variations of it known as Facebook and Twitter.
