- geminitojanus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+52Looks like Abraham Lincoln on the cover of a death metal album.
- sgoogle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+49Assuming wasting time is safe for work, sure
- Philipp_Lenssen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+48Sorry for the server time-outs, I'm trying to work on it...
- RBotros, on 10/10/2007, -10/+57This is just ingenius.
- alekdigg, on 10/10/2007, -3/+46It would be AMAZING (gotta use that word) if this hit the front page of DIGG and tapped into that population to "improve" the gene pool ... for faces! ;-)
- OutThisLife, on 10/10/2007, -0/+30IE is a mutated browser.
- neau, on 10/10/2007, -3/+30Try this one: http://D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y.com/
- Kronos6948, on 10/10/2007, -0/+25Now I know where Michael Bay got his designs for the Transformers movie.
- ludwik, on 10/10/2007, -5/+29This one is really good: http://www.ludwik.trammer.pl/screens/mutating1.png
It even has a hat, a mustache and a beard, a tie and... vampire teeth. - distrbnce, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24SFW?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21It's starting to look like a Japanese samurai with KISS make-up.
- ursername180, on 10/10/2007, -1/+22Oh, you can't use IE6. Just so you guys know... Not like any of you guys do...
- MiDri, on 10/10/2007, -2/+22Only a mater of time before everything starts looking like lady parts...

- cmiller1, on 10/10/2007, -2/+20or better yet, let's all start trying to make it look like boobs
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17unless I'm missing something that's just blog-spam with a random image script.
If I'm correct, this site is using an evolutionary algorithm of sorts. It should slowly but surely approach a real looking face after so many generations. Not exactly ground-breaking, but very cool. - picsectionpleez, on 10/10/2007, -3/+20Fail because I am not going to sign up in order to play.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+18You win. Do you accept paypal?
- steveoeo, on 10/10/2007, -4/+19pure pure genius, i really hope something interesting comes out of this

- LucasVB, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14So far.
- iceschade, on 10/10/2007, -0/+112 out of 3 ain't bad.
- resplence, on 10/20/2007, -0/+10It's more like moustached samurai generator.
- DelSolid, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12Apparently the pictures mutated so much they killed the server hosting them.
- FTLJohnson, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Down already. 5 min.
- joegibes, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9So far, the images are mostly being narrowed down from random shapes to having facial features. Next will come the outline of the face (instead of random crap, it'll look like a head). Then hair. Then INTELLIGENCE...
- edwartica, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8And not in a good, super powers way. Its actually mutated to a de-evolved way. Its like humans turning back into chimps.
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -0/+8On October 1st, 2007, MutatingPictures.com achieved self-awareness.
- DeadFox1, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Hey Phillipp- the digg effect has only just begun! you are on the front page!
- chewbacca77, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Yea, apparently it has already evolved beyond the capabilities of IE6
- SmashA444, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9yes
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8i got 100! beat that suckers!
- Philipp_Lenssen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Yes, they are mutating -- whenever a picture gets a high rating it creates offspring, but every picture among this offspring is a random mutation of the "parent" picture. A mutation consists of a certain percentage of all polygons being completely repositioned on the canvas.
- trisquithere, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I'm defintely gonna visit this site more often when i'm bored
- distrbnce, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Ah yes, except maybe for the printer. The Rorschach really gets it going.
- deborah195, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5'pointy' lady parts.. haha
- pjkli, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8NSFW if your work uses WebSense. Man I HATE WebSense.
- Shawn4168, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Hmm...sounds kinda similar in concept to Electric Sheep.
- nadeau, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I wonder how long will it take for the picture to look like Jessica Biel ?
- picsectionpleez, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5ya it's safe
- msarge, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Digg is going to rape this sites bandwidth.
- GeekyGerge, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7We don't care about your ***** blog.
- Syric, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4In reality, the users who click are more of a simulation for natural selection, wouldn't you say? Supposing these "organisms"' natural environment to be one where face-like characteristics are beneficial to survival, natural selection would favor those that resemble faces.
- thecoin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3yeah thats what i'm getting
- Cimlite, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3You should try and find a WoW players anonymous group dude. :P
- pplant, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5How much does this look like a face? :)
- Amablue, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5It still demonstrates that order can arise from random mutations though, so in that sense it is evidence regardless of the fact that we (intelligent minds) are choosing the course of the mutations to a degree. The actual changes (as far as we know) are random.
- davepederson, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Is this based on a genetic algorithm? Anyone?
