- eminn3m, on 05/06/2009, -1/+1492 Reasonable Explanations for this:
1. The Pirate Bay trial scared them *****.
2. The filtering system is just to look good but won't be too effective. - Jakobzzzz, on 05/06/2009, -2/+98***** BREIN, RIAA, MPAA, IPRED and Tokio Hotel!
- bwinebarger, on 05/06/2009, -2/+95Damn. I liked Mininova.
- bittermang, on 05/06/2009, -2/+85First they came for the public trackers, and I said nothing, because I didn't use them.
- aimhelix, on 05/06/2009, -3/+86In other news, Mininova is now dead.
- bigteebo, on 05/06/2009, -2/+71Seeds = 0
leechers = 0 - holyskeleton, on 05/06/2009, -4/+50***** BREIN
- crownedgriffin, on 05/06/2009, -5/+49FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU....
Oh well. I mostly use private trackers anyway. This still totally sucks though. - seanslater, on 05/06/2009, -3/+46You wouldn't think so looking at the frontpage of Mininova ;)
- cromulent742, on 05/06/2009, -2/+43Go ahead and cut off one of the hydra's heads. I dare you.
- Brownout, on 05/06/2009, -1/+32If the filtering system will prove effective they will just disappear.
- Phoenix919, on 05/06/2009, -2/+31Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
- cfisavant, on 05/06/2009, -1/+30The origin of wolves.
Objects that transform. - alpha88, on 05/06/2009, -0/+27Well, *****.
Time to name torrents inconspicuously. - eminn3m, on 05/06/2009, -0/+27Private trackers would be a piece of cake once they're able to take down the big guys. They're going from the top down.
- CVL4317, on 05/06/2009, -2/+28in the other news, mininova has turned into mini-mininova.
- theaceoface, on 05/06/2009, -0/+24It's a shame to see this happen to Mininova, but Id hate to see a Piratebay type sentence being handed down to them... I can completely understand the compulsion to do this... But I wonder how many people actually use Mininova for "legit" torrents... Rest in peace sweat prince, you were always my favorite torrent site...

People Noted for Feats of Courage or Nobility of Purpose - mabsark, on 05/06/2009, -0/+20Mininova isn't even a tracker, it's just an indexer. Most of the torrents on it link to TPB.
- cutchyacokov, on 05/06/2009, -0/+19I will not fix your computer.
- Rockyn, on 05/06/2009, -0/+18Then they came for my genitals and I said nothing because I'm a digger and I didn't use them.
- bigteebo, on 05/06/2009, -1/+18Well, it will be now.
- Betrayal, on 05/06/2009, -1/+17Demonoid forever
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -2/+18So I guess "Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise Edition" is a legal and free download. Who knew.
- Konnnan, on 05/06/2009, -0/+15This settles the argument. SWEDEN > NETHERLANDS
- ParaSwarm, on 05/06/2009, -1/+16Mad props yo.
- Spamkeg, on 05/06/2009, -0/+14eztv.it has mirrors to all TV shows not just from mininova.
- americanoboy, on 05/06/2009, -2/+15btjunkie.com
gg. - dsmx, on 05/06/2009, -1/+14I doubt it will people will just start naming thing's slight differently to get by the filter chances are if the industry picked it, it won't work.
- MisterFizzle, on 05/06/2009, -2/+14What a shame. May not be able to download new TV episodes.
I guess means back to Hulu or use Pirate Bay.
That also means if I do not know a show is good and to my liking, then I will not be buying box sets anymore. - MMaster23, on 05/06/2009, -6/+17"the largest BitTorrent site on the Internet" .. I thought the bay was the largest?
- pandawa, on 05/06/2009, -1/+11lets hope you're right
- iritegood, on 05/06/2009, -0/+10And then they came for the newsgroups, and I said nothing, because I didn't use them.
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -3/+13If the filters work pirates will simply use other trackers. Problem solved.
- stanggt3, on 05/06/2009, -3/+13***** mininova, depending how this works they may have been the first to bitch out of the war
we still have the PIRATE bay - Fiestardi, on 05/06/2009, -0/+10Goodbye Mininova
- jedinate, on 05/06/2009, -0/+8Google lists links to the sites that post these torrent trackers, when is their trial? Oh yeah that's right, they have the money to defend themselves AND WIN, so there won't be one.
- Irishsmurf, on 05/06/2009, -1/+9Will Mininova continue down the path to dying out just like its predecessor Suprnova?
Hopefully not, but this is definitely a bad move. - ChromaVita, on 05/06/2009, -0/+8Also as long as networks keep pulling stupid ***** like ABC does with LOST online, then people will resort to torrents. ABC has all of season 1-4 but then only puts up episodes 10-13 of season 5. The ***** is that *****?
- SneakyNinja, on 05/06/2009, -2/+10Hey the guys over at Napster want to get together for coffee later. I think you should... you've got lots to talk about.
- bamsebomsen, on 05/06/2009, -1/+9"Mininova co-founder Niek told TorrentFreak that the system will be tested for 12 weeks with only a few titles." Really hope that the Hannah Montana movie is on that list.
- drewc1138, on 05/06/2009, -5/+13I guess my friend who downloads copyrighted stuff will have to go back to TPB. Because my friend used to use Mininova all the time. My friend is upset.
- brickbat, on 05/06/2009, -2/+9bt cough junkie cough
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -0/+7Wierd, I also have a friend that uses this computer and he is upset about it to. Is there any good news at all......for my friend of course?
- sHockz, on 05/06/2009, -1/+8hopefully they are filtering media defender's crap trackers to ***** files they release
- o2sk8, on 05/06/2009, -1/+8Digging up for "sweat prince"
- branton87, on 05/06/2009, -3/+10What does it matter?
We still have http://thepirategoogle.com/ and they won't take on google. lolz - cromulent742, on 05/06/2009, -0/+7They got to OiNK
- iritegood, on 05/06/2009, -0/+7Alexa is a terrible source. It only gets its statistics from people who would install their software (read: not geeks).
'Largest' doesn't just mean the most traffic. What about the number of torrents tracked? The number of torrents indexed? A combination of most peers and torrents?
Simply counting the number of people that somehow find themselves on 'piratebay.org' doesn't really give any useful measurement. - kkm3, on 05/06/2009, -1/+7the robot that ends stuff
